I'm writing this letter after many years of marriage. I didn't know my husband well when we first married and I was young. By our 3rd date he was asking me to marry him, seemed so romantic, etc. I married him quickly, it all took place within a month of our first meeting. By the next month he had come home drunk (I didn't know he even drank), and that was the first time I got beat up. I was in shock! I was young and very pretty, I was use to men chasing me and was ready to divorce and move on. But, the next day he came to me so sweet and tearfully sorry. I forgave him and got pregnant within a short time. Things were wonderful, until once or twice a year when I made him mad. Overall we had a wonderful, happy, marriage. But now, he's no longer sorry when he hurts me, isn't that kind romantic husband and has broken my heart. He's ready to get rid of me now. I cannot tell you all I've been through. I'm older now, and have my stability in marriage taken away. I haven't worked outside the home in years, and I'm scared. Please anyone reading, pray for me. Those of you who are young, I warn you be careful who you not only marry, but date. If there are red flags in the beginning take them seriously. God is all I have and all I need, but how I wish in life I would have waited for His will and not done things my way.

Father, care for this sister. Protect her from physical harm; work in her husband's heart and change him.
Give her wisdom to know how to proceed and to find a competent pastor or sister in the Lord that can give her good guidance. We ask this in Jesus Name.

Father

Please bring comfort to our sister and help her in this situation. Keep her safe and help her to carry on resting in Your arms of love. Heal her wounded heart and make her whole bringing her Your peace that only You can give. Please touch her husbands heart and if he is not a Christian please help him to become one. It may be too late to change this marriage, but help her to get the support and help that she needs to carry on in Your strength I pray in Jesus Name Amen.

I just finished reading through all your previous posts and see that you have been in a dangerously abusive situation. I want to give you 2 sources of information to help you:

https://www.rainn.org/
The National Domestic Violence Hotline | 24/7 Confidential Support

Also, call 911 if your husband even hints at beating you again. Just the idea that he will not allow you to be online to fellowship is revealing what an angry manipulator he is. Please do not even consider living with this man. Get help ASAP.

Thank you so much everyone for reading and for your prayers. My husband was the best most solidChristian man I'd ever seen and use to be sorry when he had done anything to hurt me. There is so much going on now with him that I never would have thought possible, stuff to me that is worse than getting hit. I will be praying, please pray God gives me clarity and His strength. Thanks again

No sister, you have that wrong. You said above that within 2 months time you were married, he was already a drunk and started beating you. You also stated that he hit you because you "made him mad." That is absolute nonsense! Nobody makes someone a criminal. It was your husband's choice to become a violent drunk. He was NEVER a solid Christian so long as he believed abusing you was justified. I don't care if he was sorry or not. His actions spoke a different story. He should have gotten help from the get go. Don't you take responsibility for his violence. Please contact that national domestic violence hotline number I gave you above and let them help you restore your life. I have been involved in anti-violence in my community for many, many years and am familiar with all the tactics abusers use against their victims. You are a survivor now and are beginning to walk a new healthy road, praise God! I pray in Jesus' name that you soon realize that the Lord wants you to walk in liberty and peace. Feel free to email me anytime, sister Dawn. Blessings to you in Jesus our Lord.

He quit drinking after that, but your right he's not got the right to hurt me. I'm seeing a lawyer this week. I have no hope in him anymore. He's cruel, he protects himself and the stuff he's done recently is so horrible (I'll spare you from the details). I can't believe everything that's happened to me over the last three years with him. Please pray Gods strength, guidance, clarity, and peace for me. I'm dealing with a lot.

My dear sister Dawn, I'm so sorry you are going through such a horrid trial. But I'm glad to know you got an attorney to protect yourself and your children. You don't have to reveal any details. From what you wrote from the beginning I saw how it was going to play out. The red flags you witnessed all along were typical characteristics of a master manipulator. The court system sees these types of con artists every single day. There is no negotiating with a person who has no conscience. You cannot change him. But nothing is impossible with God. Let the Lord deal with him.

I'm standing in agreement with you that the Lord give you strength, guidance, clarity, and peace that surpasses understanding. I pray you focus on this new day with Christ Jesus and that you are able to rejoice in His love for you. May each day bring you more joy and peace and light. Gracious blessings to you in Jesus! :)
