ok, back in the 80s, or 90s, fuel here, was up to 90 cents per litre.
Not everywhere, but where I lived.
Then, who was the president that had war with Iraq, well, the price went up, fast, to where it is now, up to $1.30 or more.

America has become energy independent, yet we are on day one of Biden's admin moving back to what was broke before we elected Trump. lol
 
It's amazing to me how things change. In earlier days, Republicans and Democrats could at least agree on the need for pipelines.

Yes. This is why I mentioned region as well. Sometimes the demarcations are clear, sometimes they are not. Depends on more than one factor. Not just the climate, but who settled the state, who runs the state, and so forth.

You'll see a difference on the California-Nevada border, but not, say, the Tennessee-Virginia border or the Mississippi-Alabama border.

It's complicated hahaha

Well they quarantined him in a thoroughly blue district so he isn't competitive with the bordering red ones. Thank God.

He's one of the weirdest dudes in Congress to be sure.

I'm pretty sure Aus is not like that.
Though I haven't been to Perth/western Australia, so I don't know for sure.
 
Part of it is the pattern of settlement in the US. The differences reverberate from the 1600's to our day.

I spent a lot of my early child in New York State. While I have not a lick of Dutch blood in me, the colonial Dutch left a cultural legacy I happen to share in.
