That would be Linus. Followed by Clement if I am not mistaken. Clement is actually mentioned in Scripture too as an early disciple.

Hello - I have a very unique story in that my journey of faith had very little to do with religion in the traditional area of exposure. Yet, I have been exposed to a number of religions directly through my parents, my immediate family, my school associates, my various communities and countries I have lived in, the general dominance of Judaism, Catholicism and Protestantism in our N.A. culture. I have lived with Jews, Catholics and Protestants and I mean lived with intimately. I have seven children, some practice Judaism, some Catholicism, some Protestantism, some a mix of one or another modern day conceptualization of self-regulation etc. I grew up in a household family-wise full of both ethnic diversity and religious differences. I have in much of the past not relished organised religion of any type. I have had an opportunity to meet teens in my age group while in Europe and at a world conference who represented over fifty countries - all of an inter-racial, interdenominational origin. We all met off the coast of new Rochelle NY state and on one occasion I sang with a small group on the streets of Harlem in 1967. I have fought three terminal diseases while 29 years of age and ten years later after searching in a most desperate manner, at times homeless, at times, suicidal, at times delusional for the truth. I wasn't about to die not really knowing what I could or not believe in. I wanted to be sure, dead sure pardon the pun. I met with spiritual beings in a normal manner although I never spoke of this to anyone at the time. To such an extent once on such a visit, I was asked "why don't you talk to us?" meaning, since inwardly I thought these visits were from angels unawares, I hadn't dared to think I was supposed to speak to them - rather just to listen to what they had to say. Yes, you Bible thumping lot of Sadducee's and Pharisees, you can hang human beings, on a Cross. Don't waste time or effort to reply to my post - Vengeance is Mine saith the Lord.
Now, after what seems to me to be too long a time, I am spiritually on a ship sailing the oceans of the world rescuing souls - and there is a whole lot of souls floundering, suffering, drowning. The point being not everyone wishes to be Saved or enlightened or even loved. More still prefer to endanger authentic children of G_d, the Lord. Few and far between are there sincere souls whose desperate desire to find G_d and live in the truths He has given for all who call upon His Holy Name.
I searched for healing and was miraculously transported to a place of great healing. I had received prior to these events for there were three of them some time apart from one another - a prophetic word. In a place I didn't wish to remain or join up with. Nonetheless, the prophecy I recognized was from a person who had the gift.
So the bottom line of this is clearly revealed. The holy Spirit of G_d, the Lord may use a poor stinky individual, a mentally ill person, your father or mother, a black man or a Hebrew woman, a Hindu, A Muslim, a blind man, a sinful alcoholic, a prostitute, a church goer, a Rabbi, a priest, a minister, etc etc etc.
Or He may speak through a mule as to Saint Paul.
He may audible speak as to many in the History of the Hebrew Nation. He may speak in the quiet of your heart. He may speak loudest of all in His silence.
However, your circumstances and intentions are, He alone is G_d in Triune Nature - He alone may judge, He alone may reveal Himself as he wills in His timing and Holy Will. He alone is all goodness in the FLESH*
Humility, compassion and patience some of the most basic virtues of mankind's redemptive humanity...is sorely wanting as PRIDE overwhelms us subtlety and brazenly.
One may take endless and staunch pride in knowledge, fight to the death for ideology, kill, maim and defile in the name of their views, spread hate and discriminate - revel in the plight and persecutions of their enemies, downgrade others opinions and values, place all sorts of people in their pathways in peril and still declare they have Salvation in their veins and have G_d with them.

Share yet bantering over religious concepts usually leads to the spirit of division entering into a discussion and leaving wounds and separation in the Body of Christ.
Whatever your studies reveal to you remember there were Popes who found themselves in Sheol after death and were prayed out through a righteous man's intercession in the deliverance of the Holy lamb of G_d.
Remember He descended to hell to preach to the dead. Yet also recall the apparent contradiction in that the dead walked the streets when Jesus died on the Cross. Fast track preaching in my view.

Remember there is an order in heaven or the three present heaven's mentioned by Saint Paul. One Heaven three Glory's, Hallelujah's and His ordering of His authority and structure of the army of G_d and it's Saints - the Matriarchs, Patriarchs of the first Resurrection of the dead, those who will be raised from the dead in the Coming of the Messiah Jesus who will come with the 144,000 first fruits of the Resurrection meaning those undefined who died for a testimony of Him...a bit deep ? Well that's just what I am getting at. Be led of the Holy Spirit who will reveal and instruct you in the Holy Communion of the Saints. G_d is love and whatever is not love is not of His Holy Spirit. Keep it simple people everyone in His will and Timing will be Saved according to His purpose and Holy Will. Unless they have willfully rejected his Holy Spirit.

