You are the one who first challenged my posts . I asked if you ever asked for forgiveness for a sin you have committed,
So I ask again. Don't use 'screwing up' or any other euphemism/ 'soft name' for sin.
Do you seriously think saying "sin" makes you Spiritual sounding, or something? That of kind of sad.

You won't say "I confessed my sins to God", but you will say " I confessed my screw ups to God"...word games.
Would it shock you to learn that the definition of "sin" is TO FALL SHORT... TO MISS THE MARK ?

That's nice, old news, now ...Have you ever confessed your SINS to God as a Christian?
He just told you he doesn't confess his sins to the Lord, rather he praises God for the forgiveness he has in Jesus Christ. How can he clarify that?

But, as I said, I DO talk with God about my SINFUL errors, mistakes, shortcomings, acknowledging I have done all these things ..... BUT I still refuse to make Him shake His head by asking Jesus to go make His sacrifice again.

You know crossnote, you entered this thread combative from the start. First you didn't even read the OP before posting and secondly started throwing assumptions out. You came in with a bad attitude, even so belittling my posts, and now are doing it to Willie-T. You are just being insulting and close minded. You've liked my posts in the past and I was actually surprised to see the response you have had to this thread. Even so, to insulting my beliefs. Whats wrong with you?
I didn't read it because I was quite familiar with the novel teaching. I challenged it as I challenge most teaching errors, but I get the hint, you are embedded in it and so I'll leave you wallowing in it.
That's something I love about confession. In our fallen nature we make a conscious decision to sin - to act or think in a way that we know beforehand is offensive to God. The true penitent though wants to correct their behavior, to do HIS will and not their own, for God to show us (in His immeasurable grace and mercy!) the way for us to love Him more and to serve Him better.
God wants more than anything for us to return to Him. If we confess our sins, he who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
It's more than to just quit running. We need to RETURN to Him. To make that conscious and deliberate act of self-examination and confession. True repentance. So goes the process of healing. And he gave the leaders of His church the authority to bind and loose, to forgive sins. Why else would he have told us so in Sacred Scripture?
It's an interaction, a relationship, our being real-life active participants in the salvation made possible and provided by Christ who is God, who longs for this relationship with us.

Name and site(confession) your sin to God.
Confession of sin.............brings a whole lot, I mean a whole lot of preconceived ideas to the table. We are blessed that we work out our OWN salvation!

The second son in the prodigal story is this example. The second son is running, but he stayed right(physically) with the Father. But the second son is farther away than the prodigal.
Its not that you are trying to bring a rebuttal, but the way in which you carried it out, that I take issue with. Its like, was it necessary to belittle what was posted as a "little theological system", instead of just addressing the points? Or the passive aggressiveness of saying "a person's opinions" as to devalue what was being said? Why couldn't you provide historical and biblical support for your stance without being demeaning?
All is well, though. You may be familiar with the "novel teaching", but the article may have revealed something a little different that may have been illuminating to you. Feel free to give it read, as I said earlier, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.
The second son is a spoiled brat who has no appreciation for the gifts of God in his life. In his feelings of self-righteous entitlement he is condescending to the Father and resents his brother who "was dead and came to life", who "was lost and has been found".
If you identify more with the second son than the first then you believe that you are without sin and have earned your own salvation by no merits of the blood of Christ.
