i "yousta"do this, i "yousta" do that!! tell us at least 1 thing you used to do. I'm not popular with threads but i think this 1 will move along quite well. if you've ever seen the guy in manhattan holding up comical signs at times square, that was me. 1st, i would yell out: "what does this say"!, then i would hold up a sign. here are what some of the signs had printed on them: "i can't read", "i don't know", "i am ignorant", "i am worthless", "i smell bad", "what", "what does this say", "say it again", "i can't hear you", "stop yelling", "call the cops now".

I yousta flip hamburgers at my Uncle's takeaway. I yousta earn $5 an hour. I'd butter the burgers (or margarine them), press the meat patties, melt the cheese, and add the tomato sauce. Then I'd press them together and bag them. I'd do this by twisting the top of the paper bag so they didn't fall out.
I also yousta salt and wrap the fish and chips in newspaper.

I yousta be an award winning artist in Orange County, until one day I just stopped drawing and was over it.

I have drawn since then to see if I could do it again but realized that I just wasn’t as great anymore, so I gave up and developed other skills.

What type of drawings?

What type of drawings?
Pastel, colored pencil, regular pencil drawings, pen drawings, paintings, 2d animations. I didn’t really know how to market myself and anyone I would sell drawings too would low ball me big time, so I decided it wasn’t profitable and gave up.

I met the mayor of the city of Orange at the time for my pastel drawing of my old baby sitter and when I was 21, my art was on the front cover of the Orange County Register because the principal of Orange High School banned my art from being displayed on the front cover of the end of high school senior magazine. We won in court and the principal was forced to send the magazine with my art on it to all of the Orange High School seniors.

Yes , me too ! It's beautiful and totally fascinating and I love it but , I'm not going in it or on it 🤪 .
I've been in it, but not too deep, and on it, once, but I do find it scary. Its size, its power, the undertow, and not knowing what's lurking beneath the water make me want to steer clear of it. I do like to read about it though in certain Bible passages, and it does make me think about how powerful God is.

I've worked in sales for years, so I hear you on the low-balling thing. I like to observe people, and it seems like they haggle with everyone but food vendors, no matter how overpriced they are. In fact, I am switching over to sales of a food item starting tomorrow. If you ever feel inclined to share any of your drawings, then I would like to see them. Especially the pencil drawings.

That is very sweet of you @passion84god
I have a bunch of drawings somewhere here on CC, maybe under my past user names @seantspence , @ATSTD or @forgivemegod . Not sure what threads they are in but usually in some type of share your creativity thread.

I’d pull them up right now but I’m kinda burnt out in life and I’m afraid of any criticism right now. (Just got out of a therapy session)

Here is one unfinished colored pencil drawing though that I gave away for free, sadly.

Nice. I am of the opinion that artists are spiritually aided in their work. I must have been at the donut shop when God was giving out that type of talent.

I agree with you.

I had a really traumatic childhood, so drawing was my outlet and basically therapy while growing up.

I am sorry about the traumatic childhood part, but I am happy that you are still with us and working your way through it. I have no idea what type of trauma you experienced, but I often wonder if people, especially parents, ever stop to consider how their actions or inactions can and often do scar others for life. Personally, I try to live a life void of offense towards God and men because I definitely believe in a future resurrection of both the just and the unjust. Acts 24:15-16. I most certainly want to be numbered with the first group, and not the second.

My dad was never a Christian and actually despises religious folk, even though the woman he married after my mom is Catholic. I have talked to him many times about Jesus, God and my faith and he said “it doesn’t matter how many times you tell me, I will never believe in God, I will never believe in Jesus.” So I gave up on him entirely. I have tried. I don’t have energy to convince people that God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit are real. I don’t have the energy to directly tell anyone about following Jesus, unless it’s spirit led.

My way of sharing Jesus now a days, is by creating gobs and gobs of Christian AI music and releasing it to the public via a music distributor that spreads my AI music worldwide.

Instead of me sharing Jesus in the world, one person at a time, I spread a wide net and try to capture a ton of fish.

You can draw and create music too? Now I know who took my spot in line when I was out getting donuts. Of course, now I have to ask if I can hear one of your songs.

Sorry about your dad. You're right. We cannot convince anybody whose own will is set against convincing. It's sad. And scary. Very scary.

All this talk about donuts has made me hungry. I need to grab some lunch. If you can link me to one of your songs, then I will certainly listen to it when I get back.

I need to say that I did not mean to dismiss your dad in my last response. I will be praying that God makes himself known to him. Whether through some sort of road to Damascus-like experience, a dream, a vision, or whatever.

Now I can go eat lunch.
