well, in Reality Willie, you're usually talking to me, 'pink', and so, don't know when your birthday is,
but I will be 71' in three months - humble yourself, 'old cowboy'!
Seriously one of the reasons we chose to move into the city. Cement backyard. Lawnmower not required, and yet, it is our garden too. I like plants. Grass just keeps needing to be mowed. lol
Pour salt on slugs in your garden. End product is raisin-slug. (Do NOT eat slugs, because... eww!)
And speaking of slugs. put pennies (copper pennies, in case other countries were smart enough to give up copper for pennies), end to end around your leafy veggies (slug food, in a slug's mind.) To a slug, copper is like those invisible fences for dogs. It gives them a little shock, so they decide not to crawl that way anymore.
I got sick from black popcorn once. Except, I really didn't. I got food poisoning from something I had for dinner, and then ate black popcorn a couple hours later, when the cause became effect. All I saw was the black kernels from the popcorn leaving, so had it in my mind the black popcorn made me sick. Still can't eat black popcorn. Good thing regular popcorn doesn't have black kernels, because that I can eat. lol
For particularly greasy plastic containers, add dish detergent to your damp scrubbing sponge and scrub plastic without water until it's all soapy. Rinse. It's degreased.
Get itchy dry skin in winter? Desitin—like for a baby's bun—works much better than lotion or Vaseline. I discovered this by accident when I was rummaging through the medicine cabinet looking for lotion and came across a seven year old tube of Desitin that was for my son. lol
I'd rather have sweet than savory any day. But if the corn has already been ruined... er, if it has already been cooked, then yes we need a lot of butter for it.
Add a few slices of mushrooms into your meatloaf. (Just one large mushroom does it, but if you like mushrooms, feel free to add more anyway.) For some reason, it keeps it moister.
Desserts --
-- Don't have quite enough milk? Make up the difference with applesauce.
-- Does half a cup to a cup of oil sicken you just thinking about it? Replace with applesauce. The dessert may taste a bit applely, but at least you won't get too much grease.
For poison ivy itch slather on some Preparation H.
I was working on a job site one morning a few years ago and got into some poison ivy. By mid afternoon I was itching like crazy. I walked across the street to a 7-11 and asked if they had anything for the itch. A truck driver who was paying for gas told me to put some Preparation H on it. It worked like a champ! lol
I've heard conflicting reports about the apple cider vinegar thing... I looked into it and ultimately decided it was a placebo effect more than anything.
for dry cracked hands....coat your hands in vaseline and put two old socks over hands and go to bed...in morning....as supple as can be and cracks gone....
