There are some huge signature images that take up a lot of vertical space. Multiply that by 4-5 replies the same user might make per page and it creates a lot of unnecessary scrolling to get to actual responses. Would be nice to limit signature image height to a reasonable size, maybe 150px or less. Just a thought.

Might as well address text signatures, as well. If character count could be capped in the code to maybe 2 lines, it would be helpful for less scrolling and general readability within a thread.

I would say reducing the size of the images would be a good step because it can interfere with scrolling.

I'm being optimistic and hoping they might hit two birds with one code update. Some text signatures are a long paragraph's worth.

I agree but maybe some people don't know how to reduce image size?

This should be done on the back end via code. It would automatically scale images down and limit character count without users doing anything.

Yes? I don't post gigantic images. If I want to post anything I scale it myself. (snaps suspenders and grins)

Talking specifically about signature images and text which repeat numerous times on a page and therefore cause scrolling and readability issues.

Oh let's argue about, shall we? For cryn' out loud. Maybe present a form so people can only answer your specific questions. And get a sense of humor too cause you most assuredly need one. :giggle::coffee:

Who peed in your cheerios? His last post was a logical reply. With your previous post, I was also getting the impression you did not know this thread was about SIGNATURE images. If he had not clarified it, I probably would have.

Honestly it does get a bit tiresome. I've already seen that huge picture. Very nice. I can tell you are quite proud of it. That size is good for one post. Having to see that big honking thing every time you want to make a post? That's a bit much.

Backend fix, I dunno. Having an automatic rescaler specifically for signatures seems a bit beyond the scope of this forum's coding. It might be possible, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Ain't gonna happen brother.

Yeah, if such was to happen it would probably have to be an edict from the powers that be, and enforcing it.

Which is only slightly less likely to happen, as it will cause much rocking of boats and flaring of tempers, and probably some people gathering up their huffs and leaving.

It's a pretty easy fix if there's a dev available who works on this site, but I know what you're saying and they may want to just maintain it as is. Just figured I would throw it out there since they're asking for suggestions.

You know I am getting more than a little annoyed with the loose words here on CC. That was never allowed before. Tell you what, take your peed, add the poo thingie and we'll call it a day. Further, I don't need a referee so maybe just MYOB and thank you very much and such. :giggle: It's not very erudite of you.

FYI, I actually do know what the thread is about. I honestly cannot understand why anyone makes an issue of what I said other than you need to get a life.

It seems every single thread has to turn into some kind of arguing over the stupidest things or correcting others or insulting. It's boring and y'all just need to stop. Every thread does not have to be a hill to die on.

Yeah, how you do dat? Why bother?

Well it seems some folks are botheree by what others post image wise, although I don't think sig pics that take up half the page are the best idea either. If you have windows, you should have the ability to create smaller versions of whatever you want to post but I don't see you posting images anyway so whatever. ;) Honestly, the way those 2 got back to me, you would think I had killed someone.

Yes, hmm... I can see how every thread you participate in could indeed become a hill to die on.

Oh well. This forum has been kind of quiet lately anyway. This should provide some much-needed entertainment.

Rant on, good pine. Rant on.

So you are good with your urine comment? Good to know. I hope you can expand on your vocabulary soon and in a more productive and temporate way.
