I understand that people say that sons of God typically referred to angels, and yet Adam was called a son of God. Deuteronomy 14:1 begins with a declaration of identity: "You are children of the LORD your God." And God's says to His covenant people in Jeremiah 3:19-20~ Then I said, ‘How I long to make you My sons and give you a desirable land, the most beautiful inheritance of all the nations!’ I thought you would call Me ‘Father’ and never turn away from following Me. But as a woman may betray her husband, so you have betrayed Me, O house of Israel,” declares the LORD. People often say it must be one way or another, and yet there are really no definitive verses either way., although the reason given for flooding the earth never mentions angels at all, nor is there any evidence anywhere else in Scripture of angels manifesting as human-like creatures aside from performing the express will of God.