It took me a long time to realize what He may have meant. Unless we are born again of the Spirit of the lord we have not any part in His Kingdom and we must run the race to the finish...faithful to Him. Once Saved is just the beginning...we must enter into eternal rest of the Lord when we die or depend upon the graces of Mary with all the Saints and angels to intercede for us before the Lord who may inspire in His holy Spirit those living still to pray for us and most vital for your search, never forsake the Sacraments of the Church especially the Holy Mass. As much as moths are driven to a flame, the burning lamp of all Grace is the remembrance of the true Christ as he instructed us to at the Last Supper raising the cup and breaking the bread saying this is my flesh and this is My blood whosoever eats my flesh and drinks My blood remains in Me and I in him.

There is certainly much to read about you and about your faith in your post. It is certain everyone who posts in this forum could easily post as much about each's path at great length, with equal fervor and zeal. I know, were all to know everyone's personal experience in this path called life, it would be impossible not to be moved greatly. My own experience is more incredible than any Hollywood writer could dream up, but this experience is what has brought me to love and adore Yahweh. The countries I have lived in, the people with whom I have lived, all testify to the need of the Love that is Life from our Maker. It would probably serve the forum and you much were you to open a thread with your ideas and experiences so all who are interested will know by the post's title what they are about to read instead of under the title of someone else's post.
As for dwelling with all or many of the mankind's examples of ethnicity, religions and nationalities, it is certain many of us have done exactly the same. On one quest I was blessed to have travelled through much of Europe, part of Asia, and Asia Minor, and my greatest discovery is that no matter what the country, religion or ethnicity the basic wants and needs in common of all were identical, however the prejudices differed. I will stop here before I get into the miracles and revelations for and to me, simply to continue the path given me by Elohanu. Yahweh bless all in Yeshua, and all who will come to Him, thank You, Father, amen.

Some people claim to be born-again Christians, but they still faithfully attend the Catholic Church. Why? They are eating at the Devil's table. 2nd Corinthians 6:16, "And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols?" I say this caringly.
The Catholic religion is demonic! One of the great sins of Christians today is that they are so silent concerning the monstrosity of Catholicism. In 2002, 24% of all Americans professed to be Catholic.
Catholics commit the horrible sin of IDOLATRY when they bow before a statue of Mary. Exodus 20:4-5a commands, "Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them..." Catholics commit the sin of idolatry every time they bow and pray to Mary. Why would a Christian want to continue in such wickedness?
Although many Catholics attempt to deny that they worship Mary, the Vatican's teaching concerning Our Lady of Fatima is irrefutable PROOF that Catholics DO in fact worship Mary, even teaching that eternal life is possible by coming to Mary by way of praying the Rosary. The 5th of the 15 promises made by Our Lady of Fatima concerning the Rosary is so blasphemous that it is unmistakable, clear, proof that Catholics do indeed worship Mary (which is sinful idolatry). Blasphemy!!! You cannot show me even one Scripture from the Word of God where we are told to trust in Mary, by reciting the Rosary to be saved. In fact, the word "Rosary" is NOT a Bible term. The Rosary is straight out of the pits of Hell. Jesus condemned vain repetition in Matthew 6:7. According to Our Lady of Fatima (whose teachings are officially sanctioned by the Vatican), a person can obtain eternal life through Mary by reciting the Rosary. In sharp contrast, Jesus Christ proclaimed in John 14:6... "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
How could Catholics be so arrogant, so blind, and so apostate as to believe that salvation is found in Mary? Jesus tells us the answer in Mark 7:9, "Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition." People remain in the Catholic religion because THEY CHOOSE TO, period, even in full knowledge that they are going against the Word of God. God will judge them! Just as the Pharisees of Jesus' time CHOSE to follow the hellish religion of Judaism instead of Biblical Christianity, so do Catholics CHOOSE to follow the Satanic Catholic faith instead of the Bible. I tell you, Catholicism is of the Devil.
If you're worshipping within the Catholic faith, then you might as well be over in India worshipping a potato!
Catholic priests are infamous for discouraging people from reading the Word of God. They don't want anyone thinking for themselves. But Jesus commanded us in John 5:39, "SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life." What precious Scriptures! Jesus told the crowd to SEARCH THE SCRIPTURES, and in so doing they would learn how to have eternal life; but by rejecting the Scriptures, they had refused God's plan of salvation. Is this not exactly what Catholics are guilty of? Yes, that is exactly so! Catholics adhere to a FALSE gospel of self-righteousness and sacramental rituals.

Catholics commit the horrible sin of IDOLATRY when they bow before a statue of Mary. As it's been pointed out in many different threads, including this very same one I believe, there are 14 imperative statements in the "ten commandments" passage of Scripture. And there are two traditional ways to group them for easy remembering. Catholics/Jews/Lutherans use one traditional numbering method, and the Eastern Orthodox/(most) Protestants use another. For example, "Remember the Sabbath to keep it holy," is ONE commandment, but it takes FOUR verses (Ex. 20:8–11). For ease of use in remembering the commandments, people have often grouped the verses together. But that's not trying to "hide" them, nor does it remove them from "their official catholic commandments."

