Hello, My name is Timothy. Im 30, love Jesus, country music, and Donald Trump! I don't know how to make friends or make interesting posts hahahahahaha!

Ive struggled with addiction for awhile and recently was able to give it all up thanks to God :)

My roommate still struggles and gets drunk everyday. Its hard for me to be around him when he's drinking so I guess I am here to make friends.
What state are y'all from???

Welcome Timothy. I had an apartment neighbour who used to pass out drunk, leaving his stereo on so loud it made my windows rattle. Nothing could wake him. One day some friends came around because they feared he'd died. A few of us prayed for him. He knocked on my door one day. He came to apologise. His sister, a Christian had led him to the Lord. He'd sold his surfer panel van, bought a small truck and started a gardening business. He was off the booze. He found nicer accomodation so I lost track of him. The change was amazing. What God did for my neighbour (I'd never actually met him until then), he can do for your roommate.

I love hearing stories like this. God is truly a big God and NOBODY knows what he has up his sleeve. My roommate is a Christian. I’ve actually known him most of my life. I’ve talked to him a lot about it -- I've offered to quit my job and go to rehab with him, go to AA, I buy Non-Alcoholic beers and keep them in the fridge just in case todays the day he wants to quit. It is very frustrating because I really do care about him. I really just need to let it go and let God take care of him. It's just hard to sit back and watch this happen. He's basically my brother anymore.

HAH! I've definitely noticed. But that's okay. Whats even more funny is I don't know how to make my profile picture something that is not in my camera roll

You can use any image file you have saved on your computer :)

It is recommended that you use an image that is at least 400x400 pixels.

Much wow. Magenta, you are like a computer genius. You've even got home-made pictures -- how do you do all of that? Do you work with computers for a job?

Hello Timothy.

I am currently living in the Trump loving, country music loving, Jesus loving state of Tennessee having moved from Florida at the end of last year.

I struggle with a nicotine addiction but have been totally smoke free for over 4 months and only sparingly used since mid February. The nicotine lozenges helped but I ended that regimen about 2 months ago. Thanks to God for you being able to give the addictions up.

I understand about the drinking too as my brother is an alcoholic and has been for years. To not end up like him I gave up alcohol in 1992.

This site is an excellent resource for making friends. The best thread for this is the Speak Your Mind thread which is an oasis of sorts in the usually hostile Bible Discussion Forum.

Glad to have you as part of our family. Welcome to CC.

Good day, Timothy! My apologies for my tardy reply, as I did not see this sooner... I did work as a photo printer my whole adult life, so was exposed (haha pun not intended LOL) to much beauty there for the past oh my goodness, it was 44 years until I got laid off last year mid March due to covid and having just received my cancer diagnosis... I had just turned 65 so it was like being unexpectedly required to retire :D Even at work, when it was not busy, for the last ten years I was there, I was allowed to be online or doing my own thing on my computer, which more and more became designing my own Scripture panels, though I have done a few others as well, such as prayer requests, and perhaps you saw some of the 12 step ones I did? And other whimsical things, some of which are in my Scripture Art thread. Yes, computers were part of my job, more so once digital really started taking hold in the early 2000's, changing everything! That was also when I learned how to do some very remedial things in Photoshop, like resizing, file conversions, digital dusting and touch ups, though those were not normally things I did, as I was more just a printer and color corrector, sorting/checking work for quality control, and yes, I looked at every single one of every picture our customers gave to us! Ha ha.

When digital first came on the scene it was not very attractive to me because people did not seem to know what they were doing and lots of images were way too pixelated, but things improved quickly, and I discovered that it was a lot of fun playing around with images. At first it was mostly very simple stuff, finding fonts, adding text and borders to existing pictures, etc etc, but eventually, and this is the maybe kind of weird thing, because I was looking for fonts after resetting my laptop back to factory conditions after it fell on the floor a couple of times from my desk at work... so I was looking for fonts when I started coming across other things, image files online, that I could use if I were designing images myself, which I had not quite yet started doing at the level I am now... and then I found out later that I did not even need to get fonts again, but only reinstall the ones that were still on my computer! What I am trying to convey is that it was like a series of accidents that led me into it, though in truth I do not believe in accidents LOL. Some of the first things I designed here were welcome panels for new members. I used to custom make them by adding the member name to a panel I had already designed that was undergoing constant upgrades, and that was back in the day when we had loads of people joining, especially on the weekend. That got to be a bit much so I designed a number of welcome panels over a span of time and finally settled on the one I am using now in conjunction with the music videos and Scripture panels.

Ah! I finally found one of my early welcomes :D That is from January of 2018 :)

I used to make them all purple :giggle:
