2Cor 6v14:
" Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
Not to do. God doesn't beat around the bush, and so neither should we.

The Bible says No to marrying non-Christians. It's also wise not to marry a Christian who is very young in the faith if you are much further along in your walk with Jesus. So being equally yolked, I think, refers to both.
1 Corinthians 7:39 A woman is bound to her husband as long as he lives. But if her husband dies, she is free to marry anyone she wishes, but he must belong to the Lord.
^^^ I think this verse is the clearest I found that answers your question.
Christians should always marry Christians.

I couldn't agree more with all the comments. I firmly opposed it when someone brought an argument about "we are all serving the same god''. It's good to hear from Christians who do not compromise the standards set in the Bible.

I think of it like this... when we marry and make love we become "one flesh" with our spouse. As a result you want to be on the same page on very important issues like religion with them.
Do NOT marry a nonbeliever, but if you find yourself married to someone who isn't a Christian or decides to convert in the duration of the marriage, it is not a lawful reason to divorce.
Relationships can easily become an idol (aka something we invest our hearts in more than God) which is one reason it is important to obey this commandment. So we have to guard our hearts to prevent this.
Remember, no earthly relationship is more important than one with our heavenly Father.
Keep this in mind, and you will have a happy, healthy, long lasting relationship/marriage.
