Don't be putting words in the church's mouth. There are thousands of Christian churches that teach many ways to be saved. Your particular church chooses the OSAS way. Many, many other Christian churches do not. Just look at this forum for my proof.
Yes Sir, have it your way, God bless.

Walk trough the valley
Assessing a person must be done in our Christian journey. That is not judgement or slander.......it is the required process if we are to do G-d's work. Yes...G-d's work!!!
My time on this page is over, I hear 3
MY theology judges?
I've never told anyone on here that they're going to hell.
I, OTOH, have been told many times.

Paul and Peter were not speaking to unbelievers...
they were speaking about believers.
2 Peter 2:20-22

Still waiting for that to be explained.
And so many other verse.
To clear up what I believe, the verse that sums it up best, just from memory I'm my own words.
We trust in the Living God who is the saviour of all men, especially of them that believe, for this cause we both labour and suffer reproach. I'm also aware this has been twisted even by those who believe in eternal security, that God can't be that good. The more we know the Love of God the more we suffer with Him and grow in freedom, those who don't believe in the necessity to follow in His sufferings wont come to freedom. Women and children are not called to suffer with Him the same as men, but we all suffer just like the thieves on the cross both suffered and the one who resisted the Lord suffered much more, I decided to post this publicly as well it can't hurt and that's part of the trouble it needs to motivate us to follow in His suffering. We are the believing thieves and liars, those who admit it most recover from needing to defend themselves and accuse others. Can you bear to know what makes us thieves and liars. They are, who are they, those we accuse and don't forgive all of us who cause divisions, did not Jesus die to bring us into the unity of the faith. I just realised I'm no longer speaking to you here sister, but to those hardened criminals who are safe in His hands and not joking here, as mentioned we all suffer willingly or worse when we resist. I will continue the rest on the Page God speed on your journey May the anointing you receive make us all jealous may you be filled with the Joy of the Lord with you cup running over and your enemies begging at your feet to forgive them. may you excel in all, you do and obtain an everlasting crown.

Dear God's Grace, I admire your teachable spirit
there is more to eternal security than what you mentioned here.
Let me mention briefly an extreme view of eternal security that the Catholics had in the middle age, based on all manner of sin shall be forgiven to man except rejecting the Holy Spirit, and why it became such a dangerous view. Before the reformation, there was a previous smaller reformation, who believed lets say somewhat like you, they were put to death, a whole city including the Catholics in the city because there was no way to tell them apart form one from another. This was done believing that since we are eternally secure, this was the way to wipe out division from the church and no harm done and the Lord would sort it out. Those who did this are obviously awaiting the final judgment in hell. Shure they are eternally secure. Dear I am not joking they are still in Gods hands just like the Christians in the world wars killing each other. Jesus has the keys of death and hell. Don't think that the Catholics did not believe in eternal security, but that what happened was enough to think otherwise. I don't remember the name of the church involved and this in not the only time these thing happened. In a way its sobering to accept eternal security as being loved by God as we are, giving us freedom to grow in Love and not to turn away from His Love. I know you believe this and I do as well and so does everyone. But we have an enemy and we need to be patient and wise.
Hi S,
You write such deep thoughts that I always have to think about what you write...
Then I forgot to reply!

What you write above is pretty much how I feel about those that believe in OSAS.
First of all, I cannot find this concept in scripture.
Secondly, I've read a very little bit (there's soooo much) of the Early Church Fathers and I cannot find one that believes this. At least the orthodox ones....

I think it's a very dangerous doctrine as believed by some.
I think this causes some to be proudful and to not behave in a way that is pleasing to God.
Maybe because they feel they can never quench the Holy Spirit? I'm not sure.

Then there are those who are truly following Christ and living in the Kingdom of God here on earth, but they cannot fathom leaving the side of Christ...this is a totally different concept.

For myself, I find a lot of warnings in the N.T. and I think we should take heed if Jesus and Paul and the others feel it important enough to write about them (the warnings).

Yes Sir, have it your way, God bless.
He happens to be right TT. Most churches DO believe one could become lost again.
Right after dinner, I'm going to tackle your post on the verses you THINK show OSAS to be right.
Call it what you will BTW,
OSAS
Eternal Security
Preservation of the Saints
Assurance of Faith

It's all ALMOST the same.

We do not cling for salvation btw....that is not what Jesus is teaching.
What IS He teaching?

John 15:1-6 JESUS SAID:
1“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.
2“Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit.
3“You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.
4“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, so neither can you unless you abide in Me.
5“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.
6“If anyone does not abide in Me, he is thrown away as a branch and dries up; and they gather them, and cast them into the fire and they are burned. "

1. Who is the vine?
2. What does "take away" mean?
3. What does "abide" mean?
4. What happens to the branch that does not bear fruit?
5. Who are the branches?
6. Can we do anything without the vine?
7. If we do not abide...what happens to us?

