Personally, I think Harry and Meghan are so cute together! I don't understand the excessive hate for them.

🕊

I've been rooting for Harry ever since he was born.

I can't imagine the whole world calling you "The Spare" for your entire life.

I related to this due to my adoption. My parents always saw me as THEIR child, but not all are that blessed, unfortunately.

In most circles I've been part of, adoption is always seen as second best and a "last resort." Adopted children are almost always viewed as being lesser than biological kids, in most every situation.

I was one of a literal handful of other Asians in a small white town. I knew of one other family with adopted Asian children and their grandfather would always make the distinction that they were "the adopted grandchildren from Korea." One of his Asian grandchildren would try to correct him and say, "No, Grandpa -- I'm just your grandchild."

I cried my eyes out the day Diana was killed and I pray regularly for Harry and Meghan.

I had my own situation in which a biological family member was seen as a big deal and I was kind of looked at as an afterthought, and it led to a lot of depression.

I pray for Harry because I can't imagine growing up my whole life in front of the world where everyone is like, "Oh, it's William, The King! And then there's the other one, the afterthought -- the spare son that had absolutely no purpose in being born."

It's a bit complex and it's so hard for ANYONE marrying into that family.
There were a lot of slurs on her character and race.

It could be just jealousy too, an American was marrying their British Prince and stealing him away from his dysfunctional family!

I think as long as they are together and believe in each other, people should just leave them alone to get on with it. It's not really anyones business what they do or don't do, except it is for some people who just want to know everything about them!

Although having said that, when they go on media and share about their lives its as if they want all the attention lol

Oh the spare, I feel that too, I'm the middle child and the second daughter. The firstborn always gets first dibs on every aspect of life. They have all the responsiblity, I'm just the child who doesn't know any better and is easily fooled.

I read Spare and although I thought it was a bit TMI, it is interesting the dynamic between William and Harry. Close, but a lot of rivalry there. William was a bit of a bully to Harry, and Harry was cheeky. It's clear they were very different in outlook and treated as such.

Diana's tragic death touched everyone...I was 17, we were devastated. But it was all because she wasn't wearing a seatbelt. If she had, she would have survived I think. The bodyguard was, and even though he lost his memory, he's still alive today.

Me too! I'm the middle child and the second daughter. But my situation was different.

I never felt I was the spare. I was my father's favorite and got the better birthday and Christmas presents. When we went shopping for clothes for the school year, I got new clothes just like my sister did, PLUS her hand-me-downs which means I had a lot more clothes than she did.

This wasn't good for her. She wasn't as outgoing and positive as me. We also got into two fist fights when we were young, and I won them both. When she was seeking God as a teenager, she didn't find Him, but I did.

Over the years, she sees how good God is to me and I think she's trying to seek Him out again! I asked God why she didn't find Him when she was seeking Him as a teenager and He laid it on my heart that she had pre-conceived notions about Him that were inaccurate.

We've grown to be great friends as we got older! So I've been praying for her over the years, and I think she may be coming around to accepting God as He really is.

The last time my sister visit us, she dropped a ceramic bowl that broke. I thought that was a sign for something, but I wasn't sure what. My Mom is a Christian too, but having grown up in the Phillipines, she saw this as an omen. But neither one of us said anything because neither one us knew what it meant. So next day we drop her off at the airport to fly back to NYC....

She called us from the airport saying that her flight was delayed. She'll call back again when she boards the airplane later. That's the way it is with everyone in my family - we always call in at every step of our flights. So the flight was underway later on to land in the evening at NYC.

She calls us in the evening as she promised. She's like "Are you sitting down? I have to tell you something." I heard the urgency in her voice so I sat down promptly.

She said that the co-op right below hers was on fire, so much so that the owner died! The firemen had to break into my sister's co-op and break down her closet walls to make sure the fire didn't spread to her unit!

God actually intervened and made her flight delay! If her flight was right on time, she would have been home in her co-op earlier in the day. I know her, she would have taken a nap as soon as she got home. She could have died of smoke inhalation! God protected her! God loves her so much! ❤️

I told her that as much. I think she'll get saved, because it was obvious how much effort God went to showing her that He was so involved protecting her by delaying her airplane and disrupting the schedule of everyone on that flight!

