Two US Air Force HC-130J Combat King II aircraft have arrived in the Middle East from Germany to support a high-risk combat search and rescue mission for the missing crew member of an F-15E Strike Eagle shot down over Iran on April 3.

But the types of forces that are there are light expeditionary forces designed for Withdrawal type Raids (in and out) attacks or to capture airfields, ports or key infrastructure...
Large Ground sized Forces are not in the AoR...
Unfortunately, with this One Missing Pilot - this is A VERY TENSE scenario... they are certainly hoping to find him first or to create more Problems than anyone had hoped for the rescue forces...
Holding our breath and praying for the best...
Nothing good will happen if they capture a US Soldier as prisoner...

Ya, I was trying to get a pulse from the US Military ...
They did report that two Apache aircraft were shot at and were hit, but they were able to make it back safely...
There way an A=10 Warthog Aircraft that was shot and went down over the water in the Gulf and that pilot was recovered...