It does not matter on iota what "most churches" believe. The only "matter" is what the Word of God has to say. The bible should be worshiped and not a "church." The bible tells us how to be saved, how to live, how to please God, why we were brought to life, why we matter as humans and so very much more. There will be no denominations in heaven.

We have not yet attained our immortal body.

As far as God is concerned,,,,we are seated in heavenly places with Jesus as long as we remain in Jesus.

God is without time....
But we are...so we can understand that this is happening spiritually, but in time will be true.
I cannot remember ever calling you a liar if I did my apologies and I certainly do not believe I am or have the need to be right all the time.

Are Christians at this time immortal? Yes we are but the promise of our redemption is not fully realized yet. That is what offering our life as a living sacrifice is about so that we can be prepared for eternal life. Living each day is a test to do our best but we often fail. In heaven everything is perfect so no failing at all.

To rely on works to maintain your eternal salvation because you are not fully immortal is not the smart girl thing to do. To rely on God to bring redemption to our finite earthly body is the smart way to go.

Ps. this popup new app on the lower left hand side of he page is very annoying to say the least it is going to wear out my mouse and including my patients also, doesn't anybody agree! This new popup app seems to get in the way of posting right at the same time i'm trying to finish typing, very boring,,,, :(

The bible say's God raised us up with Christ in Heavenly realms; you are wrong again and again and your fake gospel is the worst I have ever heard. If the bible disagrees with your "fake gospel" you just discard what the bible say's.

Ephesians 2:6
And God "raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms" in Christ Jesus
AMEN...John is clear and those things were written so that we may know that we HAVE ETERNAL LIFE.....present tense....NOT that WE WILL GET IT..............the body is already DEAD because of sin.......the spirit is ALIVE forevermore....her dogma fails the smell test on every turn.......ad again she cannot comprehend that I am judging her DOGMA.....and what she espouses and peddles does not equate to the biblical version that saves a man....

HAHAHAHAHHAHH wow.........and guess what....there is only ONE correct message......JESUS was clear.....the word is MANY or better yet PLENTEOUS in NUMBER that comes before his throne claiming him as LORD and the right to enter based upon their GOOD works in his name....

The same rigmarole peddled by all so called religions that teach faith plus works to gain, keep, finish or top off salvation.....

No Thank You, I have the Holy Spirit and I wait on on Him to reveal His Truth

I have limited knowledge but what I know is absolute Truth.

I have no need for books and more books trying to explain and make everything so complicated which only obfuscates the simplicity of the Gospel.
AMEN......many here push creeds and the so called "church fathers" as the sole source of truth..........ridiculous

i do agree that our SOUL is immortal....
But we are not immortal yet... our bodies will die.

1 Timothy 6:14-16
14that you keep the commandment without stain or reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,
15which He will bring about at the proper time—He who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords,
16who alone possesses immortality and dwells in unapproachable light, whom no man has seen or can see. To Him be honor and eternal dominion! Amen.

Amen and Amen and Amen!
I've been asking this forever....

Right after dinner, I'm going to tackle your post on the verses you THINK show OSAS to be right.
Call it what you will BTW,
OSAS
Eternal Security
Preservation of the Saints
Assurance of Faith

It's all ALMOST the same.
Psalm 23:6
Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

God's Eternal Salvation is nothing less than forever; I will follow what the bible say's about; "Assurance of Salvation", not your cheap imitation of what you believe.

Most protestant denominations teach the security of the believer you are completely wrong about that.

Here are just a few verses that support, "The Security of the Believer", your gospel is as fake as a 3 dollar bill and everyone knows it.

Assurance of Salvation

"The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,"
Romans 8:16

John 5:24 - "has eternal life"
Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me 'has eternal life'. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.
John 3:36 - "has eternal life"
Whoever believes in the Son 'has eternal life'; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
Ephesians 2:8-9 - "have been saved"
For by grace you 'have been saved' through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
John 10:28 - "never parish"
I give them eternal life, and they will 'never perish', and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
1 John 5:13 - "that you may "know" that you have "eternal life."
I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God 'that you may know that you have eternal life."
Romans 8:1 - "no condemnation"

There is therefore now 'no condemnation' for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Romans 10:13 - "will be saved"
For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord 'will be saved.”
John 3:16 - "have eternal life"

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but
'have eternal life."
Romans 10:13-14 - "will be saved"

For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?
John 10:27-30 - "I give them eternal life"
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. 'I give them eternal life', and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. I and the Father are one.”
John 6:37 - "I will never cast out"
All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me 'I will never cast out."
John 14:16 - our advocate "The Holy Spirit", will be with us "forever"
"And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and 'be with you forever.
Romans 8:38-39 - "nothing will separate us from the love of God."

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
