I posted this as i was doing some private study, which often times i am very busy so i am thankful to God i had some time. i looked into and studied some of this as i live in Tennessee and this KJVOnlyism is rampant. so i wanted to look into this. this isnt my first time. while not trying to be offensive i find this belief silly personally. but with that said i have no problems with the KJV as it was the first bible i ever had and many of my scripture memory actually comes from this translation. basically i wanted to know more thoughts on here get feed back and start a discussion on the subject. i will provide a video and even a screen shot. which clearly refutes those that say [FONT=&quot]the KJV hasn’t undergone any significant “revision or change” since 1611.

Hi soldierofchrist4ever24, let me say first off that I have terrible internet service so I can't watch the video but I think I'm up on all the arguments against the KJV. I would like to ask you a question if I may. Who do you think was in the fiery furnance with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego?

ok ill bite i know the textual argument this will probably result in, and let me let you know that was not my intention it was to truly seek, study, and learn. but it was no other Than my Lord Christ :)

Daniel3:25 is what you are referring to, i will give you a hint who is talking in this verse? is it a pagan? or a follower of the one true God? also reading the rest of the verses exegetically helps as well. there is much more to easily answer this argument but sadly i do not have time.

[h=2]KJVOnlyist lets learn together where this doctrine began :)[/h]

From my observation it's usually from one or more of the following

Blind acceptance of a teaching
Fearful condition of the heart
Exclusionism/Elitism
Mis-perception of God's name and nature as "baal/taskmaster/The LORD" instead of "YHWH/Salvation/Breath of life"
Some genuinely believe there's a translation accuracy, but some use the translation accuracy argument to support one of the above core fallacies.

I'm a KJV "mostlyist" because it does preserve some important poetic quality, but I read the most important mistranslated words quite differently than most.
Those words are "The LORD", "hell", and "eternal" with it's derivatives. And these are not exclusive to the KJV version.

I will let you in on a little secret that most people don't know about. There is a reason why the newer translations say "a son of the gods" and it has nothing to do with who was talking in that verse, but it has everything to do with preaching another Jesus and another gospel. Their Jesus is not my Jesus, those books are revealing another Jesus and another gospel... the New Age or Cosmic Christ, a son of the gods, not the Son of God.

Your argument is invalid also. You argue that Nebuchadnezzar was a pagan and knew nothing about the one true God, but this is incorrect. Nebuchadnezzar knew that it was Jesus Christ in the fiery furnace he called their God the most high God.

Dan 3:26 Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake, and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God, come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire.

Nope never argued just calmly responded :) but none the less thank you for your input. i would still disagree and say there is way more to it than that. and i really do wish i had time to type it all out as i do not want to pladgerize anyone so i am going to go through my studies and compile my own thoughts etc :) and this is going to take time.
*Edit*
And just to be clear i said he was Pagan and not a follower of the one true God, i never mentioned anything other than that, anyone can look above and see that for themselves, please lets keep this orderly and not put words in each others mouth thank you :)

I didn't mean it in a negative way Travis. I was just pointing out that the argument that Nebuchadnezzar didn't know that it was the son of God in the furnace is not true because he knew who was in the furnace. It's just a matter of who's account do we believe, do we believe Gods account in the KJV or do we believe the New Age bibles.

The older mss have it the way the new translations do. You say God said it the way the Kjv does. How can you prove this? You can't. Closer to originals time wise is more reliable.

KJV1611,
Is it passover or Easter in Acts 12.4?

KJV1611,
Is it passover or Easter in Acts 12.4?

Let's find out if it should be Easter of Passover. According to the book of Acts they took Peter during the days of unleavened bread. Any time you see something in parenthesis in the KJV pay close attention, God is trying to show us something.

Act 12:1 Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.
Act 12:2 And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.
Act 12:3 And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)
Act 12:4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.
Act 12:5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.

According to the book of Leviticus the 14th day of the month was passover. Then on the next day, the 15th day of the month, the feast of unleavened bread begins.

Lev 23:5 In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD'S passover.
Lev 23:6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.

If they took Peter during the days of unleavened bread, then Passover had already past. Now tell me, were they waiting for Easter to bring him forth to the people or were they going to wait a whole other year to bring him before the people. No, it shouldn't be Passover, it should be Easter just like the KJV says.

One lie that you have probably been told is that Easter is some Romanized Catholic church thing that was not observed by pagans at time of the book of Acts, but this is not true. Easter is the celebration of the sacred feminine AKA - Ishtar, Isis, Ashteroth, Gaia, Venus and probably many other names that I'm not aware of.

