I wondered if you were Korean and also thought you may love Korea

Seoul dear, this is an amazing thread. I spent the whole evening reading the different comments and having the time of my life. it is amazing to know what runs in the back of people's minds and get to know them better.

I always thought you love Seoul or may be you are Korean. and indeed your pain defines your calling.

oh I actually search the Bigfatdoofus and it got me laughing.

Actually I have read this post and tried replying twice and it won't go through. so let me just say this
I have gone through the comments and I feel a little boring and lazy. Edith is my name and I never had second thoughts on the name. probably too lazy to think of a name. however I many people call me mom, mommy, mama, I accept it because it gives me a psychological majority over them.

this post made my evening. I read through and feel closer to the group than before,

seoulsearch/Bigfatdoofus
Sub/ugly
snackersmom is not a mom
Lynx is also Isaac
Margenta overcame like the daughter of Zion that she is
enril is Prince
MrE keeps the mystery and I probably would never know this mystery

thank you it made my day
I'm so glad you're enjoying the thread, @Edith!

This is the whole reason I write these threads -- to help people get to know each other and hopefully, not feel so alone.

I know it's a delicate balance between what we can share online and what we need to keep private for our safety, but I'm someone who needs to get to know the actual person behind the screen, and usually draw in the same kind of people.

With so much isolation in today's society, I think discussions like this are important to help people feel connected to others.

We're so glad you're here!

And what an honor that people call you Mom. I have many single friends who are indeed spiritual parents to many. :)

God bless you for all you do to help others!

I assume my name is self explanatory...

But for many who likely do not know my story...

Eight years ago this month - I joined this forum after wife1.0 left our marriage, family and home after 26 years and three amazing kids - youngest was still in high school.
This forum helped serve as my initial lifeline - with so many amazing people (like @seoulsearch) with open hearts, compassion, empathy along with reinforcing our essential foundation in faith and hope... for a brighter tomorrow...
- In addition to helping me while I was at my lowest... This forum also helped me to realize how good it felt to help give the same reassurance, faith and hope to others... In doing so, this forum has helped me to find my purpose(s) and callings (see below)...

My Avator is one of my Great Pyrenees named 'Spirit' ... because he was my great white hope. :)

Childhood and nick names over Life:
- Gordito - my mom called me Gordito when I was young bc I was a little chubby boy... She never called me 'Late for Dinner" ;)
- 'Billy Joe Jim Bob' - my mom and sisters and family called me 'Billy Joe Jim Bob' when I was a kid...

- 'Fair Frank' - as a 1st Lt Company Executive Officer - my Commanding Officer gave me the nickname 'Fair Frank' - because I was too honest to a fault..
- 'Show-Stopper 1' - as an Major Assistant Operations Officer - my peers nick named me 'Show-Stopper 1'... - because I had a knack for identifying the weaknesses in a concept of operations plan...

- 'FightingSpirit' - my name was 'FightingSpirit' on the USA Judo Forum as a judo dad, coach and personal trainer...When my oldest son was a 2016 Olympic Judo Prospect...
- 'Pops' - my adult kids and their significant others call me 'Pops'...

If I were to be able to change my name here, hmmm maybe:
- 'The Rebuilder' - not that I am completed just yet - as it feels as if I am in a constant state of striving to 'rebuild' in pursuit of my purpose striving to be the person HE has called me to become... I've helped facilitate several Christian-based divorce (& widowed) support groups - my favorite was called 'Rebuilding.'
- 'Christian Patriot Truther' - for those who have been following my contributions in another thread in this forum ;) ...
- 'William Wallace' - from Braveheart - as at the end of the day he pursued a cause bigger than him - and ultimately never experienced that 'happily ever after' dream for himself that he hoped for everyone ...
- 'The Advocate' - as an INFJ I am inherently wired as an advocate, counselor and coach... Maybe I missed my calling as a research analyst (old curmudgeon) for the Marine Corps... As I constantly find myself 'Advocating' for the service to have the moral fortitude to do right for the best interest of our Marines and their future force capabilities...
Great to see you, Sole!!

I enjoy your posts in the Profound Thoughts thread! :)

And please forgive me, but I think of all the names you listed, I'm kind of partial to "Billy Joe Jim Bob." I just like the playfulness behind it! :)

Thank you so much for the kind words, and I hope you'll stop by more often! :giggle:

Hi @seoulsearch :):)
Thank you, I always enjoy your writing creativity, and deeply unique approaches and dynamic ways for encouraging 'profound' interactions and exchanges amongst our forum members... You are a pillar for all that is good with this place...
:LOL I can't say that I am surprised about your leaning towards the 'Billy Joe Jim Bob' nick name... I had to throw a little humor into my response - lol, after all it was another one of your spawned fun thread topics... ;)

You know, I do believe that everything happens for a reason... I do believe that the timing of your thread here has coincidentally and conveniently helped me to find my way back to these fun Christian Singles Forum 'family friendly' threads ...
lol, don't slaughter the fattened calf just yet... but I do feel like the Prodigal Son or William Thatcher (Knights Tale) who has finally realized it's time to find my way back home... :);)

Thank you so much for the kind words, Sole. I kind of feel like that's my calling here, and in life in general -- to try to bring people together. All of my threads are designed with that goal of trying to get people talking to each other, both here and in real life.

We are happy to have you back! If you don't see any new threads here in Singles, be sure to check out Family and Miscellaneous as well.

I tend to post more in Family these days as we've picked up quite a few married regulars in our threads and we want to be accommodating to their participation. :) But some here in Singles also post in Miscellaneous -- so you never quite know where the latest party will be!

You hit on the very reason why I enjoy this site and medium so much -- people can come and go as life dictates, and mostly pick right up where they left off, whether it's been days, or years.

I myself come and go with the winds of life, and it's always comforting to see familiar faces like you when I get back. :)

Welcome home!

Awe... shucks... Thank you @seoulsearch for your always kind, uplifting and warm welcoming words...

I am so happy for you and that you have found your 'purposeful' use of your writing skills and unique personality to positively help and impact so many people's lives here in CC!!!

Thanks for what you do here!!

lol, in my life (work, personal pursuit of purpose) I use 'writing' as a therapeutic means to have peace of mind - saying what I need to say - when I fill the need to get things off my chest... I'm not a real 'writer' by any means more of 'journal-er'...
lol, I have many draft articles and book ideas - that are still just ideas captured in my notes library...

I'm sure you may be familiar with the Writer's Life Cartoons and Comics - funny

Thought you might enjoy a couple of these...

Almost Heaven West Virginia
L4H3 was the guy who got spanked if I remember right. There were serious doctrinal issues as I remember.

Watch out for Livesforhim#3,4,5

They were not simply disagreements, but gross heresy.
Maybe I should be surprised that he wasn't banned for them.

17Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. 18For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.

I had always wondered if that was the story behind your username but it seemed too personal to ask. Thank you for sharing and I pray the Lord restores whatever the locusts have eaten! 🙏
