hmmm...I appreciate your role as peace keeper and what you say is true
however, perhaps you are not aware of the reason this thread was actually started?
you know, if the foundation is not there, or the building stones are jagged and do not fit, then the structure will fail
that, is basically what we have here in page after page after....
the thread was started as a carry over from another thread...an argument between two people who did not agree (well that was redundant lol)
however, it became another cesspool (my words and I stand by them) of legalist vs grace vs Pelagianism
the icing on the cake though, is the slander and belittling done by one individual in particular who has addressed any and all who disagree with him, at one time or another, with choice and well chosen false portrayals and then he denies saying them..doesn't just state we misunderstood, but actually denies saying it in the first place!
it doesn't matter if someone goes and starts another thread about a different subject...both jens and herose will insert themself into the thread, derail it and off we go again!!
between those two and the KJV only folks and now some other as yet un-named cult that states women should be mute in church, it is getting harder and harder to share the truth with one another. But of course, according to these folks, we don't have the truth!
On thing to disagree...but why the name calling? why the slander? why the repetitious and false accusation by herose that those who do not agree with him state we continue to sin but are saved? that in particular is a blatant and false accusation that has been refuted to consistently and pointed out that it is not at all true. but what happens? well mr herose just continues on stating we are sinners and not saved
this is not even a Christian discussion anymore
it is two individuals who disagree with everyone else and at times with each other, but who see to enjoy twisting other's posts, mocking and name calling
why don't they stop it? they have been asked to stop their behavior many times
it is possible to disagree and discuss the topic and not the person, but they seem to believe the topic IS discussing the person
I hope to keep myself from posting again in this ridiculous and insulting excuse for a discussion...I really take exception to the way jens addressed Angela as did others here...none of us are strangers to those tactics!

IMO you poison every thread you participate in with your false accusations, and then when confronted you try justify yourself with more accusations.
It's just your spirit. Stir up trouble with false accusations, blame it on someone else, then try to act like a judge and peacemaker (you have no right to judge anyone).

Yes and Paul knew grace believers would be falsely accused.
"Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord." Rom 5:18-21
This Scripture, and the rest of chapter 5 points us to one Person as the basis of our salvation-Jesus! It is by the obedience and righteousness of ONE that many are justified and made righteous(also Philippians 3:9)
Knowing this Scripture in context(reading the verses before it), Paul asks this question:
"What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? Rom 6:1
The answer Paul gives is what grace believers affirm:
"God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?" Rom 6:2
Paul then explains further in chapter 6 why this grace teaches us to live godly lives(also Titus 2:11-12) . Paul must have had the same problem with others accusing him of promoting a license to sin, just as we grace believers today have this accusation against us that never goes away!
Then tell me what I believe. I bet you have no clue. You were too chicken to give me the name of your church. Can you meet this challenge?

Grace also teaches us to present our bodies a LIVING sacrifice, acceptable to God which is our reasonable service.

I personally believe the reason why God went to great lengths to explain the gospel of grace in Romans chapter 6 the way He did was to teach us Christians to be MORE mindful of the gospel in our day to day lives(ie: "let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily" Luke 9:23), as motivation to live for Him. Also, to point out that these false accusations against us grace believers really shows how the accuser completely misunderstands what grace accomplished in the believer.
My fellow believers of grace, let us take consolation in the Word and what it says:
"Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake." Matt 5:11
"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ." 1 Pet 3:15-16
My fellow believers of grace, let us take consolation in the Word and what it says:

What would be great is to have a bible forum where our mouths and words are unwelcomed on it and that would be a killer forum and I would spend all my time on it with those who also love to set in order those same things.
We should have an experimental thread connecting various truths in the scripture while shutting our traps, our own words not allowed. Not a speak your mind thread but speak only the oracles of God thread.

Angela, you have a very irritating, condescending and abusive spirit. I put you on ignore after your rude response to me earlier, but I must answer your charges against Peter because I don't like your abusive attitude. I frankly think that you are a poser, who pretends to have more spiritual authority than is rightfully yours. You try to act like Ms Authority, but in this particular arena, you seem to be abysmally ignorant. This controversy has been going on for months. I've watched it nearly every day since the beginning. Peter's observations are entirely correct. IMO, Peter's use of the indirect third person (they) was to conceptually discuss the topic without mentioning those who have verbalized these things. So your charge that Peter was slandering everyone on this forum is just stupid. You're trying to act like Ms. Large-and-in-Charge, and you have no clue what's going on. And if you do, then you are entirely guilty of partiality, because Grace777x70 habitually indulges in passive-aggressive "slander" using the indirect third party method. You had me fooled. I thought that you were worthy of respect.
