This morning, after two years and a new external CD/DVD driver, I found a patch that repairs my HP built-in driver for Windows 10. Here below is the infor.........read all before attempting the fix...

reg.exe add "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi\Controller0" /f /v EnumDevice1 /t REG_DWORD /d 0x00000001


[Fix] CD/DVD Drive Not Detected or Working In Windows 10


This fix worked for me for my Multimedia Optical CD/DVD as a patch fixing the problem with Windows 10.
1. Copy the text above the link.
2. Passte it into the Command Prompt as an Administrator.
3.. Reboot your maching..
4. If it does ot work the first time, repeat.......mine works great now.

Specs; Windows 10 Home, X64.

The patch or fix in the OP will return to service the CD/DVD........ It may work for other lost models.
 
Can anyone help me to enablethe sound in my Avast SafeZone browser.

If you know how, I sure would appreciate it.

On the AVAST help page when I ask a question they instruct me type the letters they supply, and I simply cannot see them. I change the letters over and over for a new look to no avail........age!!! You cannot live with it, you canpt live without it.
