What do you consider "done up"?
I don't know what 'done up' means in this case. Is it too much makeup?
What is too much, what is just enough (what would you find "acceptable")?
There are times when more makeup may be necessary, a stylistic choice etc. But for more general use, I prefer when women wear little to no makeup. If they're wearing makeup, it should only accentuate what's already there - the natural beauty. Too much makeup is when you can't make out the person beneath their makeup or they look mummified.
When you see a girl with "too much" makeup on, what are your first thoughts?
That the girl is probably popular but feels deeply insecure about herself and who she is. Possibly looks to others for her identity.
If she is not wearing any at all, what are your first thoughts?
It depends on the woman. Makeup doesn't suit some women. I take note more of those who wear lots of makeup. They get my attention, but it's not one of attraction. Most women I interact with on a day-to-day basis wear no makeup (or very little). I don't know these things!
What occasions are "okay" to be done up for?
Going out somewhere, a special occasion. I don't know. They can wear it when they want. But less is more.

As for the "naturally pretty" comment: if a girl isn't that attractive, putting on a ton of makeup isn't going to help her out... It may make her look worse actually. Some girls just have more attractive features than others, same with guys.
From a guy's POV: Girls only like guys with muscles lol.

Do you wear makeup? Yes, but not always.

I wear a little bit to accentuate features I like (my eyes) and to downplay features I'm not crazy about (like freckles
).
I am an EXTREMELY fair-skinned redhead, so I wear foundation with sunscreen to protect it.
- Do you feel comfortable going out in public without makeup?
Sure! My profile pic on Facebook for a time was a pic sans makeup, in sweats, out running with my dogs.
What do you think is "too much" makeup? My gramma once told me that if it takes you longer than five minutes to do your makeup, you are wearing too much. For me, an SPF foundation, mascara, liner and lip color is enough. A little blush from time to time.
I went with my sister on a road trip once and she had an entire tacklebox looking thing full of makeup! I said, "Wow, Girl!! Just how ugly ARE you???" I'd never seen anything like it!
How do you feel when you get "done up"? If I feel I'm looking my best, it gives me a certain confidence I suppose.

There is a certain expectation, at least in my world, for "professional" women to appear more "polished". In all fairness, men are expected to appeared polished as well, but MOST of them draw the line at makeup.
A friend of mine said that the quote "Guys like girls to go all natural, no makeup" actually means "they like already naturally pretty girls". Thoughts on this?
I think it's hogwash that men prefer the natural look, as least with men I've dated. When they come to pick me up and my hair/makeup is well done, I can immediately see on their faces that they are pleased with the way I look. It's definitely not the same smile of approval I get if I show up in sweats/sneakers/no makeup.
Try not shaving your underarms/legs for awhile and you'll find out just how much they dislike a "natural" look!
Having said that, most men I know do NOT like a ton of makeup. I think for a lot of guys a "natural look" actually means "I don't want to get that crap all over me if I hug/kiss you" or that they feel a woman is going to get upset with them for "ruining her makeup". That's crazytown right there!

Well, it's a weird mentality. I couldn't imagine treating a grown man like a child who can't dress himself.
I would not be with someone just to try to change them (it probably doesn't work anyway). But I hear about women (an sometimes men) who do this a lot so I don't doubt that it's common.(And don't be disappointed... it is meatloaf. xD Cake wrecks is just the name of the blog, but they sometimes show other foods too.)

Really? It doesn't help at all? I usually only wear just mascara (maybe some light eyeliner and eyeshadow, depends on how I feel), so it's not like I really do myself up, but I feel that even just that little mascara makes me look a little prettier/more feminine. It "accentuates my eyes" or whatever. Just for me, personally. Maybe I'll do a "before" and "after" picture to show what I mean.
What about "corrective" makeup, like Nod is talking about? Or for covering up pimples/blemishes? (As long as it's not caked on)

Why or why not? I work in a law office, so minimal make up is considered professional attire. I volunteer as a greeter at church so it's appropriate there, too. Plus, I think I look a little butch without it

Intellectually, most people SAY that women don't need it. But they TREAT women better when they are tastefully made up. We are just trained to respond better to beauty.

Thoughts on this? my non-male opinion/observation, is that guys want to look at a face and see a woman, not make up. They want to to enhance a woman, not distract from her. And they don't want to have to wait 2hours for her to put on enough make up for them to go sit in a dark theater. So, pretty girl without a wait time. I think that's their preference, but I could be wrong.

I LOVE to dress up- even to go to the store or see friends. Obviously for church. My friend had a boutique and I would buy things on sale. I love upscale shabby chic. I once bought a pair of $120 'Betty Jean' jeans from her for $11.99. She has since closed the store (so sad) but I have a bunch of amazing clothes (that I sometimes wear to work) for very little. The makeup follows suit (pun intended) but put on lightly.
This is why I wear make-up.

Yes I wear make-up . I wear it because I feel prettier that way.
No I don't always wear it , but most of the time I do.
The last time I got "hit on" was at a dollar store near my house and I had no make up on...so yes... I go places without makeup sometimes.
I agree with the " if you don't recognize her without it " answer.... that is too much and should be toned down.
Your face with no make up is PRETTIER, period.

I always find girls with freckles cute and sexy.
They are like stars shining across the night sky - so you have all these stars on your face and how COOL is that?
I once saw a girl and her face was literally covered with freckles; thought it was like an entire galaxy displayed in her face.
If my future wife has freckles and she doesn't like them somehow, I will kiss her freckles lovingly every day and night and tell her how much I ADORE her freckles while looking into her eyes. She will know I meant it.
Aww wow that's really sweet. It's funny... my freckles are what I dislike the most about myself... In summer time they get really dark. It's nice to know that there are people out there that like them

The freckles are about the only thing that got covered up there.
Top picture, I'll give the make up a slight edge (and I do mean slight). But it's clear the eyebrows had been plucked to the point where without make up they are non existent. Put the eyebrows back and it's 50/50.
Bottom right picture, where'd all the cute freckles go? Her face looks like it's been airbrushed.

For me, it would be a happy medium between the Before and After Makeup pictures.
The first is a little over-done, in the second, there's far too much makeup.
Maybe those I believe wear little to no makeup do in fact wear a mild to moderate amount. I must be an idiot for believing otherwise.
Finally, a genuine smile makes a woman infinitely more attractive than one sans smile.

True, men can be the same, but by nature men tend to be the opposite and expect a woman to never change. Which is just as ridiculous as all people change.
Oh. That's a relief. Now i can continue spreading bacon covered goodness to the CC masses.
