Jesus Christ is the example to follow, who shows everything to believe in, and what salvation is. Salvation is not the offerings made by the Jews, but it is all that is testified in the scriptures, of the Son of God fulfilling all the will of God, to preach in the great congregation, to not hide the word of God, to not hide the righteousness of God, ( not hidden in His heart/kept from others, as the law of God was in His heart to declare it.) but declaring the faithfulness of God and His salvation, HIs lovingkindness and truth all told by Christs works to the great congregation.
We are told where salvation is, it is near to those who fear God. ( to be glorified by God. Romans 8:30.)
Psalms told how the cup of salvation would be taken, in the name of the Lord. How salvation is far from the wicked, ( salvation is near those who fear Him.) the wicked do not seek the statutes/commandments/right ways of the Lord.
The pleasure of the Lord is in His people, the meek who He makes beautiful with salvation.
Psalm 40:6 Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.
7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,
8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
9 I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: lo, I have not refrained my lips, O Lord, thou knowest.
10 I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation.
Psalm 85:9 Surely his
salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.
Psalm 116:13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord.
14 I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.
Psalm 119:155 Salvation is far from the wicked: for they seek not thy statutes.
Psalm 149:4 For the Lord taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with
salvation.
Jesus took the cup of salvation, ( He had to give His blood to earn salvation for us.) and we have to drink this same cup worthily.
The Spirit of the Lord rests upon the Messiah, the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord. With righteousness He then judges the poor, and reproves with fairness for the meek of the earth. ( makes the meek beautiful with salvation/slays the wicked with the breath of His lips/the wicked are far from salvation, they seek not His statutes.)
The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord is the stability of His times, and strength of salvation, the fear of the Lord is His treasure. Christ gave that knowledge of salvation: the fear of the Lord. (Jeremiah 32:40.)
Luke 22:20 Likewise also the
cup after supper, saying, This
cup is the new testament in
my blood, which is shed for you.
1 Corinthians 11:27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
Isaiah 11:2 And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord;
3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears:
4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth: with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked.
Isaiah 33:6 And wisdom and
knowledge shall be the stability of thy times, and strength of
salvation: the fear of the Lord is his treasure.
Luke 1:77 To give
knowledge of
salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins,
Jesus both earned salvation and retained it, that is what we are testified, that is what we do the same. Jesus putting on righteousness as a breastplate, a helmet of salvation, He was just and lowly, riding on a donkey, having salvation, having Godly sorrow gives repentance, not to need to be repeated, by taking the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, to stand in the very same salvation of our Lord Jesus Christ, in the truth, having on the breastplate of righteousness, ( retaining salvation just as Christ did, it cant be any different to follow Him, or we would be following someone else to another and the wrong place.) to work out your salvation with fear of God, as Christ did all through that Spirit of the fear of the Lord, to not be as those drunk in the night not caring what they do, and telling others to also do as you please, but to know the importance of being sober, to put on the correct breastplate of faith and love, the right hope of salvation for your helmet as Christ had on, to know that being chosen to salvation is through sanctification of the Spirit, ( the Spirit of the fear of the Lord.) and belief of the truth, how the captain of our salvation was made perfect through HIs sufferings, proving how essential what He had to do to earn and retain salvation for us, we have to endure the same sufferings with Christ, as when He retained salvation He was made perfect, ( the third day perfected. Luke 13:32.) to become our author of eternal salvation to all who obey Him. ( the wicked disagree, salvation is far from those who do not do His statutes.)
Isaiah 59:17 For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of
salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak.
Zechariah 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having
salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
2 Corinthians 7:10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to
salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
Ephesians 6:17 And take the helmet of
salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
Ephesians 6:14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the
breastplate of righteousness;
Philippians 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own
salvation with fear and trembling.
1 Thessalonians 5:8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of
salvation.
2 Thessalonians 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to
salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
Hebrews 2:10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their
salvation perfect through sufferings.
Hebrews 5:9 And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal
salvation unto all them that obey him;
