According to Og Mandino's The Greatest Miracle In The World, there are four laws of happiness and success.

Count your blessings.

Proclaim your rarity.

Go another mile.

Use wisely your power of choice.

And one more, to fulfill the other four. Do all things with love ...
love for yourself, love for all others, and love for God.

Most of the time a child's parents are actually looking out for their kids best interests.

Listening to them is usually a good idea.

To make your dog obey you, make the dog sit before you feed him. This enforces in the dog's mind that you are the pack leader, because instead of just dumping the food out you are actively controlling access to food. If you just deliver the food you're the janitor. If you require the dog to sit first, you become The Boss in the dog's mind.

Somebody might not yet know this: You can use " " to google for a specific phrase instead of just a specific word.

"This is the way of love" lyrics
will search for ONLY the complete phrase "This is the way of love" and anything about lyrics.

Set your phone alarm to some kind of tune that a person might use as a ringtone.

When you're in a conversation you want to get out of, pretend to use your phone to look up something, but really set the alarm to go off in two minutes. Then wait until it goes off and pretend it's a call that you have to take.

When you're on a car trip take along a couple cans of beans with a pop-top lid. Use them as a litmus test for roadside beggars. Say "Well I have some food if that'll help" and offer them the cans. If they're really hard up they'll take the food. Then you give them money instead, because they are really in need. If they're faking they'll probably turn the food down.

If your ankles hurt after a long day on the job, switch to zero-drop shoes, shoes where the heel and toe are exactly the same thickness. It will take a bit to adapt, but you can wear shoes and still walk as though you are barefoot. My ankles never hurt any more.

Speaking of feet...

Buy a lot of socks that are all the same. Life is too short to match socks. I can reach in and grab any two socks and they match by default.

Always keep in mind that most of the people around you are just trying their best to cope with a world that sometimes really sucks.

Alcoholics, drama queens (or kings,) cranky old goats, kids who do outrageous things for attention - we're all trying to get through life the best we can and we all use the things we have found work for the circumstances we face.

Mind you, that doesn't relieve people of personal responsibility for their choices. But when an alcoholic has found that he can use alcohol to make life go away and leave him alone for a while, it can be like a drowning man clutching a life preserver. It's gonna take a lot to convince him to let go of it.

Of course this doesn't help a bit with solving people's problems. But we can ignore the drama queens and cranky old goats with more grace when we understand they're just trying the best they can to deal with life. Being a cranky old goat really does work very well to keep people at bay. It makes a very sad life, but at least they don't have to deal with people as much.

To get all those bags from the store to the car, and from the car to the kitchen, in ONE trip... tie all the handles together into one big knot. Or if you have, like, 20 different bags, maybe two big knots. You can carry a whole shopping trip into the house in one trip.

(Some women claim it's a guy thing to get all the bags inside in one trip. I've seen women do it too.)

Bags? The local supermarket doesn't have bags anymore... not that I need them. I use bins. The store got wise and brought in a special order of bins with their logo, but a different colour to the ones in store.

Always ask questions before giving answers. Sometimes ask questions instead of giving answers.

Whether the matter at hand is "which phone/computer is best for me," "my job is terrible" or "I'm so depressed right now," there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all solution. You need information before you can find a solution that fits this particular problem.

Also asking questions helps people talk about their problems. Also it shows them you are actually paying attention.

There's a couple of ways to open a blister pack.
1. Take your blister pack to the nearest emergency room and cut it open with a knife. (Good)
2. Ask someone you don't like to open your blister pack for you. (Better)
3. Open the stupid thing with a can opener (BEST)

oh, and also - use a carabiner - a big one that can fit your hand - and strap all the handles of your grocery bag in it and voila' a master handle.

Life hack...

If buying something is way too easy...
You are likely paying too much.

IE used car vx new car. Much easier to buy a new car than a used one.
Paying for a new car is much more difficult than a used one. Especially if you use lot financing...

Every time I went to the bank for a loan for a used car it was annoying and boring. But the one time I used lot financing I deeply regretted it.

And since that time I've found that if it's too easy to buy something...there's another difficult way to buy it that saves me a lot of money.

I always fill a cooking pot with water after cooking something, so that it is much easier to clean later. Also, I use one plate and one bowl for most meals, so the dishes don't pile up.

Can you tell I hate doing the dishes? lol

I really need to look into those shoes

Feng shui actually works.
But dont expect everyone to understand it.
Basically in a nut shell its all about location, location, location. If something is in the wrong place, move it.

Everything has its place. Your life will work better when things are in their proper place, its zoned or ergonomic for effiency and comfort.

for example, ok to take a computer. It works better for you if you can stand rather than sit at one.
or say gardening, dont make the mistake of not observing the sun and put your vege garden in the shade.

study a few design principles, like permaculture. Close the loops so you are not wasting things. Be intentional when you buy things ...look for quality over quantity. Make use of the resources you already have.

Bins come in multiple shapes and sizes. A garbage bin is generally taller. Storage bins and recycle bins look more like this:

I use my Rollser thing-a-ma-jig for groceries, as well as laundry. Very handy!

It is like a backpack on wheels :D

There is no way I could carry ten bags of groceries at once!

I never even buy that much at on LOL
