I was brought up in a country where the British royal family were revered because they once 'owned' the colony of New Zealand.
If you became a citizen of NZ, you had to pledge allegience or loyalty of whatever to the Queen. All the women's magazines had a daily/weekly/monthly rundown of what the royals were up to, and usually it was Princess Diana on the cover, until it changed to the new younger royals. Every single outfit was scrutinised, 'sources' always leaked stories...there would always be intrigues. Very cloak and dagger when someone pulled rank.

Actually it's all very bizarre, but it's like a real life soap opera, the Kardashians are nothing on the Royal reality show. The Royals would visit and everyone would go crazy. If a Royal waved at you or accepted flowers, it was like meeting a pop star. The Queen was like God (not literally a Goddess) but someone who was infallible. Like the Pope.

I never met the Queen or anyone in the royal family, but I sure know about them because they were/are ALWAYS in the media. Although one time Prince Charles drove past and waved out of his Rolls Royce or whatever when he visited my home town. I caught a glimpse of his ears.

If ever there was a Theocracy or an actual Kingdom (what, no Queendom?) the Brits had the pomp, the ceremony and all the crown jewels at their disposal. I can't get over how when Princess Catherine changed her wig, people were instantly on at her for changing her hairstyle. The royals do not dress themselves, they have servants who do all the dirty work for them, and the taxpayers pay for this. They may open a few hospitals and visit and tour the country smiling. But I don't know how much good it does. It's like the town Mayor, a figurehead for the masses to look up to.

I'm very aware that Jesus did NOT want to be a King on earth.

If we take example of royals 'chasing' if I recall...
Prince William first saw Kate Middleton on a fashion runway in a see-through dress/skirt. Much like Princess Diana wore a see through skirt in her first photo-shoot and Prince Charles remarked on how nice her legs were.

Kate Middleton was known as 'Waity Katy' because she waited for Prince William to propose, took him about ten years.
Lady Di was one of many blonde ladies Prince Charles could choose from, but it was said because she was young, aristocratic, and a virgin, and possibly naive, she was the shoo-in. She also wanted the job.

When asked at the engagement if the couple were in love, Diana said yes of course and Charles answered 'whatever love means' ?!

Meghan and Harry, according to reports, were introduced by friends, and they immediately clicked. Harry was desperate to marry, and Meghan wanted the job/fame/status. He took her to Africa where he took all his girlfriends, she cleared her schedule for him, and that was that. He didn't tell her exactly what being a royal entailed, and she really didn't have a clue.

Who was chasing...well it would have been the females chasing the royal males I would think. Royal men have women chasing them for the status. The men don't have to go anywhere, its the females who upend their lives to be with them.

Royal marriages are not like ordinary, non-royal marriages. They can have as many mistresses as they please.

That ignore button is looking more attractive by the minute 😆😆😆

I was subscribed to an Australian news channel, but had to unsubscrbe because they had too much news on the royal family I didn't want to know or care about. Their hate for Harry and Mehgan is immense!

Honestly , they don't hate him., they r very angry and hurt by his actions . Think about your own family , your parents , grandparents , brothers sisters aunties uncles etc , all the little secrets u know about them . Now imagine u wrote a book and told the world all their secrets and a few lies also ? How would they feel towards u ? Or , what if one of them wrote a book detailing all your mistakes and mishaps and branded u with disgusting lies and false allegations . How would u feel ?
In the UK that's considered a betrayal of the most vicious kind . I don't actually like or dislike any of them , loved Queen Elizabeth , she did a good job with a crappy family but , the rest of them don't mean anything to me . It's all just silacious gossip and very undignified . When I think of all the things I know about my family members and what they know about me ! I couldn't do that to any of them , especially my grandparents and thankfully , none of them r too low to do that sort of thing to me .

Treason~!

In the UK if you said anything against the Monarchy it would have been high treason....well in the past it would have been.
When Princess Diana had those interviews and said her husband wouldn't make a good King she paid dearly for them. She knew she would never be Queen.

One of the reasons why Jesus was crucified is because the people wanted him to be King and the Romans were not pleased with this, or King Herod either. If King Herod had his way, Jesus would have been killed along with all the others under two years old in Bethlehem. It was known as the slaughter of the innocents in theological circles.

Completely off-topic, but, well, this is a Christian forum...

Don't forget John the Baptist was beheaded for his opinions about the adulterous King Herod and Salome's mother. It seems King Herod just killed anyone he didn't like.

I am sorry for totally derailing this thread.

It was not meant to be about the Royals. Even though they are the most famous family I know, and they had their engagements and weddings all in the public eye.

I can't answer the question objectively but in my limited experience, I think it should be mutual.

Like with Lisa Simpson, Ralph was like 'I choo-choo-choose you' if only Lisa had also 'choo-choo-choose'd him back.