It makes me cry, because I always felt so bad that I found God when I was a teenager and she didn't. This intervention meant so much because God is so obviously reaching out to her. I'm just so excited fo her to get saved and have an awesome relationship with God!

Yeah, the problem is really about loneliness. If that is worked out of you with God's help, then looking for a spouse becomes God's decision.

As you recall, what was Isaac doing while the servant went to look for a suitable wife for him? Just going about his business meditating (on the Lord). Then the servant came back with Rebekah.....

-=<❤️>=-

Genesis 24:62 Now Isaac had come from Beer Lahai Roi, for he was living in the Negev. 63 He went out to the field one evening to meditate, and as he looked up, he saw camels approaching. 64 Rebekah also looked up and saw Isaac. She got down from her camel 65 and asked the servant, “Who is that man in the field coming to meet us?”

“He is my master,” the servant answered. So she took her veil and covered herself.

66 Then the servant told Isaac all he had done. 67 Isaac brought her into the tent of his mother Sarah, and he married Rebekah. So she became his wife, and he loved her; and Isaac was comforted after his mother’s death.

-=<❤️>=-
So God knows how to pick a good spouse! I would trust His choice over anybody else's.

Give your loneliness to God first though. That way, you'll be happy whether you're single or married. It really makes life enjoyable! And you're decision to marry or not will be more level-headed.

With the proper mindset, if you want to get married, let Him prepare you both and trust His leading like the servant did to the right one for you.

🕊
Oh... Yeah, no, I don't have any problem with that. I'm 47 and being single is very peaceful, not lonely. I have quite become accustomed to and in fact long ago started appreciating the peace.

A brother at church kept mocking me in or choir group. I walked up to him and asked him about it; and the first thing he said is "I can never marry a woman like you". why? I asked and he brought up insults, if you were my wife I would beat you, and all. He never told me what I did wrong, his wife also gossiped about me to a friend. I discovered this issue must have root and I saw the roots. he was assigned to buy a printer for the Church and he bought a bad one and we kept fixing and changing the same part. I rebuked this man and the church brother took it personally because he bought it and started rumors unfounded rumors on me, to the point of being aggressive

Edith I sincerely hope you reported this man to the pastor and elders. If he is given any authority whatsoever he will abuse it. His lack of fruit is appalling and he will take his issues out on the weakest among you if given half the chance. I'm serious.... I know you are turning the other cheek but you are tough and can handle it. What about those who can't? ☹

Back to topic...the important thing about the woman at the well wasn't that she had five husbands and was living with her sixth man who wasn't her husband. It was part of her sad story, it's true.
It's that she saw that Jesus was the Messiah. I.e the Christ. He saw all that she ever did. And didn't judge her harshly for it.

Jesus was prepared to love her as he loved everyone by treating them with compassion and kindness and forgiveness.

I love this story because it shows there is hope for everyone no matter how dire their circumstances are. You are seen by God. He knows your every weakness. He wants to keep you from destruction. He will guide you to the right path. If that path involves marriage or even if it doesn't, He will see it through.

This event is fascinating to me for two reasons , as far as I can tell , this is the longest conversation between Jesus and an individual , recorded in all the gospels and , it's with a Samaritan woman ( taboo to Jews , because she's a Samaritan and a woman ) , she is certainly a lady who has been around the block a few times and , astonishingly , Jesus tells her plainly that he is the Messiah ! She , as far as the gospel accounts go , is the first and only person that Jesus volunteers this information to without provocation . She is minding her business at the well and he reveals himself to her as the Messiah whereas previously , Jesus has urged people ( people who were healed by him or who said to him that he is the Messiah ) to tell no one . Here he is telling her ! A Samaritan woman of dubious reputation ! For these reasons this is an astonishing encounter and worthy of serious study .

I can tell u the main reasons a lot of the British public do not like Harry and Megan . Firstly , we truly loved our Queen Elizabeth , I mean genuinely . Our love for her only grew as we saw her aging and obviously ailing . Harry and Meghan broke her heart . They went to the press and aired the family troubles in the public arena of the gutter press . This would have caused Harries grandmother and our Queen great distress . He had no respect for her as his grandmother and as the Queen . This is why we don't like them , put succinctly . Truly unforgivable in the eyes of many British people . Whatever squabbles were going on in that family , should have stayed in the family .

