When I was about twelve or thirteen, I attended a Bible class. I was not a Christian but tagged along with some friends every week for something to do. The subject of the last days were not usually mentioned but one week the Youth Leader tried to explain to us young sceptics what the Bible said about the subject. I have forgotten most of his explanation but one thing that stuck in my mind was that Turkey would have a major role in events. Back in those days the idea that Turkey would have a role in anything seemed ridiculous to our young minds. Now some fifty five years later lo and behold Turkey is seldom out of the news!. So unless world leaders solve the current crises that Bible Study of long ago will become a reality.
@tanakh
The names for the antichrist in the old testament always reflect the Turkey/Syria/Iraq region.
Also Revelations tells us Satans seat is Pergamos.
Also Daniel 7 tells us the anti christ honors a god (one singe god) of war, and goes out to glorify his god. Those nations around Israel do worship a god of war, the quran and hadiths are filled with commandments of fighting and killing the unbelievers.
There are other people out there with better knowledge than I on these things in the bible, but I do believe that Turkey will be a very big part of the end times prophecies. The bible was written in Israel, about Israel. Its completely based on that part of the world, all the nations that fall into judgement in the bible are middle eastern. I definitely keep my eyes over on that part of the world when it comes to prophecy.