I have always wondered why people can't see how blasphemous the messages of the Virgin apparitions are...they are so obviously wrong. In Mexico people love the Virgin of Guadalupe, despite her message being so full of ME,ME,ME and NOTHING of Jesus. She commands Juan Diego to make a temple for her (which still stands and is one of the biggest churches in Mexico, beloved temple of the Pope) and to ask HER for everything he needs, sickness, peace, sadness,etc. People need to align all these apparitions with what the Bible says :
But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned! Galatians 1:8

The south Americans are very passionate about religion, particularly Catholicism. It's a part of their culture. They take it way too far. I'm married to a Peruvian man so know all about it.
His parents' house is scary, many walls covered with paintings of dead saints and his mum lights a candle to a statue of Mary while she goes about her daily chores. She also has a wall with photos of the family surrounding a picture of the pope in the center.The thing that came to my mind regarding the apparitions was that scripture on the lying signs and wonders and also the deceiver who transforms himself into an angel of light. We were not told we would be visited by anyone and 'her' messages aren't biblical. We're only to expect Christ's second coming.
By the way, outside a Mexican church there is a statue of a crucified Jesus and and on the reverse side there’s a woman hanging on the cross, to depict the suffering mother church offering herself with him for sins. This is a depiction in art of the woman being offered with the man. Blasphemous.

My Doctrine & my God are like a tree trunk & each different denomination/outlook is a branch feeding off that trunk. Each branch needs the trunk to survive & somewhere along the journey it will meet & become intertwined with other branches. Make sense?!

The way I see it:
CATHOLIC: "Join US. WE are the Church. You MUST be one of us."
Non-catholic: "Accept Jesus. HE is the Head of the Church. You MUST be born again."
Catholics, all the way up to Rome, have a difficult time accepting non-catholics. "If they're not against us, their FOR us" doesn't seem to apply.
They cannot simply accept somebody being "born again". You MUST pray their rosary, obey the "sacraments" they quote, accept their idea that prayers TO, or THROUGH, "saints", people already in Heaven, are MUCH MORE greater than if we were to pray directly to God, Himself.
Overall, it's just a lot of hoops to jump through just to be right with God when Jesus made it so simple that even a child can do it. The leaders in Rome REALLY want people to join THEM that they bend their own rules to do so.
It's like in the military (I'm a veteran, I can't help it! lol).
An Infantryman cannot say to an army doctor, "because you're not on the front lines fighting, you're not in the army". Both wear the uniform. Both are in the army. But one has a mission of fighting on the front lines. The other's mission is to treat the wounded.
Catholics I know cannot accept that being in the arms of Christ, you ARE part of His Church. They believe that you MUST worship where they go and do the things they do. You MUST accept their leader (pope) as your "holy father" and Mary as your "holy mother".
Just accepting Jesus as your Savior seems to be not enough. Catholics call themselves "catholics". They generally do not claim to be just "Christians".

I was born and raised in Mexico, I'm very familiar with that passion, sadly. So many people there (not all btw) have their houses' walls covered with paintings of saints, I remember even seeing houses painted from the outside with images of the Virgin of Guadalupe.
What you described is blasphemous indeed, and similar things happen in a lot of churches there.... and I wonder why the Catholic Church is so silent about these practices. I haven't heard a Catholic give a reasonable answer which aligns these practices and the messages of the Virgin with Scriptures... and I'm still waiting.
I'll repeat, not all Catholics do this, but A LOT do, and the fact that the Catholic priests don't correct them is the same as giving approval.

(not catholic)well it depends how you define works, you can see in laces such as matthew 26:31-46 that a mean and selfish christian who refuses to help the poor is going into the fire. however some people say that helping the poor is love and love is the work of faith(some verse i cant remember), and therefore it is by faith, however, that description tends to five the wrong idea. I dont agree with infant baptism however as they have no idea whats going on and whats wrong with sola scripture? im not going to listen to whatever the pope says just because he says hes always right.

It is much easier to convince someone of the truth of God's word using love and compassion than throwing stones.

Sole fide is certainly open to argument since there were obvious political motivations during the early reformation in order to justify opposition to church control of monasteries, municipalities over the interests of guild/merchant entities, and individual absolution.
Sole scriptura is just nonsense which is why the Catholic church opposed both the translation of the bible into common tongues and the encouragement of literacy throughout its history. Even now, Catholics are discouraged from reading the entire bible. Several orders, not the least of which, the Jesuits, have excellent arguments for seeking both education and inspiration ex-scriptura.
Infant baptism is only an issue if there is no means of resolving the issue after death. Otherwise, how would the church account for those souls lost in childbirth or just before? I'm certain the problem is not unsolvable.
