Barbaric slavery, the owning of another human being.
Slavery was advocated by God in scripture. And slaves were told to obey their masters.

And slave owners were directed how to treat their slaves.
America has done Some things to right the wrong but IMO America never truly repented for this the way a man/women repents when they do an alter call and someone comes up to repent, but America repents by a little something here and a little something there, now stop complaining because we made you equal.

IMO that's not repentance from the heart but repentance in word.
Less than 8 percent of slaves gathered from around the world were sold in America.

Brazil had the largest population of slaves sold.

Further, tribes in Africa SOLD SLAVERS THEIR people who were actually criminals from their own tribes or what we label POW's from tribal wars.

Free slaves in the north here owned slaves.

No one who plays slave victim today were a slave, nor were their ancestors from at least the last generation.

We need to stop apologizing to whining race baiters for the past we were not a part of and too for being Caucasian.

America had slaves because God said it was OK. One nation under....

Get over it. Or don't.

See?clap back rather than repentance.
theres no memorial for all the woman in that were sacrificed in Hawaii. But the truth is majority of Americans never owned slaves for instance my great grandfather on one side was a coalminer and his father was a sharecropper who married a native. they never owned a slave why should his descendent have to apologize?

Instead of an apology, they would much prefer monetary reparations such as land or a college scholarship, but our government should not be the one to pay it; instead, the tobacco companies and the cotton industry should pay for it.

I have to note.... that whole statement is just stupid.... almost beyond belief.... but after some of the meltdowns I've seen on Utube in the last week, I believe it...

Do you know of any Americans that pine for the good ol' days when all landowners could own a slave? Good grief... where do you lefty twits come up with this blather? You should really be ashamed for even hinting at this...

And that's the second stupidest thing I've read today..... why in the blue blazes should we pay ANYTHING to anyone that had slaves as ancestors?
Have you ever heard of Affirmative Action? That disaster of a program that practically kicked out deserving students from universities, simply because of the color of their skin? They were white students....

Give me strength....

Yep, sure is. And when this debacle comes to an end I’m going to start whining about how things are for us Cajuns here in America.
I remember long, long ago in a chat room far, far away, there was this one Australian woman who was almost a conversational Jiu-Jitsu master. No matter what the topic was, she would turn it into griping about how mistreated the Aborigines were.

You don't have to flagellate yourselves forever for the slavery, that is the female-minded spirit there to go over that on you over and over and try to guilt-trip ya'll lol. Think broader, think ahead, think more masculine. In Trump first term white people were willing to hire black men to like respectable jobs, were willing to take chances to patronize their businesses, and even were willing to work for a black boss which was actually very very significant. There is a hope this sort of dynamic will return. Still really hoping Trump will bless and appoint a strong black man like Byron Donalds or Tim Scott into his exciting administration, but even if not, really would like to see a mentality shift in the public and a return to a good economy like the Trump first term.

Y'all just keep in mind that whatever someone hopes to gain through further race reparations, or whatever somebody lost because of affirmative action, they can only use it as long as they are here.

Nobody lost anything that they can take with them when they go.

I've been cheated out of a few things myself. But none of them are things I can take with me, so I didn't get too upset about it. A little upset for a bit maybe, but it wasn't worth getting my blood pressure up over.

Martin Luther King believed in reparations.

Okay, you want to play it fair, huh? But here's the thing: If Asians were accepted at the same SAT scores as whites, the college population at A-list schools would have more Asians than any other race on campus.

You don't really understand, or perhaps you don't care. It was my privilege to study and go to college, but it wasn't the same for a friend of mine. Every night, she had to go home to take care of her siblings. Also, black people tend to be paid less than whites, so poverty adds another burden to the student. Doesn't even psychology tell us that a student needs to feel safe and emotionally secure to learn anything? Lowering the standards for black students is being fair. It allows deserving students into schools that have had fewer opportunities than others.

The Lord tolerates a lot of things He's not on board with; divorce is a prime example: "He said to them, 'Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.' " We know from other passages that God hates divorce: " 'For I hate divorce,' says the LORD, the God of Israel. 'He who divorces his wife covers his garment with violence,' says the LORD of Hosts." Malachi 2:16

The Lord hates slavery but he tolerated it for a long time. What He was actually tolerating was the hardness in men's hearts.

This is an incredibly ignorant post for many reasons.

Name another nation that sent its citizens to die to end slavery? More Americans died ending slavery in the Civil War than any other war the US engaged in.

Virtually every civilization in history has engaged in slavery. In fact, millions today are still in slavery.

Slightly more than 5% of all slaves brought to the Western Hemisphere arrived in America. Yet America gets the lion’s share of the blame.

The vast majority of Americans today do not have any ancestors that engaged in slavery. Most came after it was abolished.

My Irish ancestors coming here were barely more than slaves. They were indentured servants. So you want to steal my tax dollars for yourself, while NONE of my ancestors engaged in or benefited from slavery?

You know where can go? I can’t say it. I’ll be banned.

well... personally, I don't care what Dr. King thought about reparations. The only reparations that MEAN anything is for all people to treat ALL races equally..... to become what Dr. King espoused.... to become a truly color-blind nation.

The company I work at is the most ethnically diverse business I've ever seen... and guess what? ALL people get paid the same, when in equal positions.

I'm a senior equipment technician.... I've been working on moderately high tech equipment for over 35 years... there's another senior tech that started here about 6 months after I did... he's a good tech... sharp guy. Being brutally honest, I'm better at a lot of things than he is... he's better at some things than I am.... he actually makes slightly more than I do... oh, yeah.... he happens to be black.

And, you have no clue about what I understand, or don't understand. What you are "championing" is the whole DEI disaster. We need the best candidates for whatever is being discussed.... whether university attendance, or jobs...

We could start a whole thread on "why" some ethnicities make higher SAT scores... but the bottom line is, refusing access to the best education solely based on race, or ethnicity is just plain wrong.

Pretty sure they will win the next one. We have to keep both sides satisfied, or at least happy enough to not riot.

Obama had two in a row, but he was black so they couldn't really kick him out after the first term without starting trouble.

You haven't noticed? Neither side has had a long winning streak. Democrats will almost certainly win the next one.
IDK there might not be a next time.Donald Trump is in office,it might be the last time people will have to vote.

Your funny, get ready for some real work to be done. Now that the Republicans own the Senate and House, Pelosi, Schumer and the old rhino's are not going to try to impeach Trump every other day, we will see Trumps MAGA come to fruition this time around. I don't know about you, but I'm tired of paying high energy and grocery prices.

Obama, Biden, Harris regime was a joke that is what god made them for.
This will be interesting.😁🫣
