There are studies that have been done that have proved that cannabis has helped many with cancer. I even have a friend who tried it, but it wiped her out and she had no energy.

In fact, the government is in the process of synthesizing it so that the drug companies can make their money and leave the little guy out of the process.Our state has legalized it for medical purposes. It not only helps cancer, but also helps those with severe chronic pain. I have considered taking it myself. But you can't drive or have a driver's license if you go on medical marijuana. But if sometime in the future I just can't take the pain anymore, I would consider it.

Actually, the drug companies synthesized it back in the 1970's. They put the THC into pill form, minus the high. And, yes, it did relieve pain and calmed the side effects of chemo just as much as smoking a doob did. Little problem. It didn't sell. It seems the people who needed the help, didn't need it quite as much without the high. So it really is all about getting high, not feeling less pain and nauseous. The "medical purposes" is a marketing ploy that worked specifically for selfish reasons. No one really cares if it has any medicinal purposes. They want it legalized for the high.

Kayla, calm down Sister. I'm here for you. I used to have the same rage you did about the use of it. I HATED it i mean HATED IT... and i ADMIT.... The Atheists who abuse this gift are Swine! Sobriety of all kinds is essential because the deceiver lurks around every corner. But answer me this... It also has 100s of other uses too like textile, soap, paper, some of the strongest rope, etc. I believe that it should be used. But dealing smoking if it was legal we Christian should not take part in it for the same reason we dont drink. Both substances can easily be abused.

And, btw, don't confuse alcohol with weed. Jesus and the people throughout the timeline of the Bible had no problems with wine. Most people who drink alcohol don't drink it to the point of getting stoned. You can't inhale just once with weed and NOT get stoned. BIG difference.

Well I get your point that it would be immoral to persecute people for it. However then if you conclude that God let it be made illegal because infidels use it, then my question still remains. How can it be immoral for it to remain illegal while the infidel still smokes it?

Let me put it another way. Would it be correct to say under this logic that if the hippy lettuce was made legal again that it should remain prohibited for the infidels to smoke it? Or in yet another way; would it be correct to say that it is moral to keep weed illegal until we can somehow convince all the infidels to cease from smoking it, and then make it legal again should we accomplish that somehow?

Do you get that point? And, if you think that is a point, how about we say it's immoral to persecute people for stealing too? What possible harm can come from stealing after all, except in the case when the person being stolen from objects, and then gets mugged or killed? Then it's that person's fault because they were being greedy and wouldn't share.

The logic of weed becoming legal is as thoroughly illogical as the case I just made for stealing.

Cancer is not NEARLY the Death Sentence people think it is, only when you treat it with Chemotherapy and Radiation... There's a difference between recreational use and medical use.

And with medical use, there's an oil you can eat or put in baked goods so that you don't have to smoke it. I believe it to be a blessing for those who suffer with cancer.

With one woman who had some other disease that kept her disabled, she began to spread some of the oil on her bread and over time she's been able to have her life back.

It's proven to help and I've read that many have actually been cured of their cancer. There are other diseases it helps with as well.

I don't agree with recreational use and I don't think medical use for long periods of time is good either.

But if used wisely under a physicians care, how can this be any different than using opiates to treat patients diseases/sicknesses?

Also, with the oil, you don't have the same carsinogens as with smoking. I believe that everyone of us would agree to it, if taken under a doctor's care if we had a loved one that was dying and there was no other drug that would help and it's a last choice to save a dying husband, wife, child or best friend.

I have a friend who's dying of breast cancer. I would support her and encourage her if she decides to try using it again.

No problem, I agree EXACTLY with everything you say, and it's nice to see someone who sees drugs like weed as they really are. It's just sad, like it also angers me that people like put up pictures of Jesus smoking a joint and stuff. Like I also find it offensive, but the hippies and potheads just keep doing this stuff and putting stuff like that up, and try to justify weed and them despite how dangerous and the health effects they cause.

It's nice to see someone who sees drugs for what they really are. In this politically correct world we live in right now, people jump to defend weed (and other drugs) and try to justify them. It really outrages me, after seeing what these drugs do to people and families, and to people too.

I agree, he needs help. I will pray that he gets it and goes to get some counselling, rehab and help. I hope he will get the help he needs, he will probably only laugh at our suggestions but I really hope and pray that he will get help too. It's what he needs to get back in touch with reality and to get better.

I'll tell you why that sarcastic comment was made. When someone who is a Christian tries to paint a picture that Jesus would sit and hit a bong with them I consider that eye roll worthy. Now if the person wasn't a Christian,or was 16,the comment would be different. I expect a Christian of his age to know better. And I find it offensive that anyone would say that God has no problem with people being high.

It wasn't you, but when I first arrived here, I was belittled made fun of and totally misunderstood. I have forgiven those who did it. But is that the way we as mature believers should act? It's hurtful to the one receiving it. God's word says to gently correct, come along side in love, carry your brother/sisters burden. In other words, help them out of a bad situation if that's what you perceive there in.

If a person is truly ill,in pain as in cancer that is a different situation. No one has more compassion for people with cancer than I do or sickness. But many of the people saying they need weed for medical reasons is a joke. We already have a nation of shiftless people,we dont need to encourage them.If there is a genuine reason that is a different story but the OP did not say anything about that.

Well I'm taking him at his word. He said he's not an addict and there's years between the use of it. And he mentioned not dying from cancer so I assumed he meant he had cancer. So I responded with that information and not what you seem to have gotten from his posts. I'm not in agreement at all with the recreational use of it.

But anyway, there is a proper use for medical cannabis and if I misunderstood his post and he's using it recreationally, than yeah, I'd be against that. But I still would respond in love because that's who we are as believers.

We can have a different opinion on the issues of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness because without God it means nothing. Actually I don't. Never done marijuana or fasted. But the Bible is clear that we're to check everything against the Bible before believing anything about God. It's also clear that only God can cleanse one's soul and heal it. While researching this, I only found one drug, Marinol that's synthesized THC and is used for side effects from chemotherapy. It also helps aids patients to increase their desire to eat. It's the only one here in the US that's approved by the FDA.

Do you have an article I can read or do you know where you got your info? I know the government patented synthesized THC back in the 70's. But they didn't do anything with it and I think the patent is up in 2017. It could be one of us has the wrong info. I try to keep us with the info for my friends sake because we haven't found a synthesized drug besides the Marinol and that only helps with the chemo and increasing the appetite for aids patients.

Also from the things I've read, the Pharma companies haven't really been interested in getting into this because of the cost.

There's a new drug that a Pharma company's been developing and it's killed one person in the process and five others were hospitalized.
