I'd hope that she brings that up proudly. If not, I hope my pride in you helps. I like that it is a requirement in Israel, and they have a very low incidence of depression and teen suicide. I gather they are expected to defend their homeland rather than set out to 'conquer' everybody else's. There's too many people trying to destroy them to bother with self-destruction, I suppose. I also like the bar/bat mitzvah's where one is officially considered, and expected to take the responsibility of, an adult. There are no perpetual Teenie boppers there.

I remember being sixteen casting about wondering what it was all about and thinking maybe joining
the military would help provide direction and answers? But that was not where I ended up after all...
I remember him, but I was only 10 at that time.... my dad ran for Congress against George Mahon during that time frame... can't recall if it was 62 or 64....

Knowing what I know now I'm sure that I would not vote for Goldwater. From what I understand, his views were extreme.So he would have told you I’d liked to help you son but you’re too young to vote?
I would probably take a pass in the 1964 general election.So, knowing what you know about LBJ, you would have still voted for him?
