(KJV) Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

How does one do that?
How or what would you pray?
What you you be thankful for?
What is Paul telling us to be thankful for? Just things in general, or for the thing we are requesting?

You talk to God and tell Him what your request is..

How or what would you pray?

I would pray what i honestly thought needed saying in regard to the particular request..

What you you be thankful for?

For EVERYTHING... Past the point of coming into existence.. Because Everything i have ever received has come from God and everything i will ever receive will come by the grace of God.. From the air that i breath to the lungs i breath it with.. We should thank Him for Everything..

For Everything i believe.. I guess that's in General, But it is a Huge General..

I begin by thanking God for everything(My life, my salvation, all the blessings and lessons He gives me each day, family & friends; all the saved, all the unsaved. etc...). To summarize, everything means everything! I don't think that means we should be thankful for the negatives things, but rather be thankful that God's peace is available for us in hard times, and as we learn to think on better things, we know the God of peace is with us as well.

We learn by experience to thank the Father for everything, just all of His will. If it wi wonderul in appearance,, thank Him, if it seems awful at the time, thank hIM........ You will always see good out of any experience, always. Praise God, amen.

What about thanking God for the request you made known to Him?
After all, what is faith?

Mar 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, believe that ye receive them, when ye pray, and ye shall have them.

I change the order of the verse around a little to clarify what Jesus is actually saying.
That is to say, "believe you have received, WHEN YOU PRAY", NOT AFTER it manifests. Believe you have received, regardless of what the situation or circumstance say.
I believe, Paul is telling us to thank God for granting the thing we made known to Him in pray and supplication.
After all, God won't give what you haven't already received, and what better way to express that belief, than to thank and praise Him for the request you are making known or have made known to Him.

Luk 8:17 For nothing is secret, that shall not be made manifest; neither any thing hid, that shall not be known and come abroad.
Luk 8:18 Take heed therefore how ye hear: for whosoever hath, to him shall be given; and whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he seemeth to have.

Again, according to Mk 11:24, one must believe they already have the thing they asked for or are asking for with thanksgiving, WHEN THEY ARE PRAYING OR DURING THEIR PRAYER.
That is what I see Paul telling us.

I like the idea of this thread. :) We can even say an honest "Thanks" without anything particular attached. Consider it payment in advance for something we don't even know we'll ask him, but He does and He's already preparing it to be presented to us once we make our request. God is so good. :)
