Do you relate more to old folks than you do to the young and the restless?
Can you drive 55?
Have you found it hard to shake the old habit of dimming your high beam brights when approaching another car on a dark road?
But if you appreciate a warning label that tells you, "Contents may be hot!" on your coffee cup, this forum may not be for you.

My ideas rarely gather much interest. I mean, who wants to think of themselves as old?
People are always saying things like, "age is only a number," or they'll say, "You don't look at day past bleh bleh." Even my granddaughter has assured me that I'm only just a little old. Why did she, among they youngest of age, think that I might even need such consolation?
Then again, who has ever said, "I'm old!" as any sort of announcement of such as "I have arrived!" So, I want to start a trend to bring back the dignity that the world has managed to successfully strip the aged of in exchange for butt lifts.

I can drive 55 but don't dim my high beams as most cars these days have those intense headlights and those certainly don't go dim. I drink McCafe each morning that I work but ignore the Caution - Contents May Be Hot warning. Their coffee is definitely hot though. Sip carefully. Or better yet, add a little ice.

In my own observations those that say that age is only a number don't have a clue on how the real-world works. I'm getting higher in numbers (71) but have no desire to be young, foolish, and naive again. I have learned a thing or two through the years and I'm not looking back but rather looking forward.

"Open Box before eating" on a Pizza box. Who needed to be told that????

I'd like to have my age 25 body and the knowledge I have now. If it was either/or, I'll take the knowledge.

Yeah, be young again but with the knowledge and wisdom of old age.
I have more confidence now in my knowledge and wisdom of old age than I ever did at 25 in my foolish and naive youth, but this includes learning the wisdom in not looking at the possible "future" I might've had had I not been foolish and naive in my youth. We're all yet spinning on the potter's wheel, but I was but a mere clod back then and only now beginning to see the form of what's been in the working from that initial lump.

I do miss the halogens they've traded in for, what are they called... "new and improved" whatever, which might be better in some cases but this. And I don't think the caution would irritate me as much if it just read as a selling point, "Extraordinarily Hot." The caution only gives me the impression that the 'hot' in the coffee is possibility. I wouldn't even be offended if the disclaimer read, "Calm down. Relax. Smell. Feel. Taste. Enjoy the moment."

Adding the caveat that, because I was once a young fool, doesn't necessarily mean that I am not now just an old fool. My intention was not to equate youth with foolishness nor was it my intention to make this forum exclusive to the more ancient members. Even in my youth, I gravitated toward the company of older folks unless I noticed any sort of 'young and foolish' spirit yet thriving in them. Such as these seemed nostalgic of their youth as to wish that they could perpetually repeat it.
My invitation is those, of any age, that sense the awareness of their "old soul," even as you outwardly blend into the company of the fast and the furious. Are you seeing that you'd rather be cruising and crabby?

This particular cautionary alert... had to have been offered with tongue in cheek. I just can't see it as having been formulated with any degree of authentic concern. But if anyone has actually tried to eat a pizza before opening the box, please, I don't want to know.

In America, isn't it that almost all foods have some kind of warning label on them?

Like contains or doesn't contain artificial flavours and colours, or nuts, shellfish and dairy?
And the milk cartons say 'contains milk'

🤷‍♀️

I suspect the warning labels on those takeaway sippy cups are for the people who didn't buy HOT chocolate.
They were using them for some other nefarious purpose...like containing coffee flavoured milk.

Clay or fine china?
I think clay for men, and china for the ladies.

I used to think these idiotic warnings were fake. Perhaps some of them are. But I was on a flight in the US and they gave me a tiny packet of peanuts. It really did say to open the packet and eat.

To be fair, it is useful to warn people about possible allergens. As children have been increasingly isolated from the environment, their immune systems are not well developed. And I read this comment. "Why do we need farms anyway? We get all that we need from the supermarket."

This is the closest thing the emoji list has to a facepalm that I noticed is conspicuously missing 😑
