No offense for miss Seoulsearch, but I kept wanting to go back an add self-deprecating posts about how horrible I can be. I doubt I'm the only one who's boasts of one great talent being tearing herself apart... So here goes... What do you do well? What natural talents are gifts do you have? How do you use them for Gods glory?

1. I am very good with kids to the point that seasoned mothers ask my advice. baby-dar. I absolutely love children of any age or temperament. Children seek me out when they are lost or scared. I would be the woman with a baby in each arm, a piggy-backer, an a stroller I push with my hip. I am not easily overwhelmed by child drama. Crying babies, all those wonderful baby accidents, and managing large groups of children doesn't phase me.
Mothering is beyond natural to me.
2. I am musical and I sing harmonies with just about anyone if I hear a verse and chorus. I have a few friends that I can sing with without zero rehearsal because we are very in tune with each other.
3. I am as loyal as a lab... Sometimes to a fault.
4. I am intelligent and resourceful.
5. I am an advocate.
6. I would never consider myself a prophet, but I do exercise a prophetic gifting. I often get pictures, dreams, and words of knowledge.

Put this on your mirror for the next day you wake up listing your illnesses. God's truth about you can replace yours.

C'Mon! I'm soooo good at self-deprecating posts though. LOL So now you ask the tough one and have us list good stuff,eh? Not sure if any of my talents are natural,or God given or whatever...and as far as me using any of them for God...hmmm,well I guess not so much anymore, but that's nothing against him,it's just I don't use them (or am in a place to use them) so much nowadays. So here it goes...not a big list.
1. I am a pretty good drummer/have a knack for hearing music, lyrics & memorizing pretty quick. Self taught on drums, never had a lesson. Just watched or heard & it came. I suppose if I had some proper teaching I might have been stinkin' awesome. LOL
2. like Jordache...for some odd reason I am amazing with babies. If a kid is under 2yrs old,for some odd reason we get along. I have helped many a Mom at my old church in my day & possibly saved their sanity and/or marriages by being able to calm or put to sleep their little bundles of joy. Baby vom * poo doesn't bother me either. Now children over age 5...you can keep 'em...don't call me. LOL
3. Used to be pretty good at art & poetry, but I rarely do either anymore.
4. I am an amazing cook. I can make pretty much take anything & make it awesome, even if there's not much in the fridge. I think it come from a life of being poor & using what you have, making the most of every scrap. lol
5. I am (apparently) very funny & witty. I have been asked on more than one occasion, why is it that I never went into stand-up comedy or writing for a sit-com? My answer is because, most of my humor seems to be based on complaining or losing my marbles at the obvious stupidity of mankind, which I suppose isn't very Christ-Like to do. lol
6. I am very good at my job (when I'm there)...I should say,I am very good with dealing with people in a customer service way. I seem to be able to help people that when they call are very stressed, confused,or upset...or sometimes don't even know what they are calling for,and by the end of our convo, they seem to hang up satisfied.
7. I am great at being a friend. There's nothing I won't do for you,if it's at all within my power. (this can work against me too,and is a flaw but figured I'd toss it in)

I am awesome, I am also midway through a takeaway so I don't currently want to list the reasons why.

Awesome thread, Jordache :) And you seem like a very talented person indeed.

Hmm. It's a good point because I guess we're all kind of geared to search out our flaws rather than talents. I think for me:

1. I enjoy talking to people from all walks of life, including those who've made different choices, were raised in different atmospheres, and practice different faiths.

2. Believe it or not, lol, I do try to encourage people. I was training a girl at work today and she was doing an excellent job!!

3. I am always honest as humanly possible.

4. I hate the thought of leaving someone behind and have sometimes stood by people whom I should have let go a long time ago.

5. I pray constantly, and about everything.

I'm pretty bad at this, I don't build myself up much or generally like listing things I'm good at. I either get stumped (I got stumped after number 4 on this even, ha) or feel like I'm bragging, even though I know that's not the case. But I figured it would be a good stretch for me to list them. :)

Jordache, I am the same as yours on numbers 1, 2, and 3. We're strength buddies. :P

1. I am good with kids. I can usually make even the rowdiest or the most stubborn child listen. I can usually get the shyest kids to come out of their shell. Kids love me. And I love them, so it kinda works out. :)

2. I can harmonize with anything. I can sing alto and soprano (my range is about 3 octaves) but I love harmonizing. I wish I had more friends who can sing. I really don't have anyone to sing with.

3. I'm very loyal. It can be hard to gain my trust, but typically once you have it, you HAVE it. On the flip side, if you do something to lose it it's pretty hard for me to give it back to you (I guess that wasn't very positive )

4. I'm very non-judgemental. I can put myself in almost anyone's shoes and empathize with them. Because of this (among other things) people generally find it easy to talk to me

5. I'm a good listener and I can be rather good at seeing what the real problem is

6. I'm a fast learner. I learn new jobs quickly, new songs quickly, and I picked up playing guitar pretty quickly too (for being self-taught)

7. I can be witty

Maybe this would be a good exercise for me to give me the new perspective I really need lately...

1. I'm very patient.

2. Like rachelsedge, I'm very good at empathizing. I can see pretty much anyone's side of the story and at least understand, if not agree with them.

3. I can use 300 words when 10 would do (wait, is that a good thing? I dunno, but I'm good at it, regardless).

4. I'm good at appreciating the little things that a lot of people take for granted or don't even notice (usually I'm good at it, some days it's a struggle).

5. I can bake. Really well. Strangely, I can't cook a meal to save my life, but HEY, dessert will be delicious.

...that's all I got.

See Cris...I can cook, but can't bake. We need to unite forces..like the Wonder Twins, but not in those cheesy outfits they had. LOL

I saw this in my "news feed" on CC and thought you were talking about me and then I saw Rachelsedge was in here. Way to get my hopes up ;)

You haven't posted in the forums enough for me to know yet, Rachel. :P

Nah, just kidding. I'm glad to see you in here, keep up the good posts!
