Hello! I wanted to chime in and say I can relate with "church hunting" and not "church hopping." Which is very important. 4 years is a long time. What always worked for me is seeking the Lord and opening myself up to going where He leads me to go attend and become a member. It always went better that way. For example; One year while I lived in Anchorage, Alaska, I had moved there from Seward, Alaska where I had attended Seward Chapel Church for 5 years solid! God had moved me on in life and I sort of wondered around for a while and found what I called "The fun church.". It was called Change Point Church and was one of the larger mega churches with multi-million dollar budgets for all the latest gagetry and they could afford the concerts and huge live events. I got plugged in and involved doing great things like being one of the camera guys doing professional grade filming of services and events. A lady from Channel 2 NEW crew trained me professionally. Each class room had it's own sound boards and video streamning equipment. I mean they had "the works!" Their entire children's church was themed out by a company called "Wacky World" There were indoor slides, boats, and other large attractions that made children's church seem more like an indoor theme park more than a church. I was attending small group men's bible studies and worship during the week. I was working multiple services doing some of the filming. I was so enjoying myself. I was about to volunteer to get in with the sound and lighting guys/techs when the Holy Spirit said to me, "Are you done having fun yet? Can we go do what I want to do now?". I answered; "Yes Lord.". The next few months went by and I wound up moving North of there to Wasilla, Alaska and God put me in a small church with only roughly about 150 to 300 attendees which was rather small compared to the big mega church of litterally THOUSANDS of folks. I walked in and when I did I look up at the rafters and the decor and suddenly I knew that I knew, I was HOME! I attended there for years after that because God led me there. I grew so much in that smaller church. So I would say to allow the Lord to lead and guide you to where He wants to "plug you in." It worked for me.
