I know that God is good, and that he's working out His plan in my life. This holiday weekend was rough though. This will be the first holiday season in my entire life that I cannot go home at all. I haven't broken it to anyone yet, but you bet it will be dramatic and I'll get a guilt trip from someone.
I don't do so well when my routine is broken. I know this, and you'd think I would prepare for it; but alas, I don't. For routine I get up each morning, get ready, have a quickie devo and then walk 5 miles to work. Somewhere in the middle I stop for coffee and I do a little more devo time usually. My whole walk is a purging time. Half the time I'm walking down the street with tears streaming down my face. Usually, by the time I make it to work I'm able to function. However, when my routine is interrupted (by rain-- and I can't walk, by illness--I need to sleep in, by vacation--where my focus becomes catching up on sleep or catching up with family and friends) I fall off the deep end. It's scary. I think I'm hormonally out of whack also, which doesn't help anything. I have not felt as bad as I did Wednesday night in a long time. I was completely out of sorts and it only got worse as the days progressed. I began purging (as in eating disorder purging) multiple times per day partly because I was anxious about not walking 5 miles to work everyday, and eating more though I didn't eat much because I got sick everytime I tried.
I spent Thanksgiving night with a friend. The evening went well. There were lots of people there and I was actually social which can be a challenged for me in times of serious stress. Though this was the home of one of my best friends so she knew she had to reach out a bit so that I could meet her somewhere in the middle. Then Friday I was miserable. Since my husband has started talking to me again it has been a roller coaster. One week he's as happy as a clam because I visited him. The next he wants to kill himself because I told him he had to find another place to live until he could prove to me that he was going to follow through. The next week he's giddy again. Then he gets mad at me for even suggesting that I may not be able to make it to see him one of the 2 days I had planned to see him because I might have a committment that can't be rescheduled. He hung up on me four days in a row and it was like a slap in the face every time. I almost didn't see him at all because I didn't know how he'd be in person, but I was convinced by my father-in-law to have grace...though I still wasn't so sure if this was a time that it required grace. The meeting went well. But again he's pressuring me to come back home. And he can't. I know that his reactions are his choices and have nothing to do with my actions. I do understand that, and I'm not backing down from telling him the truth and setting those boundaries with him, but I do not look forward to having to repeat myself over and over again and throw my hands up to block his reactions. Regardless of them being his reactions, they still hurt.
I fill like I'm back into a corner with my hands in front of my face about to be clobbered.
I love my husband, but he's driving me up a wall and I don't know what to do with him. I want to talk to him, but I feel like it's just hurting me much of the time. I want to visit him, but I'm always wondering when he's going snap and attack. My love language is physical touch and acts of service. I feel like I should be on the other side of the room from him when we meet, but I can't bring myself to do that.
I can't see up from down. I don't know the future of my marriage. I don't know how long I can last when I'm always having to be defensive and be the strong one. I feel like I'm not allowed to have a bad day because he cannot support me at all, and if he tries, then he ignores taking care of himself. I feel like I've got nothing backing me, and I'm just holding up myself. I know it's not true. I also know it's the tip of the iceberg.
One grand revelation that I did find this weekend was regarding that tip of the iceberg concept. Often I find myself doing very simple clumsy things and completely flying off the handle. In my mind I always hear " Why does this always happen to me?" Now this is over stupid things like dropping my brush when I tried to put it in the drawer. I've always wondered why it was such a strong reaction to such a petty mistake. However, because I was purging, I began thiking about the concept of purging. And out of that coming when I dropped my brush on the floor, I laid on my living room floor and sobbed over one very simple thing. I feel like I have the weight of caring for myself by myself, and trying to stand under the manipulations of my husband on my shoulders. It's not that I feel like I have to fix him, or even that I can, but it's just the knowing.

Father thank you for giving Jordache the peace of God that passes all understanding, joy unspeakable and full of glory, and your peaceful presence and assurance, remove depression, and fear, let her sup in your presence and not worry, in Jesus name amen
Keep your eyes on him sister

You must be under a tremendous amount of emotional and physical stress, and if I could understand that, I would cry. God indeed is good, and He's right there with you, in your heart. No matter how many times you fall, His hand is always there to help you back up. He is your shepherd. He loves you no matter what. He is your rock, your foundation on which you can lay upon soundly and rest. If you reach out your hand to Him, He will take yours and pull you up. Right now, there is only one set of footprints in the sand, and He's carrying you.

Loving Heavenly Father, I lift Jordache up to You. Thank you for guiding her thus far in life, and please continue to guide her through her times of pain and anguish. Show her the strength she needs to withstand in this time and speak to her heart. Show her the courage she needs, and show her the patience she needs to put up with her husband. Lord, show her husband how much she loves him. Thank you, Father. We love, praise, and honor You. In Jesus' name, amen.

