We saw in the 6th chapter of the Revelation under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the witness they had borne and these cried out to God for justice, for their blood to be avenged. They were given white robes to wear and told to rest a little longer until the number of their fellow servants and brethren be complete, who were to be killed as they themselves had been.

Then in the 7th chapter of the Revelation John looked and behold a great multitude which no man could number standing before the throne and before the Lamb clothed in white robes with palm branches in their hands crying out their hymn of worship.

One of the elders turned to John and asked "who are these clothed in white and whence have they come?" John answered "sir, you know" and he said "these are they who have come out of great tribulation, they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb"

This is my opinion, how I read it.

These are practically all the end time church martyred in the great tribulation.

I was reading Paul how he said "the dead shall be first to rise and then we who are alive and who remain will be caught up together with them to meet the Lord in the clouds, so shall we ever be with Him"

Those words "and who remain" leapt up out of the page at me.

In response please note:

1. There is no end-time Church. You will not find the words "church" or "churches" from Revelation 4 through Revelation 18 (all end-time prophecies).

2. What we find in Revelation 7:13,14 is this: And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. The Greek word ἐρχόμενοι (erchomenoi) can either be translated as "to come" or "to go", or even "went". So that great multitude seen above actually ESCAPED the Great Tribulation, by coming "out of it".

3. This would correspond to Rev 3:10 which says: Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. The "hour of temptation" (or testing) is not a single hour, but a period of time which corresponds to the Tribulation and the Great Tribulation. This is for the unbelieving world, not the Church, since "God has not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation".

4. The Tribulation Saints were all beheaded (Rev 20:4), but no Scripture ever says that the entire Church of Christ is beheaded: And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

So in fact there are two groups -- the Church and the Tribulation Saints.

thanks for your response

... I do not agree, I've stated my opinion. "have come out of" means [to me] they were in it.

"End times" end of this present age, the millennial age is a new age.
