Ooh! This thread takes me back, my sister and i used to love playing dressing up games when primary/1st school age. We went to a convent school and pretending to be nuns was a loved game for us.

Sad i know, even worse, we used stuff like doll cot blankets for veils etc. :D

Oh bless, most of you are obviously a similar age to my children. I loved loads of those games too, a Smurf one was one of my faves in the '80s and i let them play Sonic occasionally when the segas came out.

I had nintendo and sega master system. It was pressing buttons most of the time. Games on computer are kinda boring, maybe I grew out of them. Using a mouse or touch screen isn't the same.

* What things do you miss about old-time gaming, and what things are you glad they've changed?
Hmm in terms of video games?
I wasn't a gamer really as computers and video games were just kind of starting out. They were kind of a novelty. I think the techno -type music was kind of cool. And going up the levels. Trying to 'clock' the game and learning the cheats.
I think games as they evolved got more violent and graphic, by that time I had lost interest in gaming. Guys were playing shoot'ems and Grand Theft Auto, and Doom and Halo. And they were addictive.
So I don't know if games have changed for the better.

But an interesting thread, I like simple games. I remember when Angry Birds came out I think, was such a simple game but it was all the rage. As was Wordle. I used to play the Simpsons sandbox game, that was fun. I remember Where in the World is Carmen San Diego I think and also Sim City.

The children at school were into Minecraft and Roblox. But there's also violent games like Fortnite that children spend too much time on. People say internet and phones are a problem..it's more the video games?

I do remember those space invader machines that pinball evolved from, and pac man etc. I didn't have enough coins for them tho and they were more of a boy thing. I played make-believe games with dolls and soft toys. I liked playing card games, and Knuckle bones!!