Hi Reformedjason, no one can prove it, we don't live by proof we live by faith. God said he would preserve his word and I believe him. If you could show me one irrefutable blatantly obvious error in the KJV then I would abandon the KJV. I don't have to worry about that scenario because it's not possible, the KJV is the inerrant word of God for English speaking people, God showed me that a long time ago. My faith is firm in God and his word.

We should use the perfect, time-tested version that the Holy Spirit ordained through the work of learned men. The language and words used will never pass away, and people should commit themselves to learning from the true Bible. All modern vernacular translations use flawed sources that deny the Lord's true words, and we should burn any Bible heretically translated using them.

Yep, if'n it were good 'nuff fer them 'postles, it be good 'nuff fer us'ns. I Like the KJV and use it a lot, I also use the NKJV more and more these days. The real source of truth is not a version of the scriptures...

Joh 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

Go us.....another Ruckmanite!!!!

I was never told the lie about Easter and knew about it as you described it...

Tell me, Does DOC still hate minorities and still use vile and vulgar profanity when people disagree with him? Does he still wish to physically kill all Apostates with hand grenades?

Oh and how are his 3 ex wives and kids doing? Have they been recovered from all those years of physicall and mental abuse? Does DOC still believe that having physical sex before getting married means you are married under the eyes of God, even though you are not married before the eyes of men? DOes DOC still believe the translators of the KJB were INFALLIBLE!?!?

That is some of the strangest reasoning I have seen in a long time...

Act 12:4 And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.

The word Easter appears exactly once in the entirety of the KJV. Wonder why there is no command to keep Easter, or no scripture that show us that Easter replaces the Feasts of the Lord. The word that was translated here for Easter is...

G3957
πάσχα
pascha
pas'-khah
Of Chaldee origin (compare [H6453]); the Passover (the meal, the day, the festival or the special sacrifices connected with it): - Easter, Passover.

And now for HeRose benefit...

G3957
πάσχα
pascha
Thayer Definition:
1) the paschal sacrifice (which was accustomed to be offered for the people’s deliverance of old from Egypt)
2) the paschal lamb, i.e. the lamb the Israelites were accustomed to slay and eat on the fourteenth day of the month of Nisan (the first month of their year) in memory of the day on which their fathers, preparing to depart from Egypt, were bidden by God to slay and eat a lamb, and to sprinkle their door posts with its blood, that the destroying angel, seeing the blood, might pass over their dwellings; Christ crucified is likened to the slain paschal lamb
3) the paschal supper
4) the paschal feast, the feast of the Passover, extending from the 14th to the 20th day of the month Nisan
Part of Speech: noun neuter

I could C&P it but you can look it up (it is somewhat long), Barclay recognizes it as the Passover and Days of Unleavened Bread.

From Bullingers...

Easter. Greek. to pascha, the Passover. Easter is a heathen term, derived from the Saxon goddess Eastre, the same as Astarte, the Syrian Venus, called Ashtoreth in the O.T.

From Albert Barnes...

Intending after Easter - There never was a more absurd or unhappy translation than this. The original is simply after the Passover ( μετὰ τὸ πάσχα meta to paschaThe word “Easter” now denotes the festival observed by many Christian churches in honor of the resurrection of the Saviour. But the original has no reference to that, nor is there the slightest evidence that any such festival was observed at the time when this book was written. The translation is not only unhappy, as it does not convey at all the meaning of the original, but because it may contribute to foster an opinion that such a festival was observed in the time of the apostles. The word “Easter” is of Saxon origin, and is supposed to be derived from “Eostre,” the goddess of Love, or the Venus of the North, in honor of whom a festival was celebrated by our pagan ancestors in the month of April (Webster). Since this festival coincided with the Passover of the Jews, and with the feast observed by Christians in honor of the resurrection of Christ, the name came to be used to denote the latter. In the old Anglo-Saxon service-books the term “Easter” is used frequently to translate the word “Passover.” In the translation by Wycliffe, the word “paske,” that is, “Passover,” is used. But Tyndale and Coverdale used the word “Easter,” and hence, it has very improperly crept into our King James Version.

John Gill matter of factly states...

intending after Easter,
or the passover,

It is a mistranslation of the word pascha. It should have been Passover.

You're a little too quick to judge bro. I don't follow him, support him or endorse him. Ruckman is a heretic and a blemish on KJV believers.

So what do you think, should it be Passover or Easter?

...do we believe Gods account in the KJV or do we believe the New Age bibles.
First you have to prove that the KJV is God's account, which you can't. Calling other bibles "New Age" reminds me of how Edison tried to show people that AC electricity was bad. He would electrocute a dog using AC electricity and then tell people it is too dangerous to have in your home. You labeling all other bibles New Age is just as wrong as claiming the KJV is an inspired version. It is totally groundless and with out merit.