Oh okay. I really liked Queen Elizabeth too.

How I can love all three of them is that I just don't listen to any dirt about the royal family.

I quit listening when Princess Diana died and Prince Charles married his rottweilwer. He got me too angry at him and broken hearted over Princess Diane.

Harry was close to his mother. He might have been paying the royal family back for the way they treated her.

I tried to give Megan the benefit of the doubt, but then I watched her interview with Oprah. She said many things that could not be verified (as they were he said/she said in nature), but everything I was able to verify independently turned out to be a gross misrepresentation of the truth. I found it impossible to take any of her grievances seriously after that

I know all families have their issues but like you said, it shouldn't be aired for all to see. Especially considering that she knew protocol would prevent the other royals from defending themselves.

That said, I do wish her and Harry (and the rest of the family) all the best. The public eye must be a very difficult situation to find yourself in 😕.

My wife was adopted and she definitely sees it as a blessing. I actually think nobody understands Romans 8:15 like people who were adopted.

Harry knew what effect his behaviour would have on the Queen , he knew he was deeply hurting her feelings and he just didn't care . That is just vicious . The royals in the U.K. lead very privileged lives and Harry did not respect that privilege , his biological family or the British public . Hurting the feelings of an elderly lady who was in her final months , deliberately , his own grandmother , for no good reason is , disgusting . The British public mostly have absolutely no time for him at all any more . No time and no sympathy .

I'm not going to get sucked into the vortex of the royal family's conflicts. I'm happy in my ignorance and being able to love both the Queen and Harry/Meghan.. ❤️😊

I do appreciate you taking the time to explain the general thinking of the people there.

I'm just an outside ignorant American (USA,) but I know I feel led to pray for Harry and Meghan -- probably because everyone is hating on them. I generally feel led to pray for those who are out of favor (stemming back to being adopted.)

I have always been fascinated by the UK (the accents!! The BEAUTIFUL accents!!) and had always hoped to visit every country there.

I don't know if I'll ever make it, but it's very interesting to learn about the culture and societal points of view.

Thank you for taking the time to share them.

Sorry if I get a bit heated 😬 most of us really did love our Queen and anyone who hurts her deliberately ,is going to get their ears boxed ! 👸

I don’t mean to start things. But the queen literally does nothing. I mean the royal family in general basically does nothing. Other then take money from the general population to support there lifestyle, maybe they donate a few bits here and there. But anyone with that fortune could easily do that. Personally I’m British heritage, my mom loves the royal family. But all in all I think they’re an overrated joke and see no point in them being around. The level of arrogance and ignorance they have is on ungodly levels. I mean the entire royal family is exactly the opposite of godly. I recall multiple verses shaming idolatry. Seems like a lot of it going on.

So , I had to think about whether or not to reply to this . I don't normally enjoy engaging in personal insults and Im not one hundred per cent sure if u r calling me an idolator . Also , I was brought up with good manners drummed into me and it's hard for me to break that habit . Having read your message a few times now , I've decided that u probably r calling me an idolator . I'm not going to enter into a big argument with u or attempt to justify or explain my posts on this subject . All I shall say is this . That photo of u in your gym outfit that u have on your media , does that not strike u as idolatrous at all ?

No that would be vanity. My gym photo does not take away from the idolatry. It’s plain a simple. Its not an insult even. You’re defending and idolizing people you actually have no idea about was my point. I could care less if you liked it or not. It’s the truth. No one knows anything truly about people in the media. The fact you’re even still upset over people that don’t even know you or care about you is insane to me. The royal family is not your friend nor are they people you should defend. Arguing over Harry and Meghan or the queen is like arguing over politics. Something we have no idea about. Your queen was pretentious and arrogant. Don’t think she would think any higher of you than a peasant. To the royal family were all peasants. Don’t make a fool of yourself by protecting people who wouldn’t blink an eye if you were here today or gone tomorrow. Greed is what runs the royal family. And sheep like you defend them just enough to keep up the lies so they continue their lifestyles full of greed.
