When Jesus established a new covenant he said the following:

In the same way also the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” ! Cor 11:25.

And likewise the cup after supper, saying, “This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood. Luke 22:20.

A covenant or will which are interchangeable in scripture foretells of a new covenant which happens at the death of someone, in this case it was Jesus. The new Covenant began at Pentecost.

O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified? 2 Let me ask you only this: Did you receive the Spirit by works of the law, or by hearing with faith? 3 Are you so foolish? Having begun with the Spirit, are you now ending with the flesh? 4 Did you experience so many things in vain?—if it really is in vain. 5 Does he who supplies the Spirit to you and works miracles among you do so by works of the law, or by hearing with faith? Gal. 3:1-5.

When one looks at the cross he is washed with the water and blood which flowed from the Lord's body.

Did you know our calendar should have been started at the death of our Savior, not his birth. Just food for thought.

I think timing was never based off of when the new covenant started. It's based off the timekeeping of "in the "X" year of King "Y". So we are in the year of our lord 2021, because it is year 2021 of his reign (Declaring that he was our king from the moment he was born, and his reign never ending).

Sorry, but the New Covenant did not begin at the Pentecost. It clearly began at the Last Supper, when Jesus declared it did.
I would agree to an extent, but that is why there is a delay in the story of the 10 handmaids/virgins.

Heb 9:16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.
Heb 9:17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

The new covenant/testament did not come into being until Christ died. Anything before that was just prophetic.

A covenant starts at the death, when the blood is spilt, it can't be changed after the death. Like a will it needs to be sorted before the death. The details of the new covenant was written long before Christ came to the Earth. The most important covenant of all was set up long before this world came into existence. It was a covenant between the Father and the Son and had to do with the eventuality of sin. Jesus offered Himself there in the vast eternity of the past as the "Lamb slain from the foundation of the world." Revelation 13:8. He agreed to become the atoning sacrifice to redeem man, should Adam and Eve choose to sin.

The terms of that eternal covenant have never been changed or superseded. Although many other covenants have been established through the years, the simple provision of salvation through faith has remained in effect through all ages, for all mankind.

He describes the institution of a new covenant which has some very important advantages over the old. Here is how he describes the two: "But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second. For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.

It is only new because it was signed and sealed after the old covenant, the blood that established it was spilt second. So it was new, but that doesn't mean it wasn't set in place long before. Did Abraham believe in it, Did David believe in a coming Christ, were the people of the old testament saved by faith?

"Therefore, when Christ came into the world, He said: “Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but a body You prepared for Me. In burnt offerings and sin offerings You took no delight. Then I said, ‘Here I am, it is written about Me in the scroll: I have come to do Your will, O God.’ ”…--Hebrews 10:15-7

I find this verse so beautiful. I went back to find it again and accidentally typed Ch. 5 instead of 10--curious that I had not noticed the bit in bold before. It's off the topic, but so little is said about the importance of obedience.

"7 During the days of Jesus’ life on earth, he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one who could save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverent submission. 8 Son though he was, he learned obedience from what he suffered 9 and, once made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him 10 and was designated by God to be high priest in the order of Melchizedek."--Hebrews 5:7-10

The new Covenant began at Pentecost.
Yes, the gift of the Holy Spirit under the New Covenant was given on the day of Pentecost. But the New Covenant itself began on the 14th of Nisan, 30 AD when Christ died on the cross and proclaimed "IT IS FINISHED!" The veil within the temple was supernaturally torn from top to bottom, in order to confirm that entrance into the Holy of Holies in Heaven was now available to those who would believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.

Seeing then that we have a Great High Priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. (Heb 4:14-16)

While the Old Covenant was in force, only the High Priest could enter into the Holy of Holies just once a year (on the Day of Atonement -- Yom Kippur). But since that veil was torn, the Old Covenant was rendered obsolete. Ideally, the High Priest should have announced that Christ finished the work of Atonement, and there would be no more days of Atonement or temple worship. But that did not happen. Instead God caused the temple to be destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD because the High Priest at the time condemned Christ to death and did not repent.

Christ fulfilled all that was told of Him in the OT, Christ became our reality.

God shed blood on the altar for the forgiveness of our sins and the blood of perfect animals was given for that. Christ fulfilled that, he gave the real blood.

People marked their bodies to show they were different and belonged to God, Christ marked our hearts and through our hearts we belong to God. Christ completed that and made it a reality.

Christ explained how this worked in the sermon on the mount. He said "you have been told" and then "but I tell you". Christ made laws in stone a true law of the heart, Christ fulfilled and brought it to reality.

Obedience is made possible by the writing of God's law on the heart. Through spiritual regeneration the mind and heart are transformed. Christ actually enters into the life of the believer and imparts His own strength for obedience. By partaking of the divine nature, the weakest human being begins to live the very life of Jesus Christ, manifesting His victory, and crucifying the flesh.

Paul describes that transaction this way: "For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." Romans 8:3, 4.

The word for righteousness is "dikaima," meaning "just requirement" of the law. In other words, because of Jesus' sinless life in the flesh, the requirement of the law can be fulfilled in us. He overcame sin in the same kind of body we have, so that He could impart that victory to us. He will actually live out His own holy life of separation from sin in our earthly bodies if we will permit Him to do so. This is the New Covenant promise for every believing, trusting child of God. And it is absolutely the only way that anyone can meet the requirements of the law: "Christ in you, the hope of glory." Colossians 1:27. "The life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me." Galatians 2:20.

May I see scripture showing that the destruction of the temple was because of the high priest failure to repent?

Because we are born in sin God gave us repentance. We can't be perfect in our obedience, but we can want to be perfect.

Yes we can and we should!

Mat_5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Psa_34:14 Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
Psa_36:3 The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good.
Psa_37:3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
Psa_37:27 Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.
Psa_51:18 Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.
Psa_125:4 Do good, O LORD, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts.

Yes, I agree!

The New Covenant is also called in scripture "an everlasting covenant."

The Old Covenant was between God and and man, but was broken by man.

The New Covenant is between God and man, but the Man Christ Jesus.

It cannot be broken and will last forever!

God is holy, God is love, God is good. God wrote the old covenant and God wrote the new covenant. God never disagrees with God even when God gives us something better and new.

We are told the difference in the covenants in Jeremiah, and that difference was not in content but in the way it was presented. The old covenant was of the flesh and its commands were fleshly commands that were to lead to spiritual understanding. Men got so caught up in the fleshly commands they ignored the spiritual, so God presented the spiritual direct to our hearts and took away the earthly commands.

“The New Covenant is also called in scripture "an everlasting covenant."

“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:35‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1:23, 25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Lord; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and for ever.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭59:21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

A covenant consists of a word from God and then after it’s spoken in full the blood is shed. The blood is according To The word the mediator has spoken before the blood is shed for remission

This was the old covenant word and blood

“And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the Lord hath said will we do, and be obedient.

And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the Lord hath made with you concerning all these words.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭24:7-8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the new covenant is Jesus words and his blood which are connected like the ot law and blood were so Jesus foret preached the word to the people

“Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:14-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Then after he preached the gospel about three years

If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:15-17‬ ‭

he then shed the blood for remission
