Short video. Vital warning. Especially the part about the potato farmers. Lord!
Short video. Vital warning. Especially the part about the potato farmers. Lord!
I did a search if what was said in the video is true and this is what came back:
No, it is not true that McDonald’s fries are toxic due to the pesticide "Monitor." While the claim that potatoes are sprayed with this chemical is false, McDonald’s fries are generally considered unhealthy due to high levels of fat, sodium, and potential carcinogens formed during cooking, rather than pesticide residue.
The specific claims about toxicity are debunked by multiple fact-checks:
While not "toxic" from pesticides, McDonald’s fries are not healthy due to other factors:
- Pesticide Ban: The pesticide Monitor (methamidophos) was banned in the US and EU years ago (US cancellation in 2009, EU prohibition since 2008). McDonald’s suppliers do not use this chemical.
- Misleading Context: Viral videos often cite food writer Michael Pollan, who described the use of Monitor in the past. However, by the time these statements became widely circulated (e.g., his 2013 talk), the pesticide was already obsolete.
- Storage Myths: The claim that potatoes are stored in stadium-sized sheds for six weeks to "off-gas" toxins is misleading; potatoes are stored in atmosphere-controlled facilities for preservation and year-round availability, not chemical detoxification.
- Acrylamide: High-temperature frying of starchy potatoes produces acrylamide, a potential carcinogen found in many fried foods, though levels are significantly lower than in cigarette smoke.
- Ingredients: Fries contain TBHQ (a preservative), dextrose (sugar for color), and natural beef flavor (containing wheat and milk derivatives), contributing to high saturated fat and sodium content.
- Health Risks: Regular consumption is linked to obesity, heart disease, and blood sugar spikes due to refined carbohydrates and processed fats, but this is distinct from acute toxicity.

So MacDonalds french fries are unhealthy like all fried foods and has unhealthy additives, but not toxic sprays.

We use sea salt. No aluminum like in regular table salt.He makes good points.
Regardless of what weed and bug killers are used, they are all harmful to some degree or another. The only way around it is to grow your own.
He mentioned wealthy people who eat out vs modest means preparing home cooked meals.
What do you think about that?
That was my takeaway more than the specific spray they used to use. It seems obvious, but an ex girlfriend's mother was a registered dietician. They ate out more than eat at home. She didn't like to cook for the three of them and her dad was a phy$ician.
What I do is scrub my potatoes with a little baking soda and vinegar. Rinse, boil and pour off the water. It waste the little bit of nutrients, but most potatoes are empty calories any way. Sweet potatoes are better.
The boiling extracts a lot of the natural oxalates that harm the body too.
An option for chips/fries is to boil and until partially cooked pour off the water. Peel and slice. Heat coconut oil and fry.
Redmond Salt is my favorite.
Do you have a favorite salt or potato?

He died!I was just sent this video when I posted last.
I'm thinking, McDonald's must have made this poor man constipated. That was kind of funny when I left this thread and said to self, "LOOK, ONE MORE REASON TO AVOID MCDONALD'S!
The manager actually called the police on him! First half minute or so.
The rest is very sad so you might not want to watch.
Hint, reminds me of the son of the Devil that I mentioned earlier.
That's great! We use sea salt. No aluminum like in regular table salt.
They are a gourmet treat for birthdays or special occasions.I like Russets and white potatoes. I'm not picky though. Sour cream and unsalted butter is all I really require.
There are thousands of different types of otatoes. Even blue potatoes.
Blue?
I hope you are able to garden again soon. That's great!
They add too much junk to table salt.
They are a gourmet treat for birthdays or special occasions.
I tried them when Kroger's had a sale. They have lots of flavor.
They are kind of like red, but better. I want to grow them once I'm able to garden again. Probably Blue Fingerlings. They are skinny and a little bigger than fingers.
If you find any, give Jerusalem Artichokes aka Sunchokes a try.
They are a different but really healthy root vegetables related to Sunflowers.
He died!
Official cause is still under investigation. But his family had an independent autopsy performed. Alleged cause of death was custodial blunt force trauma. I. E the police beat him to death.
If true, every officer should be held as responsible for that as you or I would be,having treated someone the same way.
RIP.![]()
Thank you so much!I hope you are able to garden again soon.![]()
I understand, God bless and consider it done.Thank you so much!
Please ask the Lord to show mercy, heal and strengthen me whenever you think of me.
In a nutshell, I went through an incredible number of traumatic experiences beyond my control, in a short amount of time. As a result, my body suffered with serious life threatening conditions. My life theme became challenged, but by God's grace trust that I will be able to serve Him more ASAP.
I hope they did. Life is very serious now. We can all use humor breaks.I agree%.
I witnessed way too much of that and devoted my life to protecting the innocent from scum bags like those thugs.
My reward are frequent nightmares that should belong to those cops like my brother who has no conscience. They've got reprobate minds. Romans 1
I shouldn't have laughed at the first part because it was tragic at the end. I shouldn't have posted it in hind sight, but got the McDonald's theme sent weirdly right after talking about it here. I just don't want to focus on the ending right now since that happened to the people that I loved most.
I already wept in prayer earlier for some on my list and can't afford to let myself get triggered by the cop who killed this man . I've seen too much of that and can't afford to get depressed this evening. My lil Fluffer is depending on me and depression wipes out my energy and sleep, etc.
Yesterday I wrote a Sleep Dr.
I followed his recommendations and still got around 4 hours+/- per night for probably a couple weeks. I let him know that it was starting to feel harmful.
Thank God, last night I ng hearing heart in the face of wicked people.got a solid 8 hours sleep! I'll bet those funny jokes and videos that you sent helped.
I liked the fries better when they were fried in beef tallow. Big mistake switching to vegetable oil. McDonald's fries are now basically tasteless. I do hope that they keep the fried apple pies though, but it is probably a limited time item. I believe that they used to be cooked in lard but now it's just vegetable oil. At least they're fried though.I did a search if what was said in the video is true and this is what came back:

His lie makes the Micky D frenchfry myth paled in comparison.Might want to reconsider eating their hamburgers too.
Watch this 2 min vid from Riccardo Bosi as to where the victims bodies from Adrenochrome production end up.

Blue?
Welcome back. You were missed. Finally back!
I find the blue ones in an asian store and Kroger's when in season. I forgot the names of the two common varieties.
If I have energy, I want to grow them and sweet potatoes next spring. They have so much flavor! Just make sure that you fry them in coconut oil or animal fat if you want French fries.
It can take higher heat and doesn't have the harmful effects of vegetable/seed oils.
