I work on the Sabbath as well. As a Priest to God's Kingdom. The priest's were called to do double duty on the Sabbath.

Even Jesus called out the contradiction of the priest "work" on the Sabbath (and so my words aren't taken out of context or people acting like I'm cherry picking, Christ also finished up his thought by saying that they were blameless, but the contradiction of the law was pointed out)And this is what always throws me off.
There is a difference between doing God's work and doing your own pleasures. Setting up chairs, speaking, teaching and whatever else needs to done to be sure that God's people are fed the word of God of the Sabbath is considered acceptable. Working overtime so you can buy a new boat, not so much.

I'm not even talking about working any overtime. I'm speaking on what Jesus said in Matthew 12:5, where he said that the priest working in the temple profaned the Sabbath but are blameless.
And this is what always throws me off.
Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin, and whose mouth there is no guile. That's what grace is all about. Believe it.
Now the end [goal] of the commandment is love out of a pure heart, a good conscience, and sincere faith.
From which some having deviated have turned aside unto vain talk; desiring to be teachers of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm. But we know that the law is good if a man use it lawfully knowing that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, ... and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; 1 Timothy 1:5-10
Jesus was coming against their heart, not their actions. Working on the Sabbath, even in a ministry setting isn't pleasing to God if you're doing it out of selfishness or obligation. He wants us to have the heart of a true priest to minister to God and His people.
That's why he told the Pharisees in Matthew 21 that they should have been practicing justice, mercy and faithfulness, without neglecting the small tithing of herbs.
Similarly in Isaiah 1, God comes against the priests offerings because their hearts weren't in line with His.
Depends. Depends on what the fire is used for...
This scripture gets pulled out of context and twisted so much, it is hard to recognize it at times, but let's read what it really says...
Exo 35:1 And Moses gathered all the congregation of the children of Israel together, and said unto them, These are the words which the LORD hath commanded, that ye should do them.
Exo 35:2 Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death.
Notice what verse 2 says, we are talking about work.
Exo 35:3 Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day.
Now notice what comes immediately after...
Exo 35:4 And Moses spake unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying, This is the thing which the LORD commanded, saying,
Exo 35:5 Take ye from among you an offering unto the LORD: whosoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it, an offering of the LORD; gold, and silver, and brass,
Exo 35:6 And blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats' hair,
Exo 35:7 And rams' skins dyed red, and badgers' skins, and shittim wood,
Exo 35:8 And oil for the light, and spices for anointing oil, and for the sweet incense,
Exo 35:9 And onyx stones, and stones to be set for the ephod, and for the breastplate.
For what? Why?
Exo 35:10 And every wise hearted among you shall come, and make all that the LORD hath commanded;
Exo 35:11 The tabernacle, his tent, and his covering, his taches, and his boards, his bars, his pillars, and his sockets,
The instruction here is about a communal fire to work on the Tabernacle. Doing that work were hired tradesman working at their occupation. God is showing here that working at your occupation, even for a noble cause, is not to be done on the Sabbath.
Slight tangent......
When I first started learning about the Torah and all the different commands in there, I was really confused about this one.
We had a wood stove in our house for our heat when God started laying this on my heart. So I lit a fire in our stove Friday evening to give us heat all night and into the next day. Now, I wasn't well-versed in fire making at the time, so in order to keep the fire going all night, I stayed up most of the night keeping it stoked so I wouldn't have to kindle another one.
After several hours of thinking how stupid this was, God showed me how I need to be just as diligent in not letting my fire and love for Him go out. I need to always keep stoking that fire so I don't have to kindle another one.
Now back to your regularly scheduled program.

I think it helps to see where people stand and to know where people are coming from when you talk to them.

the bible says about one day alone, it is "the seventh". it does not say "shabbath" it seems to be saturday or sabado in my language. the proper day to sanctify is "the seventh"
1st monday. 2nd tuesday. 3rd wednesday. 4th thursday. 5th friday. 6th saturday. and 7th IS SUNDAY, NOT SATURDAY

We turn on lights and heat our home during the Sabbath and even use the range and microwave to prepare meals. I don't have a problem with that, although we do the heavy lifting (baking, roasting, boiling etc) on the prep day.
The mill I work at runs the boiler on the Sabbath. I have no part in that and do not work on the Sabbath. It is out of my control, but if it were mine, I would not fire it on the Sabbath, the mill would be shutdown on the Sabbath.
Just out of curiosity, where did you get this from? Sunday has never been, is not now and never will be the seventh day.
