SOOOOO..... Is it close to getting this thing back on track, Shae, for me to say that women (in general, not specific ones) complain about how men treat them then Happily Settle for Less. Men are, by nature, L A Z Y. We put in the least amount of effort to get by and will attempt to put in Less than what we think is expected to see if we can get by with that. Once we discover how low the bar is set, we try to go a little lower, just to see if that will also do. Women (again, generalizing) then respond by lowering the bar. "Oh, he doesn't really need to open doors for me." "Oh, I think it's good of him to have this time to his manboy self and play silly games while I do the sum of all chores." "Oh, chivalry is so sexist and old-fashioned, I'm a modern woman and shouldn't be held in high regard like that." "Oh, he only cheated the one time, and it was just my friend that told me about it, not our Pastor. It's not like everyone knows." "Oh, he didn't really mean to hit me, he's been under a lot of stress at work." "Oh, it's just such a tough economy right now, I can get a job and he will find work later. Stooping to a job that makes less than what he did would be bad for his resume." "blah blah, blah blah, blah blah."
All of this is INEVITABLY followed by snide snipes to her friends, to her mother, to her Bible study leader, to her Pastor, ad nauseam...And it all starts with her own negative internal dialogue. Cutting him down inside her head, cursing him where "none one can hear" - except her And God, and apparently the Devil who takes this as a foothold!
Is it the man's fault for being a lazy pig? His hands are not clean.
Is it the woman's fault for setting for less? Her hands are not clean.
Is it Dreadfully wrong for the woman to thrash him with her words and thoughts after accepting with her actions and her words to him the level of behavior from him? These hands are more bloody than that of Lady Macbeth, whom as we all know could not wash them clean.
I'm Ever Thankful for our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ, who gives us hands that are clean again and allows us to start over, to try better, and to step back and communicate with a willing party on calling a do-over. Have I been guilty of all those things in my wretched examples? No not hardly. Some? Perhaps more than I'll admit, but honestly not the worst of them. Did I change? Yes, Before my marriage fell apart - as was noted by the counselor that told me a year or more prior that I was wasting my time and that of the counselor by coming to couples counseling with a party unwilling to participate.
How far can a few nice words go? Well I think that all depends on how big the pond is, because those are the kind of ripples that can even wash back from the shore to the center of the pond again. Love begats Love.

With regard to non-christian women, many have been brainwashed by feminists. I know first hand that it is a very difficult indoctrination to avoid, especially for women pursuing degrees. However, godly women know better. Have you tried dating one?
Generalizations can be highly insulting and brevity only compounds the issue. Could be the reason this was not well received. God bless you anyway.

I agree wholeheartedly.
When will women wake up and realise what they've become and do something about it. This doesn't seem to be a problem with asian women and others devoid of the influence of western culture but give it a couple more generations and it may be different.
Okay, look. If y'all are so concerned with having "proper" women, then go find one. Stop complaining about the rest of us. We're not complaining about you. Actually, the women in this thread were saying it's WRONG to bash men, but you and Perseus seem to think it's okay to bash women. However, I will not be bullied by males who don't know me or my sisters in Christ. Stop generalizing.
You and Perseus go have coffee and rate the women at Starbucks. Have fun.

Once I hit 35 I had to start drinking lactose free milk,2%...dunoo why...suddenly noramal 2% milk started making me sick...same with soda...any dark colored soda...oh my...I would have a tummy ache within minutes. I didn't have a coke for almost 3 yrs. Now I have one every now & then as a treat,but I have to be careful. For some reason Ginger Ale doesn't bother my tummy.

This is one thing I refuse to do or allow my children to do. Their father has this tendency
to make jokes about himself. While it is his choice, I refuse to allow my son even jokingly
to make the same jokes about his father.
I can not stand to hear a woman bashing her boy friend. I will never understand why you
would want to make people think bad about your significant other. This is when I will say
to women that they made their choice. This is the time when they need to end their
relationship if that is how they feel about the person. I completely agree with the concept
that when times are tough between the two of you, you shouldn't be running your mouth
to family or friends but should instead be on your knees in prayer and working things
out together.
