I like how a lot of people are saying that if we legalize gay marriage then that just encourages their sin and will keep them from getting saved...Im sorry to tell you but we live in america, ill put money on the fact that they have all heard the gospel at least once in their lives...did it ever occur to you that maybe they just dont care? Not everyone wants to be a christian, so using that as an argument holds little to no weight

They need God. They need to be shown that there are actually people on Earth, who have love within them.

we already know not everyone will be saved.

do we cast off what God has said and throw the kids to the streets to learn?
what do they learn now?

Seems Christ did what he said he would.

seems the message is for ME, and should the man beside me wish it, he can read it to. Then it would be for him.

There will be people burning in hell forever and ever under the fullness of the wrath of a just God who enacts his vengeance against the wicked. The father was pleased to crush his own son (Isaiah 53:10) because his sin had become sin. Not all will repent and believe, and thus they are condemned to hell rightly and justly by a righteous and holy God. The notion that those who are not in Christ will be glorified in heaven is a totally unscriptural belief. It is a doctrine of demons who seek to fool men into believing that everything is great, and men are okay.

Repent and believe, abandon your idolatry.
 
Most Christians believe Sodom & Gomorrah were rampant with homosexuality, as in the verse where the local men wanted to have sex with the angels visiting Noah.
Most Christians believe God's wrath of flooding the earth & saving Noah was because of sexual perversions.
The Bible says homosexuality is an abomination. (not ObamaNation). Doesn't this make this sin stand out among other sins which are not described as an abomination?
So due to our voting for a president who will pass a law calling homosexual marriage legal & having our approval, doesn't this then make us expect God's wrath/our destruction as a nation?
Is our God now more politically correct? Does He want us to believe that His word is NOT the final authority on the matter?
It is obvious some Christians do not consider the Bible the final authority on the matter. It is their opinion that their opinion is the final authority on homosexuality.

fear? nah.
we are hid in Christ, by grace through faith, and not of ourselves.
His perfect love has cast out all fear.

we just get annoyed over universalism.

why don't you figure that out?

How is not making gay marriages legal punishing them?

I just don't believe the world should be forced into being 'perfect christian folk' out of the fear of jail-time, it isn't the right way to go about it. I'd rather spend the time and make myself humble, than condemn people for sinning because that's not my job. I sin too.

Where did I ever say they should go to jail? I was referring to marriage.

If it were up to me I'd have made it legal a long time ago because it's up to gay people whether they follow God or not and in a country the size of the US, you can't have such a large number of people living in oppression.

Why are you saying it's oppression for gays not to be able to marry,when you know it's wrong? Is it oppression that we have laws about cocaine?

The churches are not bound to marry gay people anyway.

They have the right to refuse on religious grounds. Registry offices however (government run) can't. So it's a governmental form of marriage, not a Godly one.

I don't understand.

If my sons or daughters are going to be gay, there's very little I can do to change that so I'm not going to oppress them for it. What good is that? If my friend's are gonna be gay, there's not much I can do about that either.

They have their choice.

It all gets very outwardly judgemental about this topic, but if I believe in Jesus, and I'm not gay, then I believe that's good enough for God. I don't need to stick my oars within everyone else's way and start dealing out the oppression and hatred, because then I'm just another Pharisee with a stone.

Sorry, I have been there. I have been jumped,spit on,raped and other things I will not get into. Please do not start on me about the oppression,I have seen the hate. I just know where those of us who are dealing with LGBT issues have hope and it's not in the legal system,it will not change one thing about their own guilt which no law can overcome,it's a placibo at best. It cannot and never will change the guilt we carry. Been there and only because of Jesus have I been set free from it.
 
I've had 2 dear friends in my life who were gay.(They are now deceased). So please don't think I am "judging" gays, I am not. This is a discussion from a Biblical perspective on a Christian site. I showed them respect & love, & I miss them. One was female, one was male. They both were believers who knew that it was a sin according to the Bible. The problem was,
they wern't born gay, & there isn't such a thing anyway. They were molested by gay predators, which convinced them they were born gay. Making such a union legal, doesn't help those people sort out these type of issues.
If the Bible is not the final authority on the matter, your opinion shouldn't count in a Biblical discussion, unless you have some evidence the translation is incorrect. It doesn't mean anyone is judging or being mean to a gay person.
