No, it is a fact. those who say people lose salvation because of sin preach this very thing.
why do you think people like me get so angry, Because this is the God they demand the world worships. Not the God of Scripture.

Our work? What work?
We can not add to the cross. this is foolishness What can I add that Jesus did not already complete?
I would say that if a person continues looking at the spiritual mirror/bible and renewing their mind they will grow in confidence of how much GOD loves them.
I meant healing of our conscience for a healthy walk (relationship) with GOD; not a healing of our position as children of GOD.

it even heals us medically. People through the ages can attest to this. Guilt and pain leads to many physical ailments, The only way to get rid of guilt is to confess, get it off your chest, And get help to stop the sin.
No one stops sin in private, if they think they can, they are in trouble. (which is why legalism is so dangerous, if a legalist is honest with him or herself, which most are not, they have to hide certain sins they may struggle with, so they can not seek help0 so they never stop. they do not find healing, and they either crash and burn because it is to much to handle. or thet get caught in their sin which happens so much.. and the world has another christian hypocrite to make fun of..

we are having a little difficulty understanding your statement in regards to the following scriptures,
and we will go ahead and quote your statement,
"We confess our sins not for forgiveness but to restore our walk with Jesus."
this particular part of your statement, 'we confess our sins 'NOT for FORGIVENESS', it seems to 'collide'
with 1JOHN 1:9.,
'If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.'
and then, the second part of your statement is,
'but to restore our walk with Jesus'.
But, the second half of 1JOHN 1:9. - mentions NOTHING about the 'Restoration' with the walk of Jesus,
but, it states that the PURPOSE, after the FORGIVENESS OF SINS 'in the first half of the verse, -
the conclusion is: that He cleanses us from ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS.
to state a basic premise;
ROMANS 5:10. - the 1st. half of the scripture states, 'that the reconciliation to God comes through
the death of His Son'......
'For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, (((much more,
being reconciled, we shall be saved by his LIFE.')))
the second half of the scripture explains that,
through the RESURRECTED LIFE of JESUS CHRIST it says,
'we shall be saved' (future tense) by His Life'...this is further explained in HEBREWS 7:25. 'Therefore He is also able
to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since
'HE ALWAYS LIVES to MAKE INTERCESSION FOR THEM.' ((We shall be saved by His Life.'))
(save them from what???) sin, For the wages of sin is death'.

Since HE ALWAYS lives to make INTERCESSION for them....

may our Heavenly Father unite us all together in the perfect glorious building of His Holy Temple for a time

We have been cleansed of all our sins by the Blood of Jesus shed on the Cross. If ALL of our sins, past, present and future, has been forgiven by God then how can we be forgiven again for sins that were washed clean a long time ago? Can we be forgiven again for a sin that was washed clean by the Blood of Jesus?
We were forgiven for ALL our sins. So which sin do we do today that was not forgiven by the Blood of Jesus?
I still say we confess our sins to get us right with Jesus again and put our self back on the path of walking with Jesus.

Some like to do this confessing as a spiritual requirement that eases their feelings of condemnation.
Exactly! Yet there is therefore now no condemnation in Christ, Jesus.
I don't see how we can confess and repent without acknowledging a defiled conscience; since, it is our conscience through which the Holy Spirit makes us aware of our sin, IMO.
By confessing our sin we are made aware of our sin. Which then means we are to stop doing that sin.
Unfortunate many Christians believe they can keep on doing their sins as long as they confess them. We are not to practice our sins, we are to stop sinning willingly.
There are some sins Christians just cannot seem to stop doing. We are to make an effort not to sin. Most of the time we lose and sin again. BUT, we can never lose our Salvation by sinning!

ok , I admit I tend to do this myself, sometimes, but what is the alterative to this? I know there are what they call 'alteratives to addiction' 'celebrate recovery' or just the regular old 12 steps, but what is the biblical model for overcoming repeat sins if it's not asking God for forgiveness and help with repenting, then getting up and trying to do better, with victories, maybe minor at first, but hopefully more in time. Is this the bootstrap theology you refer to? I do admit, it can get frustrating at times, but I dont understand why some ppl get almost like a miracle deliverance, and are really set free almost instantaneously, and others struggle with wanting that deliverance but never seem to be able to grasp or receive it. Who is at fault? Is it just a sovereign choice by God to free some and not others? That seems so arbitrary...or is it the sinners fault for just not 'resisting the enemy and he'll flee'? What's left but to confess and try to do better? At least there are ppl who go to mtgs and things to TRY to better their lives, there are plenty who just dont care, I guess, but what of those who do but just cant seem to overcome?
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those
who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.
Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.
