Definition of hyper

Hyper - a prefix appearing in loanwords from Greek, where it meant “over,” usually implying excess or exaggeration (hyperbole);

Huper - over, beyond, fig. on behalf of, for the sake of, concerning

Looks like they are identical. Huper is probably the greek root that Hyper comes from.

It appears you are correct Grandpa on the origin of the word "hyper". - it is from the Greek word.

you mean fabricated lies like we are saved by our goodness and good works?? you mean like having a beer condems someone to hell?? you mean like " proving salvation by works, which points back to my first point?/

these, mr Stephen, are denominational doctrines, not Biblical truths...

What you're steering the readers from, dear Sherlock, is what I just posted is the truth, & not a preconceived notion like your post.:)

In Greek, one letter or mark on a word can change it's whole meaning, but you already knew that.;)

And the war continues,

it is sad sad when a particular person is so bent on proving someone wrong, he can not even see the flaw in his own reasoning

What you're steering the readers from, dear Sherlock, is what I just posted is the truth, & not a preconceived notion like your post.:)

i'm not steering anybody away from anything. most greek words can be translated into multiple meanings, so ya'll can go back and forth all day on that, and get nowhere.

as far as the rest of my post, what part of what I said was a " perceived notion ". could it be that I am informed about certain beliefs that certain churches teach, and you would rather not get into a debate about them??

No it couldn't be, since you & your friends are constantly hellbent on deceiving readers that everything's about "works salvationists" being against your doctrine.

I never brought that up, but you did, & squarely blamed it like you usually do.

About those "multiple meanings"..... Didn't you read my posts? They ALL contained the multiple meanings!

Folks can't see the truth when they're searching for something else.
;)

Salvation is product of Grace, there's only one thing to do to obtain it is to believe that's it, no works can ever create salvation or sustain it.

Amen...that is the gospel message in Christ. In Him we have redemption the forgiveness of sins.

God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself - not counting their sins against them. God has given us this ministry of reconciliation.

2 Corinthians 5:18-21 (NASB)
[SUP]18 [/SUP] Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation,

[SUP]19 [/SUP] namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.
[SUP]20 [/SUP] Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.

[SUP]21 [/SUP] He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Peter said the very same thing in Acts 10 when he preached the gospel as Paul preached to the Jews when they met in their synagogue - only this time - to the Gentiles.

Acts 10:43-44 (NASB)
[SUP]43 [/SUP] "Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins."

[SUP]44 [/SUP] While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the message.

This word "fell upon" is the exact same Greek word that Jesus used when describing the Father "falling on the neck" of the son - kissing him relentlessly.

I love how the Holy Spirit "fell upon" those that listened and believed the true gospel message of Christ. All of heaven responds to the message of Christ.

Thank you Jesus...xox...:)...

Salvation is product of Grace, there's only one thing to do to obtain it is to believe that's it, no works can ever create salvation or sustain it.
But not everything labeled "grace" is.

There have been false christs, false messiahs, false gospels..... now we have false repentance, false conviction, false faith, & false grace.

And like any cult, they attach these false things to real scripture to validate them.
