I'd say that former homosexuals were a part of the NT church so this pastor would have been out of line with NT Christians.But your best hit was whats written on the door of the church "independent" "fundamental" "King James only" which is code for an "us four and no more" church. My heart is broken for these things. I think now, more than ever, we need to band together in prayer. No sin is so great that we can be separated from HIM. Oh Father.. Please protect them and show them your love. Change the hearts of these evil men and show them Your will.
 
This is where hate speech laws should be enforced but then a spell in prison would make him a martyr and just fuel the flames of the homophobic bigots.

We don't have hate speech laws for this pastor to be subject to here in the US. Our Constitution guarantees us the right to free speech (regardless of how asinine that speech is) which is a double edged sword. We have to take the bad with the good since if the government can restrict his speech they can also restrict mine.

Do I like (or agree) with what this pastor had to say? Absolutely not.

Do I think that Pastors such as this man do more harm to the cause of Christ than good? Absolutely.

Do I defend his right to say it? Absolutely.

Its hard to consider a man standing the pulpit spewing this kind of hate a Child of God. We can only pray that God deals with him, and he repents. Because this is not Christ-like at all, and while many falter this is out and out hate. Its a shame that this will give non-believers another reason to down Christianity.

I will be in prayer for this man.

this guy is really out there. he did a sermon a few years ago about how any Church that had anything more than an organ to play music was a den of the devil's music. never listed to him again. by the way, he was back then a big-time KJV only dude.

Hate speech laws are NOT a good plan.

I will defend ANYONE'S right to speak their mind in public.

That said, my church is not "completely public", my home is not "completely public", and this forum is not "completely public".
Each of those places is privately owned, and the owners of any property can decide whether or not to throw you out for saying something stupid.

We need, for the sake of personal safety, to be able to say what we please on our OWN private property, or in public.

Another example of a preacher falsely putting hate teaching in the word of our Lord.
The congregation, or other church leaders need to pull this pastor aside and show him the error of his teaching and if he doesn't listen then they need to take him off the pulpit and appoint another.
To let a pastor teach hatred and murder to his congregation is bad, and to those in the congregation who actually listen and believe what he says will be headed to their own demise. We are to draw people away from this false teaching, and put an end to foolish talking in the church.

Pastor: "Kill gay people with HIV/AIDS".

I often wonder what Jesus of Nazareth would say if he were to walk into a modern church. Between unwillingness to give up any cash for charitable endeavours, right up to violence and hate preaching, I find it disingenuous that people still classify such people in the Christian bracket. These kinds of people dont represent the man at all. They should have another name. They're actually opposing Jesus teachings by doing what they do, so to call them against Christ, or anti-Christ, is a neatly fitting term.
