Addressing title of OP: Haven't they been saying that for hundreds of years? (or words to that effect?)

Right now they have the capabilities to start accomplishing their goals. They have money backing them, and they are calculated. They started off that way, remember ? They planned for months if not years piloting air craft before 9/11, and then hit 3 out of 4 targets. So they are no longer just talking, they are gaining ground, all that money the US spent in Iraq was for nothing. These people don't want democracy, they want their law under Iran leadership now that we've killed saddam. I think we should bring our troops home and stop interfering, focusing on our borders and our own security, not " world security " unattainable.

Let's hope it stays that way. A lot can happen in a century or two. Decisions made in the present often matter exponentially down the line.

Jesus died so we can have life more abundantly, God never calls for our blood, because we have Ones blood that rescues us all, The Messiah. He tells us to turn the other cheek and to love our enemies. He never said to let evil just over run, David was in many battles and wars. He was king, the people obeyed. We are also called to obey, be active not scared, spreading Gods word to unbeliever whenever possible, even muslims.

I am not in fear of them, but resigned to the fact that when God determines judgment time has come, there will be nothing we can do but remain faithful. Preaching the Gospel to these barbaristic animals will be futile and an assurance of death. I do not believe God has called us to throw our lives away attempting to preach to stones.

We are also called to fight, not just give in because of love. The enemies need tough love, and to be calmed down.

There is no realistic way to do that, unless you have a strategy that no one has thought of you would like to share with us?

We need to get off the oil though and find other sources like electric cars, that's our main problem in these countries. We also need to isolate these extreme failed countries and hold others in power accountable for supporting these groups. Until these things happen war is necessary.

You realize that electric cars only increase fossil fuel consumption? It takes more power plant production to charge the millions of cars environmentalists would have us build than it does to run fossil-fuel burning vehicles that are on the road now.

Also, we have crimped the economies of the oil-producing countries by doing what they and our own environmentalists didn't think we could do: Outproduce them. New technologies and clean traditional drilling for a massive oil field from a single platform reduce damage to the environment while making us the world's #1 natural gas producer and soon will make us the world's #1 oil producer. We don't have to make war with them or become oil-slim or change our lifestyles.

We will, nonetheless, have to make war with them, because they may well be the very fulfillment of prophecy they think they are, just as Caiaphas believed Christ should die for the nation and the world. Neither of them have to know the reasoning and purpose behind their prophecy for it to be true. They can be as wrong as the day is long, and still be right.

Ecclesiastes 3:8 - A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
