We all look forward to companionship, it's just that, I think many of us have had the experience of being set up by people who mean well, but all they see is a single person and are eager to try to set us up with another single person, regardless of personalities, interests, manners, or basic human decency.

For instance, the last time I was set up sometime last summer, some good friends of mine, very well-meaning, set me up with a Christian guy (I was very excited about this potential date--he'd been on ministry teams, served in worship, worked in YWAM--Youth With A Mission--in his teens, etc.)

But, they didn't really know him well enough to realize the disaster that was about to ensue--i.e., the fact that this guy told me (on a first, and blind date, no less) about several personal issues from his former marriage, such as, how his ex-wife would bribe him to do this or that by promising certain private times alone together... and when he looked right at me and said, "I would LOVE it if you tried to bribe me," I was ready to get up and walk out of the restaurant.

These are the kinds of match-ups we're all lamenting over.

I doubt there is any one of us out there who wouldn't LOVE to be set up with a COMPATIBLE, DECENT person (who isn't sex-crazed, for instance.)

Believe me, you wouldn't want to be set up on a date like this. At least, I hope not!

I totally understand that. But that guy had some secret stuff going on. I bet no one knew he was like that accept his ex. Many people hide stuff like that well.

I guess I am just wondering why no one has ever tried to set me up. Do they know I would reject someone or do they think the single guys they know wouldn't like me? HHMMMM?

well for now I'll just have fun and focus on my band n studies, I've only been single for a month now,lol plus when ur busy there really isn't much time, but u never kno who might strike ur fancy :P

Too bad. :( I was gonna get you together with a girl, she is not very pretty but actually it happens that she sings in a band too. Oh well maybe I'll give it a shot then with Hayley.
 
not very preety? wow...... lol listen there are some beautiful girls (physically) my ex for example, but in the inside have lots of problems and are kinda sour....... so external beauty isnt the most important thing if she has an awesome heart! XD but I'mm not gonna lie I pray so that God helps me remove my shallowness so that I dont pass up the girls with wonderful hearts. to me the most important thing is that a woman is devoted to God!
