I see from your avatar a familiar face….I have a pair of lorikeets who visit regularly, that I named George and Shirley…they boss my chickens around when it comes to food….they have no table manners and want it all for themselves. LOL…just as well they are beautiful…even if they are bossy with all the other birds.

Are you SDA by any chance? I understand that the Sabbath is an important observance to their faith, but one that I have yet to see applied to Christians in Scripture….AFAIK, Jewish law was not incumbent upon Christians even though Jewish Christians could still observe it if they wished, as there was no law against it either. But it was not forced on Gentiles in Bible times. The majority of Christians today are not Jewish…

So as I understand it, if anyone wants to set aside a day of rest and spiritual refreshment, there is no law of God that says you cannot do that….Saturday is our seventh day of the week, but only Jews observed a set seventh day Sabbath…..Christendom changed that to Sunday for reasons that most people are not aware of….do you know the reason?
Heb 4:11 is a direct command in the NT to keep the 7th day sabbath.

And yes, Catholicism changed the day to Sunday.
It was a time when Christians and Jews were both being persecuted by Rome.
The leaders of the church at that time figured they needed to separate themselves from Judaism and adopted the first day of the week in honor of the Roman sun god.

Would you like those historical references?

Welcome. We get Rainbow Lorikeets and Eastern Rosellas here. They ignore the miserable Noisy Miners also, which is a bonus. TMS rarely misses an opportunity to promote SDA obsession with the sabbath law given to Israel. There are other sabbath promoters also. Some are more aggressive than others. Thanks for adding your voice to the truth about the sabbath.

I live in Frankston Victoria btw.
As a life long Bible student, I like to share what I have learned over many decades of study….I like to let the Bible speak for itself….it sometimes tells a very different story to what the churches do….I am a serial researcher and I just love a meaty discussion….

I live on the south coast of NSW on 3 acres with lots of of kangaroos, wallabies, wombats and bird life….
Those who live in cities really don’t know what they are missing when they don’t commune with nature every day to feed their inner being…and bring it closer to our Creator.
Just taking care of our goats and chickens is a daily privilege….and all these critters never cease to make me smile.

Just the other day the white cockatoos decided to take my washing off the line by undoing all the pegs, and deposited it all on the ground….so mischievous? You gotta laugh! 😂

If you read the whole chapter you will see that “entering into God’s rest” was an ongoing period of time for Him….not just a day of the week for humans. There is no command for Christians do observe a Sabbath on any day of the week.

Roman sun worship was the basis for Roman Catholicism…the “weeds” of Jesus parable surfaced very early in Christian history….Roman Catholicism turned Zeus into Jesus, and all the sun symbols are there in abundance. St Peter’s Square for example is not a spare at all, but a Babylonian sun wheel with a obelisk in the center, imported from Egypt and symbolic of the sun god Ra.

And the symbol of the sun is everywhere…all hiding in plain sight.

‘The sun god’ was renamed ‘God the son’ and the Roman Church was ruled by a pagan Emperor who never really converted to Christianity, but presided over the councils that determined her doctrines.

Ever the astute politician, he found a way to consolidate his religiously divided empire by providing a fusion of the two main faiths, and mandating just one state religion….so everyone was happy…the pagans didn’t have to give up their favorite festivals, and the Christians were content to put a “Christian” label over them….and the takeover was complete. The Crusades were proof positive that true Christianity had vanished. Genuine Christianity did not advocate bloodshed.

This move did not ‘Christianize’ the paganism…it paganized the Christianity….and still does to this day.

It was pagan Roman religion disguised as Christianity….still practiced….with most of her doctrines intact.
