Yes. The Spirit still requires the Law of Christ. See Romans 13.

Romans 13 points to Leviticus 19, not Exodus 20
but in John 13:34, Christ gives a commandment He calls "new" -- keeping this satisfies every righteous requirement of the Law, even though we are not in any way bound by or under the Law, having been declared righteous by faith and completely released by our immersion into His death.
"the Law of Christ" is not Exodus 20.
it satisfies Exodus 20, but it is not Exodus 20. we are not serving under a written code, but in spirit and truth -- and this is not contrary to the Law, but it isn't subjection to it.
That's because scripture means writing. They held the oral teachings of the apostles to be as authoritative as any scripture.

There's no need to split hairs. The first four commandments are covered by the first *greatest* commandment, while the next six commandments are covered by the second *greatest* commandment. And both these commandments are included in the Law of Christ, which is the Law of Love. "Love is the fulfilling of the Law".

No! The NT has no curse or spiritual death penalty for disobedience. The order of Aaron has ended in Christ and is replaced with the order of Melchisedec. The letter of the law has been replaced by the Spirit of the law. The letter of the law dealt with the act, while the Spirit of the law deals with the intent of our heart. Under the letter of the law; they were to study the scriptures day and night that they may do according to all that is written; Under the Spirit of the law; the Holy Spirit illuminates the scripture that we study, here a little and there a little, writing the NT laws and commandments upon the tables of our hearts. Not for salvation, but rather, to transform us into Jesus' moral image; making us to see sin, more and more, as Jesus himself does, The letter of the law says, thou shalt not murder. The Spirit of the law says, we're murderers if we hate our brother. Or we commit adultery if we look with lust. If we live by the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit and so deny the lusts of the flesh.
Of course the law is still binding...As Born Again Christians though, Jesus gave us an easy way to fulfill all the law.
Matt 22 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
The entire law is based on these two laws that Jesus gave us...Keep these two laws, and you keep all the OT law. Simple hey?

Gal 3:23-25 "But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after faith is come, we are no longer under the schoolmaster."
What does, "no longer under a schoolmaster," mean to you?
Its a real truth that love fulfills the OT law, just as it does for the NT, which operates under the law of the Spirit of life.
I have no problem acknowledging the 10 Commandments or the 2 Great Commandments. I don't do it to get saved, that is a finished work by Christ Jesus. I do them because the spirit within me bids me so. Taking up my cross and denying myself daily is harder to do. I must crucify the old man every day. Now, I know nothing but Christ and Him crucified.
