This sounds familiar to me. I would suggest you go into a little private area.. sit and pour your heart out to God. Ask him for his will according to your child's father. Ask God if it's in his will for you to marry this man, change his heart, remove the things that he does to hurt you, I would also ask God to heal your heart too and forgive. Please go to God and pray and ask him to intervene.

Pray to God, talk to him as a friend, he hears you and he loves you so much to be apart of your life. Pray for his strength and love.

God bless you,

Kanyon

You're Christian, he is catholic. He's a cheater and you're not. He's into adult stuff (probably porn) and is an alcoholic.. You are unequally yoked in every way.. Based on your other posts, the LAST thing you need to be doing is getting married. Turn him over to God and cut yourself loose.

Hi! Sis...

Let me ask you this...how do you feel when you think about you marrying him and spending the rest of your life with this person? Remember that what you choose today will going to have a great impact about your future....and it is you who will going to deal with whatever you will choose today...everyday in the future..can you imagine yourself in that situation...you think you can take it...?
How about this...
Does this person's desire is the same like you? to serve and glorify God...? Because a man that loves God most will love you best...here is another thing i wanna ask you...Does this person is a positive influence in your life?does he help you grow as a responsible person? If your answer is no...then you know what to do....

Pray....ask for guidance from the Lord and listen carefully with what God is telling you...

I've been to that kind of relationship before I didnt listen and disobeyed God...so my disobedience lead me to more heartaches...but I am praising God that it's been over now and before I totally put myself into misery...God used people to wake me up...

Lesson I learned.. Abide in God listen to Him and you will be in the will of God.. HE will guide you in making the most important decisions in lyour life... :)

God bless you and I will be praying for you sis :)

Without the Holy Spirit this man will not change. Oh, he'll say all the right words and behave for a bit, but he'll always regress back to what he really is, and you'll suffer worse for it.

Praying for you, sister.

We do not grow into a spiritual relationship step by step - we either have a relationship or we do not. God does not continue to cleanse us more and more from sin - “But if we walk in the light,” we are cleansed “from all sin” (1 John 1:7). It is a matter of obedience, and once we obey, the relationship is instantly perfected as He goes on to perfect us. But if we turn away from obedience for even one second, darkness and death are immediately at work again.

All of God’s revealed truths are sealed until they are opened to us through obedience. You will never open them through philosophy or thinking. But once you obey, a flash of light comes immediately.

I will pray for you and your child's father indeed, but I would say as advice to let God’s truth (reality) work into you by immersing yourself in it, not by worrying into it. The only way you can get to know the truth of God is to stop trying to find out and by being born again. If you obey God in the first thing He shows you, then He instantly opens up the next truth to you. You could read volumes on the work of the Holy Spirit, when five minutes of total, uncompromising obedience would make things as clear as sunlight. Don’t say, “I suppose I will understand these things someday!” You can understand them now. And it is not study that brings understanding to you, but obedience. Even the smallest bit of obedience opens heaven, and the deepest truths of God immediately become yours. Yet God will never reveal more truth about Himself to you, until you have obeyed what you know already. Beware of becoming one of the “wise and prudent.” “If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know…” (John 7:17).

As you are with Him, do the will of the Father in that which He makes clear to you to do. And nothing is off the table, for He is your life. I have plenty of opinions concerning this, but I need only to share Scripture and let you sit in Christ's rest to hear Him.

* Jesus answered and said, "I thank You, Father…that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes." (Matthew 11:25).

* For this is the will of God, your sanctification. (1 Thessalonians 4:3).

* "Don't develop partnerships with those who are not followers of Jesus' teachings. For what real connection can exist between righteousness and rebellion? How can Light participate in darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14 VOICE).

* "Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers ....(2 Corinthians 6:14 ESV).

My prayers are also there for you!

The Bible says not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers.
It also says that a man and woman shouldn't have sex until they are married.
This is why God wrote these rules. Not to be a tyranical dictator, but to protect you from getting into a bad situation.

Since you are not married, I would advise you to cut bait and walk away before your situation gets worse.
Consider it a learning experience and look for someone of the same faith who will be a good husband and father.

This is a difficult situation. I understand wanting to stay and pray for him--especially since he is the father of your child. However, if he is unwilling to go to counseling, you may need to reassess. First, pray! Second, seek the counsel of your pastor or other pastoral help. God can heal and mend anything, but he wants us to reach out to others.

True love has many "signatures". Never doubting your love for each other is one of them. You're asking if you should get married even if you have doubts........you just answered your own question. You are a Christian. So place full trust in God to lead you and He will put you in a far better place than where you are now. Father in Heaven, we pray You will light a clear path for MR95 and her son. Bless them and keep them in Your love and mercy, as you guide them to a better life in Christ Jesus, in whose Holy name we humbly pray.........AMEN

I am so sorry for your struggle. I've been married to a recovering alcoholic for over 25 years now so I understand how emotionally trying it can be. Have you considered going to Al-Anon? It's has been my lifeline to understanding the disease and the challenges of loving an addict. Help and Hope for Families and Friends of Alcoholics I'll be praying for you.
