John Lindell, lead pastor of James River Church in Springfield, MO, hosted the event.

Mark Driscoll seized the opportunity to insert himself into the conversation by calling out the sin. This is on brand for someone who likes the stage light. Driscoll has a history with the Mars Hill church; its rise and downfall.

Driscoll quote: “There is a pile of dead bodies behind the Mars Hill bus, and by God’s grace, it’ll be a mountain by the time we’re done,” he once said in a meeting. “You either get on the bus or you get run over by the bus.”

Certainly, including the male stripper entertainment at a church conference was unconscionable. After Driscoll's display of concern, Lindell's primary regret was the fact that he, himself, had booked such a vile act at a men's Christian concert. Just Kidding. He criticized Driscoll for not coming to him privately, first, according to Matthew 18 guidelines.

Going to look outside of Missouri for your church? Then you should not stop at the brand new Temple Church in Chicago. Its grand opening featured dancing women twerking to a Beyonce song.

BTW: I don't endorse the above media channels.

Fellow Believers, these are signs of the times.

Grace and Peace.

Why is this in the conspiracy thread? The apostasy is not a conspiracy theory, it is a fact and this is news.

But I have started building an ark.

I would say, it would be a better fit in the news forum.

Who is your plus one?
This is really going to get awkward when it starts raining.

Feel free to send a CV listing your ark skills, and any experience you have with apocalyptic navigation.

2 Timothy 3:1-5
But understand this: In the last days terrible times will come. For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, without love of good, traitorous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. Turn away from such as these!

Reads like today's news.

The news headlines have read like this for 2,000 years now.

Televangelist are reflecting society....instead of reflecting God.

Billy Graham was the first Televangelist....others seeing the power he gained with his specials glommed on to the phenomenon. Thinking about the money and power they could and did gain by emulating Billy.

And for a while they did....but mostly their lives ultimately were ruined. Their salaries ballooned to enormous amounts. Their secret torrid sex lives were exposed. There was a new scandal every month....
Many got hauled before Congress to answer for their fleecing of average Americans. These "pastors" hold collectively more dollars in expensive antiques than the Catholic Church....and they hold DaVinci's works.

Congress feels its their exclusive purview to fleece average Americans....just saying.

I've been saved for 50 years. There has been a massive increase in the influence of homosexuals and the LGBTQI movement. I've never heard of a male stripper opening a supposed Christian conference. I don't know why all those attending did not walk out.

There has always been secret sin in the church. Now it is not even called sin. Sex and money are the traps way too many fall into. But it is supposed Christians who give to the prosperity gospel peddlers. It is supposed Christian women who get into bed with the peddlers. Paul told Timothy to turn away from such people. Instead, Christians flock to their meetings and give to those who have no need.

It's difficult to find places to give with a clear conscience...so many organizations are not exactly even remotely efficient or effective with the donations.

Enzyme water purifiers are great....$20 worth of PVC and a couple of buckets of "dirt" and it's good to go for thousands of gallons. But charities raise a million dollars for each Enzyme purifier....where's the money really going?

Just saying....things are getting difficult to find a place to give at times.

Your contraption only makes purified water. There's is making holy water. Surely this accounts for the difference.

This deluge will come in the form of fire. You should rethink the materials you've chosen as security measures.
It's a fire retardant rug. It also double as a flying carpet.

The mega churches, in general, are trying to attract large worldly lost crowds with worldly carnal methods.

Even a mega church I used to attend played overly loud rock music. Most of it was ccm, but sometimes they'd throw in "When I Grow Up, I Want to be a Rock Star " or whatever the dumb song was called.

I realized that the pastor went way overboard when he had a sermon to tell us that we should not use "offensive Bible words like saved."

Why is this a surprise?
This pastor and HIS church (I doubt God claims it) has always been about entertaining the flesh as most if not all mega churches do today.
It makes them rich.

The Newsweek article said one pastor poorly vetted the guy swallowing a sword...he really didn't know what his act was. (Bad karma from the git go) Then the pastor kicking off the other was recently a pastor from Mars Hill church which was a total fiasco....and he has no room or standing to kick anyone off a stage considering his past....

It's to the point I don't want to hear what either of these two or any pastor from Missouri have to say about men's leadership.

Just saying....
