Little green rep dots

The thing is. I don't see myself as important as I am just another guy that lives on this planet no more special then anyone else that lives here. I just live day to day like anyone else.

Am I sad? I don't think so. Could things in my life be a lot better? Yes but they could also be much worse.

I am a simple man A solitary man.

Ok here it is..

It has to do with how active you are in the forums. On the other website that I'm on they call it your Health number. Its some kind of algorythm that takes into account how many total posts you have versus how many posts you average per day.

People with high total post numbers and a high average post per day will have the most green bars.

You can see your Total Posts number and your Post Per Day number in your profile under the "About Me" tab in the Statistics section. You can also see everyone else's on their profile so you can compare and see if my theory holds up.

well that makes perfect sense, I didn't have internet at home for the last 14 months!
 
And here I always thought those little green bars were part of a popularity contest...

So now you're telling me that all I have to do to get them is to make random posts all over the forum such as, "Nyah nyah, this post is going to get me another green dot, 'cause that's just how I roll!!" each and every day???

It IS true!!! We really DO control our own destiny!!! And I am foreseeing a lot of green bars in my future. :p
 
Why thank you Mr Miyagi, (I realise I am mixing martial art refs here but I couldn't think of a kung-fu person off the top of my head!)

Rep, reputation, is something you give others. At the bottom left of each post is a little star, clicking on that bring up the rep box. You can add a comment, or leave it blank, click ok and it gives that person rep. Mind you, it doesn't say to the person WHO gave the rep, which gets very annoying. So i always sign mine so people know who gave it.

Who are the 'most of us' that do this? Only people i know who ask those questions are newer users who don't know about it, or understand it. I've yet to meet a regular user who worries about it.

Maybe I was talking about myself and all my other personalities, Ug.

I have noticed a considerable change in a few members reputation points since this thread started. ^^() Interesting...

Mine is quite long winded,it says "Jim...we see that you do most of your hiking free form. Like John Muir,we ask that you enter the wilderness with nothing more than your journal and a child-like sense of wonder." - Admin.
 
Mine, in true bipolar fashion, alternately reads "Why are you online? Spend more time making crafts that even Etsy & Pintris can't top and making sure the house looks like June Clever on Speed lives there and has decided to make it her life goal to shame Better Homes & Gardens, Architectural Digest, and Dwell" and "Why haven't I seen you around lately? I miss you. Do you not even Like me anymore? am I no good to you... " and so on in a 45 minute rant.
