Hi I've been struggling to understand this can someone shed some light in to this? How come the SON not know the hour? Isn't Jesus God when he was man?
 
Hello @David10, yes, the Lord Jesus Christ was/is Divine, and also human (since His Incarnation). When He lived among us as a man however, He apparently surrendered (emptied Himself .. Philippians 2:5-8) of many of His Divine attributes, which obviously included omniscience. He was able, then, to truly lead His life as one of us, and thereby accomplish for us (as a man) what we were incapable of accomplishing for ourselves, innocence/the atonement for our sins and perfect righteousness (IOW, along with dying on the Cross in our stead to atone for our sins, He also led a perfectly righteous life before His Father, the life the we were supposed to/needed to live before Him as men and women, but could not, for the sake of our being made righteous).

21 He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.​

When He spoke that verse He did not presently know. He now knows. We will know, too (because we are not in darkness if the Lord is within you) but we do not presently know.
 
Plain truth i believe the father hasn't told him. Jesus said i do all things the father tells me to do so i do nothing on my own.

Yes, but He emptied Himself of all that made Him God (Philippians 2:7). God's wisdom was to not reveal the timing. Lord Jesus said only what the Father told Him to say. (John 8:28)

Not knowing the time keeps Christians on their toes. Every generation wonders if theirs is the last. I wonder how early Christians would have reacted if they knew that Jesus would not be returning for 2,000 years.

He became just as we in order to be justified in judging all. This does not say He did not have faith and believe the Father from th onset of His being here. He believed the Father completely, and was not yet in His glorified state. He thought nothing of beign away from His bull status in order to be like you and lime me. Quite a sacrifice in itself.
 
Something to consider:

Footnotes of at least the NLT state that . . . "Some manuscripts do not include or the Son himself. "

That could very well clear up the entire problem.
