What is up with the troll comments? I can’t imagine you guys are over the age of 10. I made this post for comfort, so to comment something irrelevant on a Christian page is annoying and childish. A lot of us come to Christian chat rooms because unlike Reddit etc it is supposed to be a safer space for kingdom people not trolls. I do hope the moderators do something about this because you never know what someone is going through, and it may not seem like a big deal but the last thing I need during such a lonely time is someone being petty, ignorant and childish. I truly hope these aren’t grown adults acting this way, if so it is embarrassing.
Hi
@SpiritSense55,
Welcome to CC!
I definitely understand how hard it is to find spaces online to talk about life's issues in a Christian community. I hope you'll find fellowship and value in your time here.
I understand your frustration with posting a serious topic and getting a few jovial responses thrown into the mix.
It might be helpful to know a little about the community here in the CC Singles Forum. I started here in 2009, and I'd say back then, the median age range was early 20's through mid-30's -- so, a lot of people posting things very similar to your original post.

Not that people of ALL ages don't feel the same way, but fast forward to 2025, and I think many things here have changed.
I believe the median age range here is now older, with most being in their mid-30's to mid-50's (of course, we have people of all ages here, but I think that age range it the majority audience now.)
Because of this, you're going to find a lot of different attitudes about singleness, marriage, and the hope of finding a Christian spouse on this site. Many here have already been married and are now single because of abuse, death or abandonment by a spouse, or other reasons that are between them and God.
Many are raising children and even grandchildren alone because of these life events, and though many still hope to find love, there are a lot of other factors involved at this stage in life.
Because of this, many of us have kind of developed a "If you don't laugh about it sometimes, you'll never stop crying" attitude and that's why you'll find a lot joking mixed into the threads. Several Singles forum members have also been here for many years, and regularly banter with others.
The troubles of this life have left many of us battle-scarred and it often comes out in the form of playful replies. While many of us still hope for love and we always hope that others will find the love they're looking for, we also hope that they won't go through the heartaches many of us have been through.
Again, welcome to the forum, and I hope you won't be discouraged from continuing to post.
