Losing Salvation ?!

Okay, good. I'm reading quickly before I head out the door, but it sounds like you agree that the author of Hebrews is addressing bonafide, real, saved believers. Now you're in a place to understand the warnings to these true believers and how they mean if they stop believing they will be lost, not saved.

Oh, by the way, there is no one that I've seen in all of professing Christianity except two or three people, none of which post here in this forum, that I know of that say salvation is earned by your works of the law.

The argument is that you have to continue to believe, not work, in order to continue to be saved. That's nothing more than the traditional Calvinist argument, except that non-OSAS adds the fact that the believer can indeed stop believing (and thus, be lost).

And if you think continuing in the belief that started when you first believed and which is still going is a work that can not justify and is a meritorious work of self-righteousness then I issue the same challenge to you--post the verse that says trust in Christ is a work that can not justify and I will exit this and all Christian forums and never return to utter a word about continuing in your trust in Christ to be saved. And before I leave, I will announce in big bold letters that I was wrong.

Just keep trusting in Christ and it's all your's baby, all your's, and no one can take it away from you.

Your trust in Christ, made possible by the gracious gift of faith (the ability to know something really is true), is what has qualified you for the Royal Pardon. Just keep believing. Those who believe to the very end are the ones who will be saved in the very end.

If POSSIBLE!!!!! even the elect would be deceived. There is nothing anyone could ever say, nor offer that would allow me to take the mark

I submitt knowingly that if you believe you can lose salvation then you never had it to begin with.

Nothing can separate me from the Love of the Father nothing.

Trusting that Christ is the just and acceptable payment for your sin debt.

You're able to do that because you accepted his free gift of faith that made you see that the story of Jesus is really true. You could not know it was true on your own, that's why the ability to know it's true is a free gift given to us by God. And once we know Jesus is for real we then place our trust--our believing--in him for the forgiveness and pardon of sin. That's the gospel. That's the good news of salvation.

Yes, utimately believers are not deceived into returning to their unbelief. They do it willingly and knowingly. There is no forgiveness for such an offense. That's why if the believer commits such an offense (unbelief) they are lost. There's no sacrifice remaining for the person who rejects the only sacrifice for sin there is--Jesus Christ. That's the one sin Christ can't cover--the sin of not trusting in Christ as the payment for your sin.

ONLY in the sense that people who believe (and thus, are born again) grow up into obedience to God's commands.

The obedience is the result of believing/trusting. The obedience itself is not what secures justification. Your believing/trusting does that all by itself. Your works then simply confirm the justification that you have by your faith in Christ all by itself.

quite an interesting question.

believing is to trust, to count on, to rely on, to know that you know that some one I.E. won't leave you when it gets tough, and yes the person or God has to show you regularly that there is nothing you could do to make them stop loving you. Belief is the substratum of every thing we hold dear.
belief is never about what we do, but always about what the others do.

Jesus is perfect,

the blood covers your imperfections, so that we might boldly enter the Throne of Grace. When the Father looks at you he sees the perfection of Jesus.

Remember The Father knew you before, he knows you now, and he knows all of your future, which is his past. nothing you could do or have done, will make himm look at you differently.
2000 years ago when Jesus died how many of your future Sin did he forgive

Hi Loveme1, if your works are not perfect, (mine are not), then you must stand in Gods grace and His Glory not yours, simple, clear, Gospel. As it say's; "through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God."Romans5:2

To receive the Royal Pardon we must be Faithful and strive to please the Messiah by our works.. for He will judge us Faithful by them. Names can be blotted out.... for it is written.

So to believe is to Hear the Messiah's Testimony and adhere to it.. for His words give Eternal life.

If we set our heart on the things He speaks then we live by Faith.

GOD gave His begotten Son to pay the price of our sin.. death... Now we are to be born again of the Holy Spirit and worship GOD in Spirit and Truth.

We are free to Love and serve GOD in our Liberty.. A Gracious GOD indeed.

The High Priest will decide if we are Faithul and worthy of His reward... we believe and in the newness of Spirit work a labour of love.

Our Boast is the Grace and Mercy of GOD bestowed upon us...
 
Worthy is the Lamb.. so Repent and believe to the saving of your souls.

1 Peter 1

2Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: 23Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
24For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:

Agree thank you, amazing how God's love motivates the believer. "But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, [SUP]5 [/SUP]he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit," Titus3:4,5.

What imperfect works? I checked with Christ and he says he knows nothing about your lack of perfection in regard to works because you believe in him for the forgiveness of those imperfect works. They are wiped away through your continued faith in Christ. You have the blood Christ through your continuing faith to cover your imperfect works. You are perfect in Christ, right now, despite your sins, as long as you stay in Christ. That's why you need to stay in Christ to stay saved from the penalty of your sins. But if you abandon Christ in a willful and knowing unbelief you will no longer have Christ's sacrifice to cover your imperfect life.

Yes. God is the one who has qualified us for eternal life in the kingdom of God:

12giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light." (Colossians 2:12 NASB)

He qualified us through our trust in Jesus to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, apart from the sorry attempt of our works to do that.