I need to preface what I'm about to say with two things. First, God adores YOU and only wants the best for you. Second, what I say is out of love and compassion for you. God heals, truly He does, but we also must seek medical attention when needed. Purging is dangerous and if you've just begun, stop before the cycle begins. If you've been doing it for some time, you are at risk for serious health issues. Once any medical issues are managed, try to find a good Christian counselor, one who will help you identify a plan of action, measure progress and adjust as necessary. You have so much going on and someone may be able to help you break it down into manageable chunks. Anytime we have a lot to do, we have to take small steps or nothing is accomplished. Don't get me wrong, God is the ultimate healer but we are also supposed to take care of ourselves (no one's perfect) inasmuch as we can. You may need medication to help you reach a point where you can manage - there's no shame in that. It would be a better option than the downward spiral you seem to feel you're in. I don't have all the answers and what I say here may not be THE answer for you, but I am concerned enough for your well being to suggest a few options. God MUST be a part of whatever you do and it sounds like you have devotionals so that is good. God says to be still and know that I am God - without sounding judgmental I hope, are you waiting and listening for that still small voice?

Father God, I pray that you would let my sweet sister know that she is your beloved. Let her rest with confidence in your ability to bring the peace that passes understanding into a world that feels so chaotic and out of control to her. Please Lord, help her to remember your loved ones who walked this earth before her and were comforted by you...David, as he was pursued by King Saul; Paul as he shared the gospel and was imprisoned; Job, who lost all worldly possessions. And Father, I know when you're suffering it's not always easy to hear that others have been through similar or worse situations and You, God, know this is not my intent, but please allow this beautiful child of yours to find hope in the lives of your servants. May she focus on You first, the Almighty, because You chose to focus your love on her. Dear God, we know that not everyone experiences immediate healing from their circumstances, but Father, I beg of you to hear your child's desperate cry and answer her as You see fit, for only You know what is best for your beloved children. Father, please grant your precious child the ability to withstand all that is coming up against her and help her to remember that in her weakness, You are her strength. Lord, no one wants to be in the place she is and as I seek your will, I just pray that you would hear each voice that lifts her up in prayer as though it were a thousand, that her needs would come before the throne of the Almighty as if all mankind dropped on bended knee to pray for healing for her. Lord, I further pray that you would bless her with the gift of discernment, insight and good judgment, so she will be make decisions that are within your will. Please Father, cover her and protect her and keep her strong in her faith. Let her light shine for others to see. May she gain strength daily that she may testify to others about your wonderful love and plan for her life. God, as You work on her life, I pray for her husband also, for he is Your son. I pray that he will feel led to become the Godly husband that your daughter deserves. Please Father, give him an unquenchable desire to know and serve You. Lord, I thank you for your sovereignty, for loving us even when we sometimes have difficulty loving ourselves. Please let this husband and wife see themselves as You see them, not with puffed up pride, but with confidence and humility. Lord, we love you and desire Your will in everything. Thank you for the gift of everlasting life through your Son, Jesus Christ. It is in His Name I pray, Amen.

I do have a Christian counselor. I also have a large support system. I am not alone.
I was diagnosed bulemarexic when I was 17 years old after my hair fell out and I had a TIA. I went through a bit of treatment and I really haven't actively struggled with it much since then. Ive had bouts of a week here and there, but nothing like when i was a teenager. I am not purging any longer. It is something I occasionally fall into when certain circumstances arise. Thank you for your concern. I told my two best friends after about 2 days, one of whom has had her own eating disorder. I also told my very good friend and pastor. I have grown enough to at least let people know when I'm hurting myself.

Heavenly Father,

I stand in prayer with everyone here for her too. Fight against her enemies (Eph 6:12). Her righteousness is Christ. Let her enemies be dismayed and confused in Jesus Name. Let them be blind, deaf, mute, and lame. In Jesus Name. Let the Word of the LORD raise a standard up against the flood of the enemy and let him flee seven ways. By Jesus' stripes, Jordache is healed, by His gentleness she is made great, by His delight in her she is delivered. Magnify Yourself in Your strength LORD. I magnify Your Name in the midst of the enemy camps. Be exalted O LORD. I exalt You in the midst of the dark places. I thank You in these storms and give praises to Your Name. Take up arms and fight for Jordache LORD. Fight also for our nations, for Israel, for our leaders, and our cities. Let there be peace in Israel and in our cities. Fight for Jordache and let Psalms 91 be declared from You out of her mouth. Let her find herself speaking life, steering against the winds and the waves. Calm those storms Lord. Bring her to the still waters and let her move forward in You, quickly. And quickly answer her when she calls. Let her words become Yours and bring light to a darkened world and people. Heal her marriage and let her husband fight with Your Word that You have given him. Let Jordache and her husband pray and worship together in unity. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

God bless you Jordache for your coninued faith through all these trials.
Your faith is trully a witness in Jesus, even through your struggles, and those set upon you.

You continue to be in my daily prayers in Jesus.
For it trully is in our weaknesses that Gods power is made perfect.

Huge hugs and God bless.