- what seems to be the problem? because its alarming at this rate half of the church will be single by 2050,

If you want to get married, you need to be able to support her to stay at home and raise the kids. You do not want to condemn your kids to the hell of being thrown into prisons public schools and raised and jostled around by other clueless kids and overworked secular teachers and over a decade of their life wasted learning nothing of value. Working women are less inclined to heed the authority of their husband. But health insurance for the wife and at least one kid is extremely expensive, and you'll need a house too. In safe neighborhood.

That combination is extremely expensive. Wages have not gone up with rising cost of living, and it is extremely difficult to get hired even with a degree. These days, men don't build up a career and enough wealth to maybe do this until their 30s (at which point, it becomes difficult to find and attract unmarried godly women who have no baggage). There is little point "looking" before then. You shouldn't waste years of woman's limited time for fertility when she could marry someone else who might be ready and able to support her now and have many children.

In the groups I frequent, there are a lot of Christian men who would love to be married, but they simply are not in the financial position to do so. A lot of good young men in their 20s I know have given up and think that achieving home ownership is impossible for them. Even people who are in their late 30s or even 40s but still stuck in minimum wage jobs unable to find better work. There are a few who are chancing it and courting or engaged to a woman who they met online (usually through a videogame group or forum), but the woman would have to work, and it is dubious if it'd last once the honeymoon period ends.

It is also extremely difficult/risky to approach a woman at Church (just like at work) when you are surrounded by so many other people watching and judging you. Especially when the leaders (who are married) harping about how you shouldn't be worried about looking for a spouse. "He/she will just come, trust God!". So even if there is a woman you spot, you get into the difficulty of how to even attempt asking her out.

- will you enjoy being chase by a woman if you are a man?

If by "chase", you mean being approached and told that she likes you and would be interested in maybe discussing more while eating burgers at a fast food restaurant, I would be a pleasantly surprised.

When I was a teenager, there were two young ladies who clearly liked me. One kept knocking on my door and talking to me on the porch of my house. It was flattering. But as I had no income or house and there was no way her interest would last for however many years it would take me to reach that point, there was no point in reciprocating, so I told her to stop visiting.

I think both partners should be chasing each other. When you continue to chase and fight, and the other person doesn’t chase or show genuine interest, it’s time to move on.

ha welcome to my world
I'm poor, brought up in public schools, had a minimum wage job, had my fertility wasted, been used by men who are cheap, been propostioned at church but when I ask a guy out, its like the worst thing in the world, what I'm meant to wait around for someone to ask me out. They not asking me out anywhere, cos usually they want what they want, which is not a wife they can't afford to keep but someone to have sex with while eating Wendys.

How can a teenager afford to be married anyhow? What fantasy world do YOU live in?

Creepy men at church in their 50s want some virgin who'd just turned 18. Thats what happens. By the time the wife becomes a mother has children and they are coming up to double digits the dad will have health problems and she'll have to look after him in his dotage. She'll never get a break.
Who in their right mind would want to get married. It does nothing for women but heartache and sorrow.

And if the guy is rich, then he thinks then he can afford a mistress, and you'll be the last to know.

Some thing I have heard of lately on CC and witnessed around me and in my faith community are men saying. they are not searching. I have a young colleague at 28 saying he is not searching and his complain is it is tiring to search.
It breaks my heart sincerely, He is young and worldly women have become predators to men of God.
in 10 or 20 men who may ask me out on a date, none is a believer.
My questions are

- what seems to be the problem? because its alarming at this rate half of the church will be single by 2050,

- should women start chasing men, is that allowed?

- will you enjoy being chase by a woman if you are a man?

I am beginning to think singles need to be put in marriage through speed dating, blind dates arrange marriages and many more.

I sincerely believe the problem and vices of the Society today are a result of the high rate of loneliness, lack of love leading to addictions and the likes. An experiment has shown that the more we are with people the less we think and keep destructive habits.
So no matter how single hood is comfortable I keep promoting and encouraging Christlike relationships for others and myself because it sincerely reduces the deviation of the Society.

My opinion please so come at me with brotherly love ahbeg
My opinion. Women seem more haughty, proud, always picky more now than ever. Want the guy best career, best looks a perfect dude well guess what. Never happen. Think just because of gendered we should all chase. Men are judged by women more than we judge them and it's true. Men seem.less picky cause we just want a companion. I'm judged a lot caught of tattoos and they don't even know me man. I've never been to prison I just like body art. The only one who took the time to judge me biblically to test my spirit to test my fruits of the spirit knows beyond my looks man. And for this she is the only one for me now. So women quit hating and being so picky. Test a mans character and then make a judgement. There are good men. Got money help him get a face lift or something. Stop the hate.

You obviously haven't found the right dude. And men who are 50 who want a 18-year-old are sick in the head. I have a rule I live by and always have if I can hit puberty or if she can hit puberty before I was born or before she was born my answer is no.

I'm fine with companions, just don't ask me to marry a companion. I can't afford to give a guy a facelift lol
